100 lbs per day per customer. None of the messaging states so. I brought more than that and was told to come back as many times as needed. Wack. 96~lbs yielded 159 and change. Not bad i suppose.

Great spot to come but make sure if you see a row of cars on the street, that is the line to get into recycle.

My neighbor recommended this place. When I got there thought it was going to be a long wait due to how long the line was. It wasn't. It went very fast. The guys are very friendly and helpful.

I believe that they be taking people money, they weigh it up but you can’t see how much it weigh so you don’t know how much you supposed to get only they do, they know that it’s only two or three places to recycle in the area and I believe they take a vantage of that, To make it fair to the customer there should be a digital scale that the customer to see how much their items weighed, Until then I’m a believe that they’re taking the people

Apart from the line of cars, everything went fine for me. Helped my with all the bags I had so that was nice. I weighed all the bags I had at work and everything was the same on their scale. I got paid then left, simple. Maybe getting there at noon will be faster than 3:20pm

In life we all need directive or guidance at some point and that def goes for this place. 1) form a line on Liberty Street across the street from the actual recycling center. 2) wait to be directed in, if after a minute no one has whisted or hand gestured take it up on yourself. 3) the line has no first come first serve priority. Get in where you fit in if you don't have enough cans to put your recyclables in stay in line and do it as you wait. 4)if you are walking/biking/ pulling a wagon your wait time is determined on how many people are in line someone working there will tell you how long to wait once you roll/wall or hobble up. 5) don't ask to many questions 6) go with the flow 7) they don't care who you are how many times u been there

Came to cash in quite a few aluminum cans. Workers are very friendly and helpful and got me in and out quickly. As others said, timing is key if you want to have a smooth experience. It is a small place and parking is limited. I came on a Wednesday morning and didn’t have any problem.

When they changed the way we wait I went to a different center behind Foods Co and Wells Fargo in Oakland. For the same amount that used to bring to you guys over there it was 10 to 20 less and I don’t know if it was because they were stealing or whatever it was, but I’m not going back there again. I’ll deal with the wait with you guys cuz your outfit have always been honest and helpful. .

As others have said, you’re supposed to queue in your car on the road instead of parking in the parking lot and waiting on foot with your bags. I’ve never seen this at any other place. There were no signs saying “Car line here” or “Do NOT park in the parking lot.” Accidentally cut 6 cars and the workers didn’t say anything (they saw me and another man park and walk up) until a man got out of the car line to start yelling. It makes it extremely inefficient to wait in line on the main road with your car running. Wouldn’t have an issue if signs told us what to do. Very confusing and upsetting for a first time customer, will never be back!

The area is setup in an organized way and very maintained. The staff keep everything moving in an orderly fashion, they are so courteous and helpful.

This is one of the least hassle-free recycling centers I've been to. There's no signage anywhere, but they make you "line up" across the street (pictured) before you can enter the lot. If you don't have a vehicle, I can't say for certain if they will serve you. Once in the lot, you can expect grunting and pointing from employees, unless you speak Spanish. Just walk towards the back and grab however many trash cans you'll need to place your recyclables into. The rest of the process is pretty standard. If this is my only option for a recycling center in my area, I may just start putting my recyclables in my blue WM bin.

There could be some confusion when you're new and there's not a line formed across the street. It just takes a second to explain the procedure to someone that's new. Other than that quick and for the most part efficient.

Got in line around 1130am. Came with a huge truckload of mostly water bottles and a bins worth of cans. A little less than an hour later after everything was sorted and weighed, I left $183 richer. Don't come in your nice clothes, depending on where you are and how much you have to unload it can get pretty dusty/dirty. No complaints about the workers either, they kept the bins coming as we filled them.

This place has come a long way....very organized, pleasant and helpful staff. Timing is key if you want to get in and out quickly. Smallest line is either first thing in the morning o rlate afternoon.

Once you get through the long car wait, it's a quick seamless process. There's no more than 10 people on the inside of the gate and all are masked. The only thing I don't like is that you have to take back all the containers they dont accept.

