I cant say enough kind words about how Edwin handled the problem with my car. The first thing I noticed about this shop is that it was extremely clean. If they keep their shop clean, they'll treat your car properly. I learned this years ago. I have a 2017 Infiniti Q60. My engine light has been on for about a year and the car would loss power every so often and regain it. I took it to 3 mechanics. The first mechanic told me that I should take it to the dealer..what!! Are you crazy? That'll NEVER HAPPEN!!! The 2nd told me he could didn't have the time to diagnose such a problem. Im going to tell you where the 3rd shop is so you can avoid. Its at 250 N. Hill, Gabriel's auto service. I walked into this shop and told Mike my problem. He literally said I need a new engine before he even hook his device up to the car. My car has a misfire code and he doubled down on the engine...are you freaking nuts? This leads me to Edwin and his band of noble knights. I dropped my car off at 4:30pm on a Monday so I know they didn't have time to even look at it. He called me the next morning at 10:00am and explained what the problem was. So it took him 2 hours to find the problem. He then tells me that that part is on back order at the dealership so he cant even get it. My stomach sank but the next words out of his mouth shocked me. He said he thinks he can take the old part, reprogram it and sync it to the car and its a 99.9% it'll work. And get this...for $150!!! I hang up and say to myself that I haven't had a $150 car repair in 20 years!!! Im skeptical but the next call I got cemented my relational with my new mechanic. He called me at 3pm and said your car is ready. I came home and told my wife that we have a new mechanic!!!
On a long road trip to drop my son off at college our air conditioning started malfunctioning. We pulled in very close to closing time and Allen expertly diagnosed a broken radiator cap/valve causing low coolant. They put water in our radiator and Edwin found and gave us a replacement cap that worked. Allen gave us advice of how to proceed to ensure the fix worked. We were very grateful that Allen and Edwin helped us, even though they were closing soon. They didn’t even charge us, which I personally appreciated! So far, the fix worked! Great and honest repair shop! My car stopped in the middle of the street last night, so I called Triple A to come check it out. The tow guy came to check the battery and said it isn't the battery. So, he had to tow it to a nearby shop. The next morning, I came back to the shop and they helped me fixed the problem without charging me. Highly recommended!
I have been doing business with Allen for several years. He and his staff are always efficient and friendly. They provide excellent service at reasonable prices.
I've been going to Certified Auto for the past 10 years now. During that time I've had 4 different cars and moved outside the Pasadena area. Despite that, I keep going back Certified Auto because they do excellent work, are honest and transparent. If they can find the needed part at a lesser rate or after market, they will let you know and allow you to make to choice.

They expertly replaced the rear shocks and airbag suspension on my Lexus GX 470. The workmanship was exceptional and the price was very fair.

I went in to get my A/C condenser and compressor fixed as well as my serpentine accessory belt. He fixed everything in 1 day and communicated quickly. He did not charge me any labor for putting a new belt in since he said he was already under my cars hood!

I have been here 3 times in the past year for separate issues with my car, and each time I am impressed by their quality of work and how they are able to get to the root of the problem. They are very efficient and provide excellent customer service. I trust them with my car and highly recommend them.
I've been coming to Allen's and Edwin's shop for over 30 years, with over a dozen major repairs, one a complete engine replacement, and they are superb! They are both very nice guys, and the work is always done right, or they fix it for free with no arguments. They are very honest, and don't recommend unnecessary repairs. They've kept my Ford E-150 van working well since 2002, now 31 years! They are very popular, though, and you may need to wait an extra couple of hours for your work to get done when they're busy, but it's worth it.
I am so happy to have found this repair shop. As a female, it can be hard to feel comfortable around auto shops and every single time the employees treat me with respect and are friendly and timely. I've needed to bring in my car multiple times for different problems and the turn around has been most 2 days. Pricing is upfront. 10/10 would recommend for VW repair
These guys are amazing! I have a pretty new Mercedes GLC and needed a thermostat replacement. After getting quoted almost $2000 by Midas (which I knew was ridiculous) I came to Certified Auto Repair Specialist and they quoted me $800 all in, and not only that, but they used authentic Mercedes parts and provided a detailed cost sheet. They had the car ready within one day and left my car super clean and in great running order. Thanks for going the extra mile and making me feel so good about spending money on a repair! Lastly, everyone I spoke to was so kind, great communicators, and quite articulate. Highly recommend!

I called to ask for an estimate and spoke with Edwin from Certified Auto Repair Specialist. My 2017 Cadillac Escalade ESV required the AC condenser to be repaired to get my air conditioner working again. The amount the dealership gave me was a lot more than I expected, so I called around to get some estimates. Edwin was knowledgeable and accommodating in discussing my car issues. He was also able to give me a quote half off than what the dealership quoted me. I was ready to bring my car to Certified Auto Repair, but the dealership said that they were able to extend the warranty on my car so I do not have to pay as much anymore. Long story short, based on my interaction with Edwin, I believe this shop is ethical, and I will definitely be going to their shop for future car concerns. Thank you, Edwin!
I've been coming here for years. My husband found this place when he was tired of paying high prices at the dealership. I would recommend this shop to all my family and friends. They have never once pushed me to get extra services done and have always told me what's urgent and what can wait until next time. THAT is reason enough to come here, in my opinion. I'm never scared what they are going to tell me whenever I bring my car in. I'm super happy with their service!
I brought my '99 4-Runner in for U-Joint replacement, and they discovered my entire drive shaft was broken! They quickly ordered the part from a Toyota dealership, and had the car fixed within a couple hours! They gave me a GREAT price, we're super friendly and honest, and have a new customer for life!
Allen was awesome with his accommodations. He also helped us meet a meeting to find a new place to live. He was also helpful on telling us how he was going to fix our car. He was very fair with pricing as well. Great experience for a short notice repair.

Allen was incredibly professional and took time to explain and point out all needed repairs and services and was upfront about the costs. As a woman, mechanics haven't always communicated with me in the most professional manner ( e.g., choosing to speak with my husband or male friends as opposed to me about my car) so my interaction with Allen was a pleasant surprise. I will definitely be going back!
They test drove my car then brought it back and put it up on rack right away. Then the main guy took me out and showed me what was wrong safety wise and wrote out what would cost itemized. I told them go agead with the work. They started on it right away and was finished by 11AM next morning. Very quick I was very pleased. Allen and Edwin were very professional and nice. Good job guys!

I came in for a pre purchase inspection. Allen was courteous, and thorough. He explained carefully what is and isn't tested and afterwards gave us a comprehensive run through including recommended repairs and how much he expected it would cost. Moreover, he asked us many questions about the buying process and gave us ample suggestions for how to negotiate and gave us advice to make sure we keep the seller honest and avoid buying a lemon. There was no pushing for us to come back once we have the car, but his professionalism makes him a front runner in my mind.
Allen has taken care of my entire family’s cars for about 15 years now and he has consistently been honest and extremely helpful about what we need and do not need. He always takes the extra time to make sure our concerns are addressed, his communication, transparency, and honesty go above and beyond what I have seen at other businesses like his. His thoroughness has been a source of peace throughout the years because we know the cars are always taken care of when we leave them there with him. Allen’s team has also always been very kind and educational when I ask questions. This place is wonderful and I would suggest it to anyone.
