Seemed legit especially when online says firm price and take trade ins, just to wait for them to respond and say we aren’t interested in your car what a waste of time thanks David B for the disappointment. (Update) reason for the one star is because of all the different excuses used in email by David for not wanting to take my car. First it was “we aren’t buying cars right now” after I replied with I’m not selling I’m trying to trade, then it was “we aren’t interested in your car”. Finally after that I responded with disappointed and his response was “we don’t buy cars with check engine lights”. Who said I was selling I asked to trade plus I still owed money on my car so I would have been paying either way. Yes one star worthy in my opinion. Thanks for your time do better.

I bought the Dakota and it was as advertised. I took it on a test drive and heard the tic tic tic of the engine but it didn't sound too bad so decided to buy it.
I went to get gas then drove it 8 miles and the engine blew up. I informed Starfire but they were unwilling to help. So 4000 bucks for 8 miles of use, shucks.
I was stuck a hundred miles from home and didn't know how I could handle it. A tow truck driver went well out his way to help and got his friend to look at the truck and helped me get a hotel room.
Starfire stuck strictly to our agreement but I think that they could have helped .
Check the website, make an appointment. We were helped by David , who popped up out of the yard and helped us make a deal. A great place to buy a car. Update: our quest still runs great, no problems.
Bought an old Celica from them. I knew I was taking a risk, but the first thing my mechanic told me was that the smog check sticker on it was clearly fake because there was no way that car passed a smog check the month before especially when the salesperson told me the car hadn’t been driven for a month. So apparently, it sat there for over 30 days, passed a smog inspection, then somewhere from me buying it and driving it home became an exhaust filled mess.
4 months later (just outside of the 3-month warranty I bought, which the salesperson tried to get me to purchase the cheaper one that doesn’t cover gaskets) the head gasket blew. My mechanic told me the car had no thermostat and strongly suspects that someone was trying to pass a bomb off, but he couldn’t prove it.
Well, you got me. That’s what I get.
Overall, StarFire is a possible good choice if you're in the market for a used car. Their process is very different from the usual dealership model, and it's not for everyone, so keep that in mind before making your visit. The appointment and buying process was fast and smooth. My only reservations about my purchase was that the car had issues that weren't described in the listing, granted this Mercedes was sitting for over two years, so its understandable, but it would have been nice to have an updated description of the vehicle at least every so often. Bottom line, you should have a pre-inspection done, especially on European cars, which usually have more reliability issues. Other than that, my 2004 Mercedes-Benz S500 has been a pleasure to drive.

