What clients say about Yavapai Metal Recycling in Dewey-Humboldt (AZ)

I came to recycle some cardboard and left with a front-row seat to the most dramatic pyrotechnics show in town. The recycling center was on fire—and I don’t mean metaphorically. Staff were impressively calm, like, “Yeah, just toss your cans in the bin next to the flames.” Talk about dedication. Pros: • 🔥 Free entertainment with every drop-off • ♻️ My plastics got melted down instantly—efficiency at its finest • 🚒 Great community engagement (the fire department showed up too!) Cons: • Slightly toasty atmosphere, bring marshmallows • Hard to tell if the smoke counts as “recycling air” Overall: Would recommend if you like your recycling with a side of adrenaline. Five stars for turning “reduce, reuse, recycle” into “rescue, run, repeat.”

Wasn’t impressed with the dirty facility. I took in aluminum cans and they gave me 40 cents per pound and deducted $2.00 for water. There was not that much water as I poured it out at home. From now on I won’t waste my time and they will go in my recycle bin.

Pulled in at 4:44pm ( 1 minute till closing time) with 12 batteries. The staff was awesome, friendly, efficient, and a true pleasure to do business with. Drove away with $103.75 and a smile. (@.15 per pound, that's 691 pounds of batteries.) We will be back soon. Thank you Yavapai Metal Recycling..

I just took a all steel trailer to this place and I feel ripped off because they catorgized it as sheet metal. I would not recommend this place at all.

I don't know if I have ever been to a place of business where 100% of the employees are as friendly, helpful, and service oriented as Yavapai Metal. It is a joy to work with these guys. Good job everybody and kudos to management for awesome hiring and managing.

Wanted to give a HUGE shout out to Mark and Faraon!! These two young men helped my brother & I unload our trailer in a matter of minutes. If it was my pained look when I asked if they could help? I’m not really sure but they did help & were quite delightful! 3000 lbs of steel unloaded and some fun conversation. We all felt pretty good about doing our part. Keep rock’n it Yavapai Metal Recycling!! You have a great team! ♥️👍🏽 Thank you!!!

The staff and management are extremely rude and 3 of the 4 times I went there I ended up with a flat tire because they don't do anything about nails etc on the ground. You don't get paid enough to even cover your fuel cost let alone having to fix a tire. Not worth it. Other places I've gone to actually had a person go by at least once a day with a magnetic strip to pick up small shards and nails because they cared about their customers and repeat business. Not once have I ever gotten a flat tire going anywhere else.

Retired now. Few years and when prices were way up, I did all my business with YMR and got to know them well. Yup, did a whole lot of business with them and they are indeed TOPS!

Im not terry but i was warned not to go to this place and they were right the owner is a douchbag that is rude as hell. they didnt even know what a transformer was and they will rip you off. I had heavy iron and they would not give me heavy iron price. Unscrupulous to say the least. And let me comment one more time on the owners they'll only banter with you if they feel they can steel from you!!!!

I was dropping off some scrap steel and saw some flanged pipe that would be perfect for a project I am working on and is unavailable at any local store. So I loaded it up and went to see how much they wanted for it. They refused to sell it to me. They claim to have a policy against selling to the public. I understand they may be concerned about people getting in the way or climbing on the pile, but none of these things happened and I had the metal on my truck. If they don't have the accounting software to sell they could have traded me for the metal I brought in, which was worth far more. This is poor customer service, poor business sense and poor recycling. The other recycling places still sell to the public and in my experience have been great to work with.
