Very good service. I arrived at the place and the young man who works as an assistant provided me with excellent service when choosing the material. Both workers provided excellent attention. I give them 5 stars and recommend everyone to go to them. Excellent day, the place was very clean and had a pleasant atmosphere.

Told me he had run out of room, then let a lady with more stuff and showed up after me go? My be a black thing?

For you who collecting empty bottle or can and want to selling it to recycle place, here one good place to sell tit! Its inside area of Ralphs with name "Sunset Recycle" at Las Tunas. In this place they received all type of bottles including detergen (laundry liquid bottle with color) , to be honest at other place (behind Vons Shop) they always have some things to rejected, with reason this no value theb they throw it inthey own trash bin. But here, they accept all and the person also nice and clear. They open 7 days a week, from Monday to Friday at 9.00am till 5pm, while on Saturday till Sunday at 9.00am till 4pm, but if still have que, they still accept you.

I’ve been coming to this recycle location for a long time. The young man is always helpful and respectful. Sincerely I don’t know how he does it. Under the rain, and under the heat. I believe is hard work. For all of you who are complaining. WELL ………. Is very easy……. Go to another location. Keep in mind that he doesn’t have anything to do with the orange containers. The company is the one in charge of that matter.

Aa a former Quality Assu rance Analyst, I've observed Alex who is a 1 man show. Everyone loves his fine work ethics. He is responsible, respectful and provides great customer service. He should be highly recognized especially as he does the job of 3-4 men of other recycling centers. I frequent this business and everyone in Temple City 🛕 should as well! Please, everyone, do not come here. Please don’t come. I’m heartbroken. Before I came here, I didn’t read the reviews carefully, but this recycling center is a scam. They stole the aluminum cans I had worked so hard to collect. They replaced the weight and price of my whole basket of aluminum cans with that of a basket of plastic bottles, and they had no intention of giving me a receipt. When I asked for a receipt and began to carefully read it, the worker quickly hid my basket of aluminum cans. So when I tried to ask for them again, I couldn’t find them anymore. They stole the cans I had worked so hard to save. This is not just about the money—I'm truly heartbroken.

The unethical clerk ALEX ,on 04/17/2025 ,at approx. 4:30 pm refused to loan $2 ,after earlier using my phone to rate himself /w 5 stars . I thought he was helping me apply for job with sunset recycling. Also,he refuses to give the going CRV rate (.10 ) for 20 Oz. containers. He maintains that the 10-cent rate only applies to 24-ounce and above. As to the interest in applying for a job with sunset recycling, he informed me they only hire family members.

Great experience! All the supplies were sorted nicely, it was a very efficient process. The man working was very kind. Will be returning!

These guys are awesome! Friendly workers, no rope that prevents you to see the scale, like other centers. They even gave me extra money because they didn't have the exact change. I received $4.25, instead of $4.08. This is already more than by counts. Feb 24, '24. Tip: Count for can/metal. Weight for plastic & glass.

Jose and his coworker were very friendly, helpful and professional. If Jose was my employee I would make sure to keep him employed!!

First time coming here. I have experienced a very noticeable loss in weight when the plastic is full with other recycling center but this one there is a surplus. Keep up the good honest hard work

I totally recommend this recycling center, they offer really good prizes for every type of bottles. They also have their scale for customers to be able to see it, this simple fact of having the scale on view allows for custumers to feel more trust and secure they are getting their money. Also workers are kind and work fast. So yes i totally recommend visiting this site and their service!

The worker is really friendly and helpful. i asked for help because is my first time recycling and he was really helpful. I would recommend this place and am going to come back when recycling.

Came to this recycling center after going to the last one and this one was not close to being accurate. My tare weight on the orange plastic container was 0.40 pounds. My total weight of 200 heavy weight 16.9 fl oz plastic bottles came out to be 10.50 pounds. Their net weight was 7 pounds, a loss of over 3 pounds. Don’t use the orange container they provide, it is not accurate, if using orange container ask what the tare weight on it is. It is better to request a 50 pcs count at this location. I will go to another location that is owned by this company and also write a review. It is a good practice to buy a luggage weight on Amazon because the more you fill up these orange container, the more off it is. Unfortunately there are some recycling centers that is off 10 lbs and there is nothing the customers can do about it because most of these customers collect these for a living and it is their sweat, they did not pay into the the CA cash refund.

