BUYER BEWARE!!!
I called on Friday to inquire about this transmission you had listed as a Grade A part for $250. I asked if it was indeed a Grade A part, working with no issues. I was assured that it was working and that it is that price because you have overstock and are just trying to move parts off the shelf. I was also told it came with a warranty, but it would not be ready to pick up until Monday.
I rented a car to come up there for what was listed as a Grade A part for it not to be even a working part. Far from Grade A if it’s not working! I asked how you can say it’s a Grade A part if it’s not working and was told it was a fresh pull and didn’t know until it got pulled, meaning it wasn’t already checked and run tested, or a Grade A part, as was stated. Then you tried to tell me you had one for $800 that is working, making me think that was the plan all along, bait and switch. Tell me you have a transmission that was verified to fit and is Grade A working order, and have me drive 3 hours one way, only to switch it and say that the $250 transmission doesn’t work but have an $800 one that will work. So you pull that one and proceed to tell me it has issues too?! And you want to know what I want to do?! After that experience?! And don’t want to work with me on crediting anything! I’m interested to know, what would you do?Jan 14, 2026 -

⭐ 1 Star – Witnessed This Firsthand, Completely Unacceptable Behavior
I am writing this review as William’s girlfriend, because I personally listened to the phone call and was physically present at the shop during this entire situation. What I witnessed from Payless Auto Salvage was rude, dishonest, and completely unprofessional behavior toward a customer who was simply asking to be treated fairly.
From the very beginning, one of their employees told William that he had a credit on his account. Later, that same employee claimed the credit was entered wrong and tried to blame William for their own mistake. He even told him he could “overwrite Oscar” for the credit, which alone shows a lack of professionalism. When William calmly said that wasn’t fair and that a business should stand by what their employee tells a customer, the employee became rude and hostile and threatened to not help him at all.
I personally heard the tone on the phone call, and it was dismissive and disrespectful. When we arrived at the shop, it got even worse. The employee stood there with a smug grin, clearly antagonizing the situation instead of resolving it, and actually told William to “lose their number.” As someone standing there watching this happen, I was shocked by how openly disrespectful and unnecessary the behavior was.
The parts situation was just as bad. They sold him bad shocks twice, and at no point did they properly correct the issue or make it right. They also lied about the tie rods, claimed they were bad, and said they threw them away, leaving no option to verify or reuse them.
To top it all off, they had William drive an hour and a half to pick up a rack and pinion that they knew he was coming for. When we arrived, the boot was completely busted. There is no excuse for having a customer make that drive when the part was clearly damaged beforehand.
This review is not written out of anger — it is written as a warning to other customers. I personally witnessed this treatment, and no one should be spoken to or treated this way by a business, regardless of how “big” they are.
I am strongly urging management to respond and address this situation. If this behavior is ignored, this experience will be shared further with the Better Business Bureau and on Facebook, so others are aware of how customers are treated here.
All William wanted was honest communication, working parts, and basic respect. What we experienced instead was the complete opposite.Dec 29, 2025 -
⭐ 1 Star – Management Needs to Address This Immediately
I am leaving this very detailed review because what I experienced at Payless Auto Salvage goes far beyond a simple mistake. I wanted basic customer service, honesty, and accountability. I don’t care how big of a business this is — customers still deserve respect. What I received instead was disrespect, dishonesty, and repeated bad parts, with no effort to make things right.
One of their employees told me I had a credit on my account. Later, that same employee said it was entered wrong and tried to blame me for their internal mistake. He even told me I could “overwrite Oscar” for the credit, which is extremely unprofessional and concerning. When I calmly explained that it wasn’t fair to a customer and that they should stand by what their employee told me, he became rude and hostile and threatened to not help me at all.
When I arrived at the shop in person, the situation got even worse. The employee stood there with a smug grin, clearly antagonizing me instead of trying to resolve the issue, and told me to “lose their number.” That is not how any paying customer should ever be treated.
Then there’s the issue with the parts — which was unacceptable. They sold me bad shocks not once, but twice, and never corrected the problem or offered a real solution. No replacement that worked, no accountability, no effort to make it right. On top of that, they lied to me about the tie rods, claiming they were bad and saying they threw them away, leaving me with no way to verify or reuse them.
The final straw was when they had me drive an hour and a half to pick up a rack and pinion they knew I was holding for pickup. When I arrived, the boot was completely busted. There is no reasonable explanation for having a customer make that drive when the part was clearly damaged beforehand.
This review is not about nitpicking — it’s about patterns: blaming the customer, selling bad parts repeatedly, wasting time and money, and treating customers with open disrespect. I am posting this as a warning to others so they don’t experience what I did.
I am also formally requesting management to respond and address this situation. If this is ignored, I will be taking this matter further by sharing my experience with the Better Business Bureau and Facebook, so other customers are fully aware of how situations like this are handled.
All I wanted was honest communication, working parts, and basic respect. That should not be too much to askDec 29, 2025 -
I bought a transfer case and I don't use it and I was thinking to have some credit or my refund but they saying no I have to keep it and from the day that I purchased it take me like 4 days to notice that I don't need it. So I don't think that's ok but if somebody needs a transfer case, I got one for a '96 Jeep Grand Cherokee

They gave us the wrong parts. We called and ordered a back axle but when we made the trip to Rogers from Fayetteville to get the axle; it was completely shot.