If I could, I’d give 6 stars, because he also recommended a place that might offer me more money for my old vehicle I was trying to sell… and they did! Thank you guys again! Bought a 2001 Buick from them a couple months ago and checked on the website finding out there was a low mileage on the car and the only issue was that the mile counter wasn’t working and no other issues on the car fax report. I was told the mechanic even gave it as once over to check if the car was fine because it had been sitting out and to be fair they replaced the fuel pump. But I’ve since had to get a brand new battery, alternator, and now spark plugs, on top of the transmission being botched as well, all problems I was told by a different shop that the car already had once sold. Another issue is that the car will start without even needing the key in the ignition. All of these problems I was unaware about once sold because I’m assuming the mechanic didn’t do a good “once over” check.
I bought a 2008 Suzuki here. David helped us out, I had an appointment to look at two vehicles. He gave us our time and space to look at each one, we were able to test drive them and he was very transparent about any recalls and exactly what shape the cars were in. It was honestly a delightful experience. There was no pressure at all, the carfax report was printed out and sitting in each car and they were all clean when we got there to look at them. 10/10 would recommend!!
already put 5k miles on my new car with no issue. love the car. and thank you for reimbursing the smog check as promised. thought that was gonna be swept under the rug but they actually held true to their word which is quite respectable. wouldn't hesitate to buy my next car from here.
A huge thank you to David for everything. He was polite, knowledgeable, and honest throughout my entire buying process. One thing to note is that you DO have to make an appointment before you just show up. So make sure you schedule an appointment and let them know which car you want to see. When I came, the car was ready for me to check out, and was a super easy process once I decided to move forward with purchase.
In my personal experience, Abe and his "family" business are shady, dishonest individuals who take advantage of those in need. I owned a car purchased from here for less than a year and had nothing but issues with it and dumped thousands of dollars into it before having to part ways- not to mention he never once disclosed that the car purchased had been a salvage title. Furthermore, he is not accredited by the better business bureau and is not a licensed mechanic under the bureau of automotive repair.
Lastly, if you browse through the reviews it's interesting to find they only respond to one star reviews and are aggressive and confrontational in their reasoning. Abe is "never wrong" in his reviews or views, period. As a business owner it is admirable and appreciated greatly when one can admit they have made a mistake and we're wrong. I can recognize now that this has taught me a valuable lesson in taking my time, especially with something as important as a new car. I believe that an upfront and honest automotive dealer is a must when purchasing a used car. Please be aware and realize who you are dealing with when purchasing from this establishment. I only write this review with pure intentions of keeping the consumer informed and being candid in my personal experiences here. No bad vibes, Abe, only honesty. Thank you and have a blessed day.
Abe is a great business owner who offers excellent customer service. Starfire Auto has dozens of quality vehicles to choose from. I made an appointment after choosing a Dodge Caravan. When I arrived, the vehicle was ready for a test drive (and purchase).
Starfire does accept trade-ins. Abe gave me a fair price on my older vehicle. David was helpful with the car purchase procedure and handled all the paperwork.
What amazed me about this responsible small business was how much they appreciated my business. I drove 45 minutes one way to make the purchase. When I got home, I realized I had left my key chain at the lot. Kay found them in my old SUV and took the time to mail them to me overnight.
If you need a quality car, don't bother with dealers with huge lots, high overhead, and the desire to profit by charging hundreds of dollars in "fees". Go to the Stare website first, look at the inventory, and contact Abe with questions. He wants your business and will assist you in a friendly manner.
Overall, great experience! We purchased a car today at Starfire Auto. They have made the car shopping experience simple and straightforward. The three cars we were interested were ready for us for our appointment and we were able to test drive as we pleased. Prior to today, we were also given some recommendations which was helpful and quickly communicated if cars were sold prior to our visit. Thank you again for helping us.
I got a manual transmission 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer here a few months back, and I must say that Starfire helped me out with a great, reliable car in a pinch. It’s still running beautifully. I’ve had a couple things done here and there, but this car has been getting me to and from work and anywhere else I need to go with virtually no problems. The service post-purchase was fantastic, and Abe was nothing less than helpful.
If you need a car quickly on a budget, I recommend. It worked out well for me at least.
I drove my 80+ year old friend from church 4 hours each way to come to Starfire Auto to look for a nice compact sedan. Owner Abe and salesman Branden were friendly and so accommodating to us. They had 4 cars ready
for test driving within our price range and low mileage requirements.
We drove all 4 cars and ended up buying a nice Kia Optima. The Optima is smooth, peepy, and gets great gas mileage and quiet on the road.

I've owned nearly 30 cars, but never purchased out of state, so this was my first go. This dealership is VERY different from any other car buying experience I've ever had. Great communication, but never once spoke on the phone to anyone. All text/email...but it works. Read through the FAQ on their website, and you'll get a feel for how the dealership runs. It is very strange compared to a traditional dealership, but it's actually really efficient. Abe was prompt with responses and gave me a detailed overview of the car including pros and cons. He was nice enough to take the car to a local shop for a pre purchase inspection. The inspection noted things I had already been told about by Abe, so his honesty is appreciated! The price was fair, the car was as described, and everything went smoothly. Overall it was a good experience, despite being stressed by spending that much money on a car I had never seen. Huge risk, but it turned out great. Shipping pick-up and delivery also worked well, using the transportation company that Starfire recommend on their website. Overall it was the best experience I've had with a car dealership, especially considering the terrible experiences I've had with used car dealers in the past. This was one of the smoothest transactions I've had, and it's halfway across the country so that's saying something!
Pretty happy with my experience here. Low pressure, simple, straight up people. Found a car that I liked that developed a rattle on the way home...even though I did not purchase a warranty, Starfire fixed the problem the next day free of charge. They've also been very good about answering follow-up questions about minor issues, and if the customer service stays on this level I'll probably bring the car here for any future servicing. Can recommend.

