We were headed back home when, unexpectedly, our truck started running hot and we had to pull over. Full of anxiety and unsure of what was wrong, I Googled the nearest auto repair shop and Smith Auto Repair came up. We carefully drove the four miles there, nervous about the situation and whether we were making the right decision.
Let me tell you—choosing Smith Auto Repair was the best decision we could have made.
We were immediately greeted with a warm, welcoming smile by the woman working the front office. I truly wish I could remember her name, but I’ll never forget how she treated us—like neighbors she had known for years. She was honest and told us they might not be able to fix the truck, but reassured us they would take care of us no matter what.
Within minutes, a young mechanic came out (I believe his name started with a “K”). He took a look under the hood and quickly identified the issue. Simultaneously, the kind lady up front started calling around trying to locate the hose we desperately needed. A local shop said they could get it the next morning, and we were trying to figure out what our next move would be.
Then the young mechanic came back and asked us to give him a moment. Shortly after, he returned—with a used hose—and replaced the broken one on our truck. When we thanked him and asked how much we owed, he simply smiled and said he had spoken with the lady up front and told us not to worry about it at all. He wished us safe travels home and sent us on our way.
Hands down, Smith Auto Repair went well above and beyond. Professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and offering truly exceptional customer service. Five stars without a doubt—I cannot recommend them enough.
I definitely do not recommend took a trans in12/24. Picked it up January. It wasn't right. Contacted and he said he would get another. Then he forgot. So July I finally got the second trans. And it won't shift. Now I'm stuck impatiently waiting for a 3rd. That I absolutely have no faith in. I hope nobody else has to go through this. 8 months. Still can't drive my truck!!!

I had purchased a 700R4 for my 1985 C10 from Tim for my squarebody build. Had a new engine and rear end in it along with the transmission. Unfortunately early on something was wrong with the torque converter and transmission. I took it back to Tim and his crew and in a couple days they fixed it right up and it runs flawless now. I can’t say enough about their work, their work ethic and their knowledge on transmissions. Great service, timely service and they are by their word that your stuff will be most optimal running right. A big thank you to Tim and his crew! I highly recommend their business to anyone needing work on their transmission.
I can not say enough good. about smiths auto repair. They built my transmission a year ago. It was doing great. Have no idea what happened. But it went out again. I called them got my truck to them and within a week and a half. They had it done and on the road again. They are very professional and go above and beyond to stand behind their work. I just wanna thank them. For being a honest company. That's saying alot in this day and age.
Business was good everything was done on time and transmission runs fine so far. But just a heads up this shop did not use a metal hose for the transmission cooler which is not up to code you have to have metal they used rubber. Within one month of having the brand new cooler and rebuilt transmission the hoses busted in 3 spots. They might not do it to everyone but they improperly “fixed” my cooler. After letting them know and sending pictures they responded with that must have been a bad hose. Which leaves me to believe they either don’t know what there doing or they don’t feel like doing what’s proper. They still did not offer the proper metal hoses. Other then that issue everything was fine but please be aware because if we would not have caught it the whole transmission would have been ruined. I expected better from the “best shop in all of Arkansas” iam disappointed considering the reviews I read prior.
Best Transmission shop in NEA! Best price and quick service compared to other transmission shops in Jonesboro and I mean that too! I dropped my transmission off to get it rebuilt and they had it done the next day! Got it installed and transmission is shifting great! I did mess up on the exhaust it was vibrating in park so I took it over to him and took care of me in 5 min! I recommended them for someone that needs a bench work or complete rebuild! Thank you Tim!

I have a 93 Chevy, and my transmission went out, my husband took my truck to smith’s transmission and they were very nice and helpful over the phone, we took my truck to the, they got my truck done in a good time and were alway helpful throughout the time, never once had a bad experience with them in person or over the phone. And when I tell you they do a damn good job! Best believe it! My truck was fast before but once they did the transmission it’s hella faster!!! And she just glides down the freeway now!! They will forever be our transmission shop! Thank you so much everyone at smith’s transmission!!!

Excellent transmission upgrade, got a built 4l60 for my yukon from these guys. Will recommend them to anyone, and will definitely be returning again for future work.
Worst work I paid alot of money with a couple of month the rebuilt transmission went out. They fixed it and later after there second repair the transmission went out again. If it were a option I wouldn't even give them a 1 star.
...Tim and his staff are absolutely the best transmission repair professionals that I have ever experienced, they are honest (which believe me is getting harder and harder to find), they have the test equipment, professional tools, and knowledge to do the job right the first time.