I had a great experience with Payless Auto Salvage in purchasing a replacement tire for my Chrysler 200. It is as easy to find the inventory online using their website and I simply called to confirm. I paid in advance over the phone and they were able to pull the tire off and had it ready for me to pick up the next day. I imagine you can also come to check out the part before purchasing if you prefer. Note that the receipt says no refunds although they may exchange a part if there are others in the junk yard.

What a wonderful experience working with Chase and Oscar! I was pleased with their graciousness but quite disappointed that they had parts listed that I wanted to order, only to be called back and told they do not have them. Waste of time!

I don't know what all the bad reviews are about. Maybe someone just had an off day. Anyway, these guys are really helpful and courteous. I walked in, one of them finished his phone call, then called another guy on his radio, and he showed me to the car immediately. I'm going back for another part today!

I have been to this place multiple times and received rather good service in spite of the 3 star rating they already have. I guess I made a huge mistake. I walked in at 4 minutes till 5:00. Door was open, everyone at their desk, also gate was open to get in. I told them I needed a part only to be told I would have to come back tomorrow. I said, I can't! I'm going out of town and need the part today!" He replied, "Sorry, all my guys are already gone." I said, "I was told it was already pulled." He said, " I know but I would still have to go back and get it."
Ok, so I'm confused! Are you open until 5 or do you advertise that and actually stop earlier? I guess you don't want my business!! I won't be back and I will tell everyone I know not to buy from you.Apr 29, 2021 -
Called spoke with Sam he was very rude right off the bat.... He gave me a price on the part I was looking for said it would be next day before they could pull it I asked him if it was possible to get it pulled today so I could get it to my mechanic so my car could get fixed and his words exactly were DO YOU EXPECT US TO DROP WHAT WE ARE DOING FOR A $75 DOLLAR PART...... Must have to much money and doesn’t need mine nor will he ever get it..... What a tool

Had 4 wheels, asked over the phone for the cleanest one, went to pick it up and it had a massive gash. Wasn't about to ask to see the others due to the extremely awkward vibes in the office.
To be fair, it's possible the wheel they gave me was the nicest one... Possible.Feb 19, 2021 -
Sam a good guy even when cold outside you should see him I'm glad I did just needed coil over pack (1) wasn't too costly sam even a rarity anyways

Just talked to Sam to get a price quote. I've bought parts here before. Never again! He was totally rude and hung up on me when I said the price was more than I wanted to pay. Not even caring that there other parts I was looking for for the same vehicle and others I'm working on. I called back to ask why he hung up and he was even more rude! HE CAN TAKE HIS PARTS AND SHOVE EM!

Excellent customer service with great pricing on spare parts. They may sometimes be busy with multiple folks calling, but they took down my information and called me back the following day to confirm my order.

Started my business with Payless a year ago. Bought a truck and the motor was hashed so I was recommended to them. Sam sold me a great motor! The motor has held up with no problems! I even got one of my friends to buy a motor and it's had no problems! Sam and his crew are awesome people with great prices and quality parts!

HE is a AWFUL person an business, I've been told to write the BBB about them, to try to bring awareness to this company and there scamming. They are scamming people with bad parts, and not sticking to the exchange policy. They take your money and tell you to get lost when you point out that there part is bad or don't work, they ripped you off , they get very rude and start calling you names. This is very bad place to buy anything from, and I have been informed if I can get more people to write to the BBB they will take action faster.

I've been to this place twice, both times to replace a bent rim and both times it has been an amazing experience. Amazingly cheap for a rim WITH a tire in close to new condition, the friendly staff never fails to help you get what you need (especially the guy with the ponytail upfront!). Always seem to have exactly what I need, when I need it, and way more selection than u pull it. Their system actually keeps track of which parts are on the cars as well. This will be my first choice to go to in the future.

Great employees, extremely helpful to someone who wasnt car knowledgeable like myself. Good prices, very fast to answer questions, even if they were common sense to most people. Highly recommended.

The experience that I had at this salvage yard was very good! The employee I talked to was very nice, polite and helpful. It took me a little while to walking around the yard to find the vehicle I was looking for. But when I found vehicle, I got the part I needed off myself and I paid a very reasonable price. I was in and out in about 45 minutes.

Bought a set of parts. When received the shipment some tabs on plastic pieces were broken - negligent dismounting of parts. Also one part was missing and refused to refund. Said UPS stole it. Really!? Will not come back for any parts. Rude employee got personal when I told him about the problem and hung up on me. Will not answer emails. Buyer BEWARE!

Here is my first experience with them. When I was looking for a fan blower motor for my 2000 Toyota Celica they had about 4 or 5 options. They had 2 celicas and, I think, 3 scions with compatible blowers. I hadn't gotten around to checking everywhere yet but the places I did check didn't have any celicas with blower motors still in them.
They charged me $20 cash or $21.80 credit/debit. I pulled off a couple vacuum hoses while I was at it and they let me have them for free. If I had found it at another yard it might have been cheaper, the fact is I didn't find it anywhere else and it was still a very reasonable price.
Worth noting that they did offer to pull it from the vehicle for me and call me when it was done. It sounded like this would have been free. I didn't opt for that in favor of not waiting and hoping it was cheaper if I did it myself, though it doesn't appear that it was any cheaper.
Also they have a public searchable online website for parts. Something I haven't seen with a lot of other places.
Conclusion, not the first place I would look for parts, but it might be the last.Aug 25, 2016 -
Man talks to customers like trash and should learn some manners but other than that the price was reasonable. We had to come back five times to finally get our radiator so we are never returning here.