I could not say enough about our car buying experience with Abe and Ramon. Abe knows so much about cars and was completely up front about the car we were looking at. Even steered us towards a cheaper car after we told him what we needed. We felt comfortable through the entire process. Abe went above and beyond to take care of us even though we were buying an inexpensive car. Process was fast. No pressure. Would highly recommend if you understand you are buying a used car and you get what you get. The part that works is that Abe will tell you what you're getting.
I hands down give this place a 5 star review. Ramon was the person who helped me find my car and initially I went in to look at one specific car, but he helped me find three more cars to look at within my price range, went over the specs of the car, gave advice before I went into my appointment and even during. I haven't had such a great experience at a car dealership before! I really like that they offer mechanical work as well! The manager even had the mechanics look at my car one last time before I purchased just to make sure everything was in top shape. I will definitely be coming back here in the future!
After hours and hours of looking online for a car for our daughter, we decided to contact Starfire Auto. The selection of vehicles and prices were unbeatable. There were many cars in our price range to choose from. We made an appointment, and made the drive from Bakersfield. When we walked in, it felt like we were at their house! After some discussion with Abe about safety and reliability, we checked out the cars that we selected. Eventually, we decided on one that they had just received and recommended. Abe is extremely knowledgeable about the cars on his lot and he is up front and honest. We left feeling like we got a great deal, and confident that our daughter has a safe dependable car. Don’t waste your time anywhere else!
I was totally impressed! Abe and Chris walked me through the entire process. Super honest, too. I’ve bought from big brand car dealerships and from private owners and have been screwed by both (false paperwork, lying about salvage titles, rags stuffed around leaks, etc.). But Starfire Auto has integrity. They were upfront about everything, from conditions of cars, to how payment works, to what to expect in the future with plates and title, etc.
Their customer service is amazing too. They made sure my car was ready to go and was up to my standards of expectation. Their web site spells out the answer to every question you will have, and gives very accurate descriptions of the vehicles for sale. I also like that Abe reached out and asked a few questions to help pair me with a car that would be a good fit for my family’s needs. Excellent! A brought a friend with me to help drive our new addition home who was equally impressed! Even though it had a few dents, for a 2003 Accord it drives very nice, A/C works, great Car Facts evidence of well-cared-for by service record and condition of interior. Very happy! I knew nothing about this, my wife discovered it word-of-mouth. Definitely worth considering, since Abe knows cars so well, honest, friendly. Great experience!

Purchased a vehicle through Starfire Auto's and the experience was overall fantastic! I arrived at the location for my appointment and test drove my current vehicle. When I returned, we started the paperwork processing and completed the purchase. I was on my way with my vehicle in less than 15 minutes! All questions were answered, with more than enough detail, to where I was able to understand exactly what was needed to know.
If you are looking for a vehicle, I highly recommend Starfire Auto's. The fear of having to fight for a reasonable price and/or dealing with a car salesman is no longer an issue. Starfire auto was an incredible experience. The follow up texts and emails were extremely quick and I really felt like a valued customer. Abe was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the car itself and its background. While there was one issue with the headlight not mentioned on the website (or I missed/misread it), Starfire Auto ordered the part I needed right in front of me and told me exactly how to go about fixing it. The “no nonsense” policy really makes buying a vehicle extremely easy. Definitely will work with them in the future and I recommend you do as well!
