  I’ve been buying from this company (jdm motor imports) for months now and all I could say is GREAT HELP and KNOWLEDGEABLE WORKERS and BEST PARTS I’ve never had an issue with the engine and transmission one of the office worker (Rudy) has been a great help along with (Adrian) and the guys in the back the skinny kid (Rigo) and the bearded guy (Chaka) are super knowledgeable and will help you with your engines and transmission did I mention that they deliver same day or next day too I highly recommend this company if working for a project car or just fixing your own car DIY or if you’re a shop owner this company WILL help you out

  Won’t cover warranty, once you take the motor, you can’t return it even if you have warranty or receipt…. Will make 1000 excuses for you , also will write there own online to cover themselves lol so lame. They are bully , disrespectful and won’t owned up to own small mistakes, bad business if you as me. But everyone experience is different, everyone need to make a living right haha guessing scamming customers is one of it. Oh they said cash only, people with fake money, bring it here , they will take it. Thank you for reading

  I’m from Orlando Florida purchase an engine from jdm motors. They work with me in find the right engine with great compression. They did their part by sending pics and pics of engine with the compression showing. Jdm import also gave me 30 days warranty which was great. . Also the shipping from Cali to Florida was right on time. This company was excellent with their service. Thank you

  Their guys lied to be about what needed to be swaped off of the American motor. Which caused me double the time to install it and caused me to underquote the job. Originally they said just the intake, so as I'm looking at swaping it, it clearly needs the wiring harness swaped over and they said oh yeah that too. So then I swap that over and a hand full of sensors need to be swaped. So no big deal I did that. Go to plug in the coils to find they also needed to be swaped over only to find out it needs the valve covers swaped out too. Get it In the car only to find out it needed the flex plate swapped so I had to pull it again. I was not happy. And they could have prevented all this by either saying they didn't know, or telling me the truth that all that stuff needed to be swaped EDIT: the motor they sold me burns more then 3 quarts per oil change and is supposedly low miles. Stay away, they are not honest. I'd accept a return but they don't care.

  all though there were a few negative reviews, i had an overall good experience. bought a transmission at a good price, shipped quick. sent to wrong place at first but they fixed it. very friendly customer service. would recommend and will be buying from jdm motor import again.

  Summary: Ordered a motor and transmission. the motor was great, the transmission was defective. JDM LB agreed to take back the transmission and cover shipping if I ordered a new transmission from them. then they went back on their word, refunded me 70% of what I paid, and made me dispose of the transmission myself. Customer service was friendly enough, but literally every time I tried to call and talk to someone, they asked me “Can you call back in 15 minutes?”, making the process take 10x longer than it should have. Full review: I ordered a k24a motor and transmission, and the motor was great. The transmission, however, was throwing a code. my mechanic worked with their service technicians who verified that the transmission was in fact faulty. They told me that they require the customer to pay for return shipping in the case of a bad component, but since i was purchasing another transmission from them they reluctantly agreed to cover return shipping. I order a new transmission for $895, and waited a little over a week. I called back because I hadn’t heard anything, and they told me (after I called THEM) that they actually didn’t have another transmission to send me. They refunded me the cost of that transmission and told me they would still cover return shipping. After I found a quality transmission elsewhere, they decided that they didn’t actually want the transmission back, but told me they would still be charging $200 for return shipping, and told me that I would have to dispose of the old transmission myself. Overall, I would avoid these guys. there are a dozen JDM distributors in California, and the process of working with the Long Beach location felt like they didn’t really care about the customer, they nickel and dimed me at every turn, and then the communication was horrible. I had to repeat myself every time I called, and nobody seemed to know what was going on, especially after things went sideways.

  Bought a JDM ej205 for my WRX. Was on a truck the next day, and in Denver within 3. Swap went smoothly, engine was clean and runs strong. They did well by me, and that's all I can attest to.

  Like the other 1 star reviews, they have poor customer service. Agreed on a price of a transmission, called back 2 hours later to set up a local delivery and right before its supposed to go out they wanted a 40% increase in price? Talk about bait and switch, nothing but a waste of time!

  Best decision I have made on an engine replacement in years... I purchase an engine from another company and even after 3 weeks they were not able to get it shipped to me, That company gave me a refund. Next i contacted Alex at JDM LA and needed an engine fairly quickly. He found my motor, and asked me to hold for a minute. When he came back he said if i can pay now, it would be on a truck in 4 hours. I gave him a credit card for about 2250.00 ish bucks. No kidding my motor arrived in 26 hours! I am 400 miles from the warehouse, so if you live further your time might be slightly longer. The point is they ship fast! About my motor! With the 2.5 subaru engine, I had to pretty much change everything except the long block. The intake that comes on it is Japanese to the vacuum attachments are on opposite sides. The water outlet under the intake had to be changed as well. The Japanese model uses a different sensor set up and hose location. The engine mounts fit but the oil cooler above the filter did have to be swapped as well. I changed the rear main seal and the trans torque convertor seal just to be safe. I pulled the oil pan and was happy to find they leave the oil in engine during transport. No issues with rust or any bad signs at all. Then i changed the valve cover gaskets, Again the motor looked clean inside. We also installed new timing, water pump, and thermostat. With all that, New injectors and plugs, we installed the motor. When we fired the engine up, it ran beautifully. No noises, no issues, just a great running engine! I am beyond happy with this purchase and highly recommend this branch of JDM to anyone. Again, i tried using a different JDM originally and they could not ship even after 3 weeks. These guys, 1 Day!!