It was a hot day. When did they start asking for your drivers license before they paid you? Is that legal? I didn't see any signs posted that you were obligated to show your drivers license. I'm not happy about that. That was Friday today is Saturday. I have been waiting 15 minutes in the parking lot there is only one person in front of me. Yesterday 3 people unloaded at the same time. Why am I stitting here endless waiting for the one person to empty his recycling? When I entered the parking lot they told me to park in this stall. I asked the fellow if I could start unloading. He didn't give me an answer. After waiting 15 minutes I got out to ask one of the workers. When can I get started . He told me that it's self explanatory that i should have known to start unloading after I parked. The customer needs a little help and direction of what the procedures are.

This place is very honest, friendly service and fast. My first time there. I was instructed to stay in the line across the street.. when my turns to show up for recycle . I brought 2 plastic bags of plastic bottles,1bag of aluminum cans. Immediately ,I emptied my bags to 3 tubs. Immediately ,the recycle workers came to assist and brought it to the container office for weight. The lady in the trailer was very kind and helpful. After all the paperwork, she handed me my cash for recycle. The workers did the rest to empty the tubs. No mess,no heavy lifting. The whole process is a breeze. I saw someone complaint about the workers they don't speak English . I can assure you they all speak English and is the sweetest employees you can find. Let's give recycle place love and support. Beside ,the name say it all`American Recycle.' It is time to support American. I will be back for more recycle need. Let's imagine the place always gave support to the unlucky one and the under represent group who desperately need help and support.

When I arrived there was only 7 cars in line and 5 unloading. It went pretty fast. When I pulled up to unload there was worker's helping and when they saw I had zipties. They asked if everything was separated. I said yes, they said I didn't have to dump them into trash cans. They weighed everything in the bags,so that made it a in and out. Definitely easy recycle day.

They were very rude. They wanted us to park in their dirt parking lot when we didn't want to because we might get a flat and on there sign/policy it doesn't say nothing about that. So they refused to take us.

I drove 30 minutes to get here because it said it was open, and yet they were closed. I’m very disappointed because there is no phone number to call so you can’t check if it’s open. I’d advise not trusting if it says it’s open because it’s probably not.

Been there twice since the Alco location on Davis St closed down. Both times more than an hour wait. Drove by recently and they seem to have closed down. Feel bad for our homeless population as this is one of their main sources of income . Many centers have closed down, probably due to China's not taking our '"stuff" anymore and that's probably due to 45's "I hate Chyna" policies

They are not interested in making money or in good customer service. I'm sitting out front. Hours posted say they're open. They are closed. They've turned me twice away before as well because they don't seem to be able to do this work. One star is generous.

I don't know what people are talking about w/ their b.s. reviews. The people here is cool. I just went on Saturday the 16th of November. I met Alex the one who sorts the recycling. As soon as I asked him a question he introduced himself and said "I am here to serve you" his english is limited.. but still does the job right and fast! I had over 100lbs of recycling and I was out in less then an hr & that's waiting in line after I was nice to let 1 lady go in front w/2bags. They also have Jaime who handles the weighing & paying. He speaks perfect English & a cool person. Other 2 helpers that were there also work quick. So thank you to both of guys.. GRACIAS ALEX..DIOS TE SIGA Bendiciendo Fyi, they start closing up at 4-430 depending on how busy it is. & won't pass out the bins if they don't have no more $ to give u for the recycling Which makes sense. they close at 5pm.

10/15/2019 Make sure you are there by 4 pm because even though they state they are open until 5pm they will close at 4:30 and refuse to help you. I was here at 4:30 and the so called boss was closing up shop and refused to take my business. I would avoid this place like the plague they clearly aren't worth the aggravation!!! I would give a - 5 star rating and that would still be generous.

Save yourself from this rip-off. Even though the sign clearly says that they accept empty containers labeled CA Cash Value, if the package doesn’t specifically say the initials CRV, they won’t give you the money for them and they also keep your empty containers, probably so they can get the money for themselves. They don’t speak English so even if you try to explain to them that CRV means CA REDEMPTION VALUE, it isn’t clear they can understand a word you are saying. The guy behind me even spoke Spanish and they still wouldn’t take them, despite the sign, so it must be a racket.