Absolutely RUDE PEOPLE. We took well over 70$ worth of cans and bottles. And only got 40$. Right when we got there was a RED FLAG. Upset bdcause we came late and guy says, "i got stuff to do and places to be" Very weird guy also cleaning outside the place saying he's a truck driver and doesn't even work there. I go to throw my gloves away and he asks to chew them jokingly but Very weird. I will never recommend nor come again. You guys are ripping people off knowingly and stealing customers money. Absolutley DisGraceful. Would rate ZERO stars if POSSIBLE. Wasn't even money for me it was for my elderly mother who was collecting for over a YEAR.

I had a full loaded truck I use to get about $60-$80 and this young guy bad manners cussing up a storm while on the phone with someone not paying attention and trying to only give me $20!!! I never went back.

We will not go back to this center. We only got $40 when normally it’s worth over $100. You know when you cheated your customer when we have 10+ those oversized trash bags worth of bottles /cans. Two of these bags were aluminum cans that we over stuffed the bags. We expect the value for all the bags to be between $85 to over $100. You are cheating a senior person out of her yearly accumulation of cans/bottles. Every year her recycling is worth about over $100. You have no moral and this is dishonest business practice.

This place will pocket and steal your money Straight thieves. I took two cars full and usually I go up the street with one car full and get between 50 - 60 dollars here only 43 dollars here pretty insane if u ask me

The customer is not able to see the scale, and we should. Second the young guy that was working there was yelling at the customers in line saying we should of arrived early, it's Sunday people. Third they didn't give me the right amount of money back. Don't waste your time coming here. The workers are young and have no customer service. Plus you get Ripped off!!!

Something very disturbing and troubling happening here. I have always gone to the recycling center near the 710 Fwy but decided to visit Sunset on June 29th 2021. Big mistake... I took my usual load of soda cans and was shocked they do not allow weigh in totals to be verified or even veiwed. RED FLAG 1. I asked for a receipt and was denied. I received half the amount of money I was expecting. RED FLAG 2. An elderly lady before me kept insisting she wanted a count instead of weigh ins. I was getting annoyed because it was hot but it seems she was right and distrust their weigh in methods. CONCLUSION - AVOID AT ALL COST. Please do not support a business that practices bad business policies and that is defrauding our vulnerable elderly. Please write a complaint to Ralph's and Rite Aid corporate for allowing such a shady business to be allowed to operated near them.

They are cheating you out , been here before an they we're paying decent now the are lying. Never coming back. Don't come here should have read most recent reviews show 7 pounds it was at least 11 pounds or more.

Rip-off this recycling center will short you every time. The scale faces the other way so the customer can't see the total. The weight always comes to an even number like 5lbs. or 7lbs. Any legitimate recycling center will show you the totals as they weigh it and the weight comes out to something like 5.93 or 6.42 never an even amount. And I can't find any organzation to file a complaint with. I would rather throw my recyclables in the trash than to alow this place to make a cent off of me.

The guy who works at this place is awful. He is inpatient, rude, also he is stealing things from customers. He counted 38cans in 30 at 3 seconds and took my whole container recycles without payment. When I ask him, he return F words to me. And told me never come to his place again.

I usually go elsewhere to recycle but,when we're at our Grandsons house I go to this Sunset Recycling center in the parking lot of Ralph's / and Thrifty s. Aka Rite aid. The Mexican young man is quick and nice. Very reserved. Doesn't say much but that's okay. Today when Recycling he asked me if I knew anything about Cars. He has a Mercury Mini Van that didn't run well. I plugged in my scanner and found the trouble codes so his mechanic could know what to check. The moral of this story is to help someone that is in need of help who does not know much about the troubles he/or she may be having. I have gone to this location many times when just a young guy was there and I would get at least $11.00 for my bottles, using the same bags and now when I visit this location the amount of money is half of what I would get in the past... Definitely go somewhere else!!!

Seems like I found my new recycling location, even when it's not close to my house. The two guys who were there today, were kind and super helpful. I brought all my recyclables sorted already, but the employees were also very quick with customers, so it was basically minimal or none wait. It took me no more than ten minutes!
