Quick and efficient

Great staff and easy to drop off you just pull up like a drive thru and open the trunk of the car, suv or pick up and they take care of the rest. I dropped off few pounds motor oil, paint and battery it was quite a bit. Will recommend this place to anyone that live in all you need to drop off hazardous materials is live in the Contra costa county. They will ask for I.D

Reading the reviews for this facility was amazing since my experience last week was nothing like these. And then I saw the reviews were from up to 7 years ago. I had dutifully collected two bags of items deemed contaminants in a Landfill including household Batteries, CFL Lightbulbs, Paint and Paint Thinner cans, and Pesticide and Oil qt. cans with residue still in them. As I was signaled forward a Staffer scanned my ID and went back in the office. At the back of my SUV a large black man in his 40's with possibly an African accent pulled the two bags out and angrily yelled, "This is GARBAGE!" I said, "There's batteries and lightbulbs---" but he interrupted. "GARBAGE!!" he exploded and then once more louder and in a rage, "G A R B A G E !!!" through the back of my car, and slammed the bags into a garbage can and shut the door. I couldn't help but feel there was some underlying racist element provoking his blatantly hostile and irrational behavior. If the contaminants I brought in were not acceptable this could have been a teachable moment and an alternative suggested. But this was unconstrained verbal abuse and I guess batteries, CFL lightbulbs, motor oil and pesticide containers are to be tossed in the trash from now on. In any case I will NEVER return to this, "Hazardous Waste" facility.

I'm so thankful to have an drop off option for electronic waste. And you can bring used sharps/needles, including self-injection migraine medication, here too.

Fast and easy, stay in your vehicle, put the hazmat in disposable containers and they will remove it. They do a great service for the community!

Was able to take in oil and coolant mixed oil without an issue, just make sure to inform them if the oil is contaminated so they can dispose of peoperly. Fast, easy, and free. Professional crew.

Friendly people - 2 of them and they don’t accept tip. They swipe your resident ID to make sure you’re a resident of Contra Costa. Then they take the items from your car. Super way process. They take paint, electronics, lightbulbs.
