Perfect spot for camping. The water fall is right next to the campsite. You can climb behind the waterfall. It is very wet.

Amazing experience.I just flee with others. If you pack it in pack it out, let's keep this place CLEAN to the animals and others.

Was very impressed with this campground. Walking distance to river, falls and exploring trails. So quiet and peaceful and well worth our 6 hour drive. So much wood available but please make sure you douse your fire when you are not at your camp. Saw that a few times sigh... came across other's trash as well but we packed that out with ours. All in all, a very nice place to camp and we had almost 3 sites empty near us the 4th of July weekend.

Definitely need a 4x4 off road vehicle to get here...not a regular sedan..road is a little crazy for a sedan...nice views on the top of the mountain..camping area is nice and shaded and spacious Waterfall was absolutely beautiful! You can walk in it, swim in different parts of it, go behind and under the falling water... it was so nice..just too freezing cold to go in all the way..and this is during the summer, can't imagine how it feels in the winter time. You can hike the area but it is mostly used for dirt bikes and off-roading So we didn't stay long because we didn't camp or have quads:/

The road typically opens in May but there was a catastophic washout during the January flooding. Please call the bass lake ranger station to check on access in 2023

Going for over 30 years and still love it even after the fires that have been through that area. 11 miles from home.

Beautiful spot. Campground was temporarily closed though a few rogue campers were in there anyway.

Nice little place to camp, pit toilets are the primary amenity. The fire rings are moderately developed, as well. Campsites vary in size and how much flat area is available. Some are pretty squeezed together, which can be a bummer. The road in is rental car rough, be aware.

Whiskey falls has it all! Few people with a lot of space to explore. I loved that you can go shooting, hit a off road trail with your truck and take hikes with the pups off leash because the likelihood of finding someone was rare. You can basically camp anywhere on the mountain, we picked a place about a mile from the actual whiskey falls campground. The closer to water the more mosquitos will have it out for you and there is a bunch of dust that gets kicked up from just walking. There are plenty of fallen trees for your nightly fires.

Love this place. Need a 4x4 and maybe a chainsaw to get there right now.

Great place. Nice seclusion. The falls are up the road past the entrance to the campground. If you're able to hike up past the falls, you'll find the feeder spring. Definitely recommend.

Primitive, no hookups, pack in pack out. Roads are for high clearance vehicles. No cell service (TMobile). From Minarets Rd/North Fork, take Cascadel Rd and stay North. Off of 8S09. Don't get caught there if fire breaks out. No safety zones. Photos available on net.

I hate the road because its not paved and not enough signs but the campground is nice and it's quad friendly

What makes the campground so nice is that you're far from the crowds. The sites have a lot of room with a fire pit, table, and best of all a bench near the fire pit. Whiskey Creek and be heard rushing just a short walk away. The tall trees surrounding the campgrounds keep you shady. Lots of room and few people.

Campground is just ok. We did not stay there just drove through and checked it out. The Roads are not well maintained but it does have a vault toilet. The campground is more suited for tents but there were a couple small trailers there. It's a short walk to the actual Whiskey Falls. The falls themselves are actually very pretty. We were there in May so the stream was flowing nicely but it probably dries up drastically in late summer.
