I like the set up of the scrap yard. But some of the ladies in the main office are some of the rudest people. Very disrespectful and smug! It’s technically a customer service job. They should act like it.

I have been here over an hour. This is definitely not worth the time it takes to recycle

my third trip to this dump, the only thing they will take from an individual is aluminum cans, have to have a business license for anything like old brass fittings old copper, and they won't take shit unless your a business. All I did Is clean my dam yard, and pretty much treated me like a criminal..will never go there again and encourage everyone else to boycott. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND

had a car to scrap with open title in hand and they wouldn’t take the car, before i went over i even called to verify that the transaction can be processed and they said they could, not sure why they would lie…

They're cool when you have only a little, but always ready for the big loads. I recommend coming in no later than a half hour before closing so you can get in and get paid, avoid the rush near closing!

HI I need to know why my employees turned in 240 pounds of aluminum /copper radiators and you paid out for 25 pounds. please explain your 215 pound subtraction and why that would be legal.
Oct 27, 2023 -
Beware!!! They will lie about the price!!! They aren't honest!!! By the time you look at your receipt, it will be too late!! The receipt will not match what you were told!!! When you confront them, they refer you back to the gal in the office. She has her canned rehearsed story and you have been ripped off!!!... Shady place!!!

Pre sorted my scrap from work #1copper 39lbs ,#2 copper 60lbs, and dirty brass 180lbs. The bum working the scales said its too much time to weigh them separately, told him ill take it somewhere else and left. They staff nothing but rude lazy scammers. Can it recycling will get my business from now on.

INJURY AND/OR DEATH RISK!! Firstly the customer service at the front desk was dismissive of our questions regarding what metals are accepted and would not provide us with the information. After going over the scale, I was asked to pull my vehicle directly up to a massive pile where a large crane was dropping pieces of metal. Metal shards were all over the ground and they were having me drive my tires over top of this area. Huge sharp metal pieces and frigerators were falling from the sky and the staff wanted me to back up right next to this pile to unload my scrap. I asked the staff if the crane was going to stop dropping items and he insisted I continue to back up. This back and forth persisted until I was shouting that I would not back up any further unless the crane stopped due to my own safety and my vehicles safety. At that point he walkie talkied the crain and asked the operator to stop. The concern for my safety was absolute minimum. I was unwilling to risk my life and my car to deliver scrap. I left immediately and will do my business at a locatiom where I dont risk my health. I shouldn't have to argue with someone to get them to stop dropping metal from the sky. Absolutely ridiculous and insane.

I have made several trips here to take various scrap metals, water heaters to beer cans and everything in between, I don't scrap for a living and don't know what brings better prices when scrapping, but the guys here do, and every single time I have a mixed lot of odds and ends they have helped me break it up to get the highest pay possible, teaching me what to cut off or separate from say a radiator to get more money by taken a few minutes to cut copper off aluminum and other little tips I never knew

Terrible experience! This place is a joke and a rip off. The workers were rude and unprofessional. I brought 8 stainless steel braided hoses in and they tried to give me $3.34 when stainless steel price was .54 cent per pound. When I looked at the receipt it said I had tin. When I made a comment about it one of the employees decided to re-due the amount only to give me a new ticket for $3.74. After waiting another 10 minutes while all the employees stood around snickering and shaking there heads at me. It was uncomfortable and awkward and Im pretty sure they put the decimal in the wrong place. They would not explain anything to me when I asked. Instead they just laughed at me. So to be perfectly honest I crumbled up the receipt and threw it on the ground. Apparently they need the money more than I do so I never cashed it in and I will absolutely never go back. That's not the way to adequately run a business when people are having a rough time as it is trying to make money these days. Very disappointed in you SA Recycling & myself for adding to this ridiculous behavior, but come on guys...get it together!

I had a very positive experience friendly staff but a lot of un professional flirting going on between staff members. Some of the things i over heard being discussed was just totally out of line and inappropriate. Other then that it was great!

I occasionally do some plumbing on the side and collect a little scrap metal. Last trip there was so bad I just left most of what I brought there and told them they could keep it. Not worth the hassle and I surely didn't appreciate being treated like a fourth class citizen. I'll just throw the metal away from now on. This place truly sucks.

Man! The men and women at SA Recycling have always treated me good, I have been going there for years and had only one problem, the next time I came that problem was gone. The people at the scales are knowledgeable and fair when it comes to metals and pricing, you won't be disappointed.

Always super smooth and easy transaction here. Great access from freeway. I'm in and out as fast as I can unload, hardly ever any wait. If I do wait it is only for minutes.

Brought in 8 bags of aluminum cans. Any other place I'd get 8-20$. Should've went to the one that has paid me better. I unloaded my cans to a blue recycling bin-which according to them it weighs 44 pounds. So my cans came out to 17 pounds and got 3 whole dollars and 4 dimes. Yeah. Not coming here again. Other places use chicken wire.

