Been coming here the past 3 years. I use the exact same garbage bags and bring them here when I have 4 full bags of plastic (cause thats what my car will fit). I used to get $50 on average back in 2023-2024. Came here few weeks ago and got $42. Something ain't adding up so I advise to check your weights. Sucks because this place was really convenient.
I will never ever come back to this recycling center I am sure they shorted me I have had much less than what I turned in today and got between 30 and $40 today they gave me $21 I feel very robbed and I will never come back here again and I do not recommend anybody coming here and when I asked him he acts like he doesn't speak English total BS
Don’t believe to their prices list it’s not true, I bring my recycle cans there I saw it it’s 22lbs and some plastic bottles and only pay me 24 dollars , my goodness. They also don’t accept HDPE plastic even it’s on their list. What a scam.
Bad business!! Discounted 107.71 pounds of plastic to 102.5 pounds. 5.21 pounds times $1.47/lb = $7.65. Discounted 16.45 pounds of aluminum cans to 15.01 pounds. 1.44 pounds times $1.65/lb =$2.37. Total scam = $10.03!!! Confronted the worker, He said the cans and bottles were dirty. There was a slight dust on some of the the cans & bottles, not 5 lbs worth!!! He is discounting the customers but I'm sure his buyers are NOT discounting him for dusty recycle!! Stay Away, Go somewhere else. I have been to other recyclers, and have NEVER had recycle discounted for dust!!
They'll undercut you for everything you bring in. Do not believe their pricing list displayed, you'll get lower than the amount. The guy listening to obnoxious music undercut me by atleast 15$ .
Best Place Around Alameda and Oakland to Receyle Bottles and Can's. Fast and Efficient. The Guy that is there now does a Great Job at his Job. He is always by Himself but gets the Job Done and You get the Money ASAP. The only Place I go to now. Job JADO!!!!
The convenience is a star, the cleanliness is another.i have been beat at the scales and this is my second time. My math is simple; bottle weight x's per pound = $ amount. Today we had 2.5 bins of bottles at $1.47 a pound. Also cans and bottles.The weight on the cans were 13.90, 15.95. And 7 lbs. It should be = $36.86 . We received 27.10 for every thing. Shysters! Be aware
This place shorts you BIG TIME! We brought in at least 20lb plastic and 10lb can and only got just over $18 when I should've received closer to $35. Apparently we are not the only ones.
The location is very convenient for me and there is always parking right there. I always weigh my cans so I have an idea of what to expect to get in $. I've been there twice and the first time was close enough, but the second time was off enough to question the guy. So I would have to say, it's hit or miss if you are going to get a fair deal. If a business short changes you once, they will probably do it again! I will probably go elsewhere next time.
This place will short you on your amount if you bring alot. For roughly 100 pounds you only get 70 pounds worth. No one speaks English very not welcoming. Spanish rap playing loud the whole time. I've tried everything crushing them not crushing them and no matter what I don't get my full amount. I recommend just waiting for another place to be open during the week.
Please return your CRV bottles, cans, plastic, aluminum, and glass right here. Wine and liquor bottles now offer CRV, come here, return, get $.10 back/each. 10-5pm (everyday?). With so much trash on our streets, beaches, parks, why not pick it up and bring it to Jado's recycling?
They won't take basic recyclables like cardboard. Fail Update: I brought 3 bags worth of deposit bottles (approx. $5 worth.) The guy hands me a single and three quarters, then pretends he can't speak English! DOUBLE FAIL!!
Usually when a business states open at XX, it means that the business is ready for customers at XX, not 15min after. A little slow depending on the person that is working.
Best place to go for recycling. Convenient and helpful I didn’t know I had to remove the lids from my plastic the employee VERONICA helped me out with that I was very grateful as I had 4 bags of plastic water bottles
I am so P_O'd right now!!! smart recycling at SSC is closing; won't take anyone else!! I went there at 9am; it opens 10a-5pm. 'smart' lady closed before 2pm Keep true to your hours! I'm not going here again & I wouldnt recommend this business. {negative-3 stars}
The help in doing correctly was good and patient with me as I was not familiar with the process as haven't done in long time..didn't know they were back in area..so glad as will do what I can to do better at my recycling..
Terrible recycling place. The workers are incompetent, you need to take all caps off the bottles, and they don’t take bottles without labels. Any other place would not care. Worker cared more about his dog who was whining the whole time. not worth your time.
Not worth your time not going to get the full value for you cans or plastic. You can get more money for you cans at the drive thur Berkeley recycling 15 mins away. No hassle and they don't care if you don't take the plastic caps off your bottles.
I’ve been going here for about 3 months now and the workers are very helpful. It’s always in and out, no trouble and i always leave with a smile on my face and pockets full.
Dude working there took my bottles then walked inside and kept me waiting half an hour until the other worker, who was drinking rum tried to help. Lost count of bottles three times. They need to hire people that aren't strung out, worst experience I've ever had at a recycler.
They (workers) give you less money than it should be.i had to get $140.00 dollars for my aluminum cans ,they only gave me $ 96.00 dollars They pocket it around $45.00.check your weight total and make sure you get the correct amount.
Its normal to wait for recycling it doesn’t bug me but the professionalism and leaving their worker in the dark was definitely a no. The lady was chill but calling her “manager” for an hr for money for opening they had owed 4 people cash already. A hr passes a nice mustang comes along blasting music it’s the manager walking in with a limp holding his pants “what’s up” he says to the woman helper who looked ashamed and embarrassed. More waiting…I decided to give my cans away
Great to have at least this place, but it also shows what's wrong with America's way of recycling and garbage. Why is it so complicated and time consuming? In any other developed country in the world you just bring the bottles back to the supermarket and get your CRV back. Everyone participates, not just the poor. Recycling rates are like 90% in Japan and Korea, Germany 70%, USA 20%!!!
Absolutely my favorite place to recycle hands down. People there are really friendly and won't try to rip you off. Before I went to them I shopped around at a bunch of places in my area and they gave me the most by far.