  I hate to do this but I'm pretty upset. Took the 6 hour drive to long beach to purchase an engine that I couldve bought here in town and cheaper. On their ebay listing it says it comes with everything pictured. My family went to buy an r18 for me. In those pictures it shows it with exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter. In their own words, "Actual items pictures. What you see is what you get! We do not use sample photos!" I had called before hand and they told me it did come with it and everything pictured. Talked to the guy when my family showed up and then says they're sample pics. So I told him I would purchase another engine on ebay so I can get what I paid for. "Whats in the actual pictures" then they take the listing down. I understand if it's a federal law or whatever it is if they can't sell it. Then don't advertise it as is. All other companies show it with out. That's why I chose to go buy that one that had one on it and came with was pictured. You live and you learn. False advertisement.

  Purchased engine after providing the VIN and JDM saying it will fit my car. Price was $1000 including shipping. Well, engine doesn’t fit. I called to inquire about returning engine and JDM wantS me to cover their initial shipping ($185), a 30% restocking fee ($300), and I’ll need to pay for shipping it back ($185) Never again…

  If I could give them 0 stars I would. I was looking for a particular engine every time I called they would tell me they would call me back....never did. I would have to call back. And then after about 2 weeks of waiting for this engine, they said they had they realized it was not the engine I was looking for. Not only was their customer service horrendous but come on how are you "JDM Motor Import" and don't know what motors your importing??

  Talked with Rudy for over a week about getting an S14 Sr20Det. Told me his sister shop had one down in San Diego. I was stoked since my S14 is in the shop waiting for a new motor. He told me he had to have his guy pick it up In SD at their sister shop and he should have it monday of this week but to call around 10am to see if it's there but Tuesday for sure( he told me this the previous Thursday.) So I thought, Great! Let me let my mechanic know I might get it Monday but Tuesday for sure. Monday rolls around and he tells me he won't have it till Wednesday cause his driver is unavailable to go down and pick it up and to call back Tuesday to verify, so I let my mechanic know. I call back Tuesday and he tells me now they are waiting on it to get a compression check before picking it up and the shop is running behind and to call back Wednesday afternoon. I call back Wednesday afternoon and they tell me possibly Friday for sure Saturday and to call back Friday morning to verify. I say ok, and I let my mechanic know. Now, Everytime I have talked to Rudy I have made sure to verify this engine is an " S14 SR20DET NOTCH TOP" which he confirmed verbally every time. When I called him back Friday morning he tells me that the engine isn't an S14 it's a S13 Blacktop. What a huge waste of my time. My car has been in the shop waiting and now I have to tow the car back to my house and reschedule. How are you in the buisness of engine imports and mess something up like that?! I should have listened to the bad reviews saying people got sent wrong engines cause obviously they don't know what they are doing. Another note, these guys said they would call me back on multiple days and they would never follow through, I had to call them back.Great way to run a business! I would not recommend this place at all. BUYERS BEWARE

  The past 6 months I was hunting for a 6 speed transmission for my 2004 Celica GTS and couldn’t find anything until I came upon JDM Motor. These guys didn’t hesitate once they saw my email and kept me in the loop with everything I just got my transmission yesterday and honestly wasn’t expecting it till another week or so. Reliable, persistent and trustworthy is what this company gives. I appreciate y’all and would recommend this company.

  Picked up a TD04 Turbo for my 2002MY WRX for $308 tax included. Ran fine on car and seemed in good shape. I will be rebuilding my old one. These guys were very helpful, respectful and friendly. Game me some options on some of my concerns. And did offer to swap it if it had any issues. As we are having to go to State Ref. Thanks guys. We will be back for more stuff.

  I called and spoke to Del and he was very kind. Nick is the onefone who helped me with the CRV front nose cut that I bought. Nick even helped me disassembled the bumper and the headlights off the front cut so it'll fit in my car. The people here are very nice. I highly recommend this place for JDM engines and parts. They are close to Cherry Avenue exit off 405 freeway

  I purchased a JDM transmission and rear diff with 4.44 gearing. These guys were extremely kind, knowledgeable, patient, and their communication is the best I have experienced with an Import company. My transmission came with a 30 day warranty, it has been 1.5 months and my transmission is solid as a rock. No issues and I really love the 4.44 gearing. Thank you guys! I will be back very soon for an engine upgrade.

You are also a liar since you have no clue who I am apparently. The engine that was sent had spun main bearings. You refused to refund our money and HAD to get the credit card company involved. BUYER BEWARE.

  Don't do business with these guys. They sent me the wrong engine, took a month to pick it up, then won't refund the money. Have spoken to them 5 times, the last 3 times they said they would take care of it, but they have not. I will be taking them to small claims.

  Buyer Beware: purchased a "kit" from these guys on Ebay; supposedly a 6-spd & 5x114 + Brembo brake conversion for a GD WRX. The transmission, differential, driveshaft and rear axles did not fit together, and appear to be from different vehicles. The differential is from a Nissan, the driveshaft is from a WRX, which doesn't mate to the larger STi differential. The front brakes and axles had to be replaced because they were damaged beyond repair when they were delivered. I attempted to work with JDM Motor Import for 3 months to get replacement parts. They refused to actually take any action after I sent pictures and spoke with them on the phone multiple times. They were very polite the whole time, but they would never agree to replace the damaged parts, or the parts that clearly (identified by S/N and casting numbers) didn't match Subaru applications.

  I bought a Nissan Frontier V6 motor a year ago. It was the lowest price around and so far it runs great. A year in and it pulls strong and burns no oil between oil changes. Nice guys there and very helpful.

  Always have great JDM parts for my Subaru.. I bought an ej201 a while back and it ran like new.. I've also bought plenty of aesthetic parts as well.. Highly recommend this place, they will also do a compression and leak down test before you purchase a motor.