I was only here for maybe ten or fifteen minutes, but I was thoroughly impressed with how helpful and courteous staff were! I've never met such nice scrapyard employees! To be fair, I've only been to a few scrapyards to date, and ultimately they weren't able to help despite their best efforts, so one star off for that. I'll almost definitely come back when I need more of a whole machine than a single part!

Called, and we are out of town just to see what their prices were so we don’t have to drive all around Tucson getting prices with a truck and trailer attached. You know shopping around what any other person would do coming 2 hours out of town to bring a company our business. Anyways. So we call and a Hispanic lady answers when asked how much they’re giving for aluminum and how much it goes for she didn’t know and had to ask. Well then she comes back and says between 5cents and 37cents a lb then we asked well can we have a rough estimate then she started ranting about how if she tells us a price for what we say we have and then we get there and it’s not what we have then there’s a problem and so on she just kept going and going and we didn’t say anything finally got frustrated and hung up. Number one I don’t know why this woman who doesn’t know anything about where she works is answering the phone and number two I don’t think it was very fair her calling us liars right from the start. We simply asked questions any person would ask. Such rude customer service I definitely don’t recommend this place.

!!!MUST READ IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME!!! This morning I dropped off exactly 500 pounds of Aluminum at SA RECYCLING. The load was compromised of Aluminium siding ( 35 yr old and never painted except for factory coat. After 35 yrs in Tucson weather paint was actually transparent), unfinished billet aluminum, unfinished window frames, and 2 radiators with ends removed. There were at most 50 short hex head screws in the siding and was told that it was dirty aluminum which I assumed(well out of me not them)was $.30 a pound. I receive my ticket and notice that it said tin. I go to the window and was told it’s $110/ton. I stated my claim and was told rudely dirty is dirty. I have no recourse at this time. I would have taken out the few screws if it was a matter of $125 dollars. I figured that the difference of $.40 for clean and the $.30 for dirty was $50 but the $27.50 I ultimately received was a $122.50 difference and I feel ripped off by there unethical business practices. I occasionally scrap metal in Chicago and have never felt swindled by anything other then the current market value. I understand that they must feel underminded considering China’s demand and how contracts are contrived, but it is what it is and that’s the business they are in and by no means should the polarity be on us, the unaware customer getting swindled. Also having read this review PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE understand that these reviews are needed for accountability. I feel the ratings for this place have been equally unbalanced in there favor due to ridiculous rave reviews for otter pops for kids. I’m guessing the mother dropping off crushed cans while running errands with her children has little to no conception of the manipulation accruing. Although it is a very nice gesture they are children and should be top priority and treated as such, but that respect and curtsy should be extended to all customers. Proceed with extreme caution. Hopefully knowing the possibilities is half of your battle and my experience wasn’t SCRAPPED.

I took a load of scrap stel 3780 pounds worth. Easy to go through the scales easy to unload, no problems what so ever. I'm going to take 200 pounds plus of Aluminum cans down this week. I want to see how they handle other types of metals.

Dispatch lady was rude the 1st time i came here. Very unprofessional and not helpful..was yelling.. I believe her name was Maricella or Marcella. She shouldn't be in customer service . What made up for it is when i came back on a Saturday and I was helped by a young lady named Sara but I think she spells it different. She was extremely helpful and polite. Not to mention helpful and professional. I know now to come on Saturdays when people that care about their job and are helpful work.

They have some new processes, so we had to check my ID card four times each time he handed it back to me I don't know I just didn't hang on to it! And then the manager wasn't there to sign the check so they had to mail me a check.

this place was great for ur scraps. we got 14.70. for a broken washer. although the a couple of employs were rude and a lil paranoid about me taking pictures of the site and company. asking my grl friend who was i and why am i taking pictures. correct me if im wrong? but dnt people have a right to take pic's of wut ever? its not like i was a undercover. i asked why i couldn't take the pic's if it was jus for google map app. she contiuned to say it's are policy! if any one knows about these kind of situations please give me feed back. good luck to the people that try to snap a flick. i still kept the ones i snaped. and took 1 more thur are car windshield. the employee was really upset and jus kept giving me the stare down. i felt like telling her let me see paper wrk sumthing that states what she claiming. pissed me off .

I understand supply and demand very well and it makes perfect since . But when I see someone with two small bags of cans make $20 and I bring in four or five med. of cans plus other good metals and make under ten..... Now there is something wrong with that picture.

arrived at 4:20 to unload a trailer full of steel only be told "we're closed" asked what time they closed, scale person said "4:30" pointed out the current time still was turned away!! I live in Oro Valley so it was quite a distance back & forth with a full trailer but will make the longer drive to the Scrap Yard on Ajo & Country Club for the better customer service!!

My son has used them a few times. sometimes they are great, sometimes they are rude and slightly crooked. Prices do fluctuate with the market people, just like home loans. It's all about supply and demand. Sometimes they do help you unload but again sometimes they are understaffed just like any other business. And if you think the scale is off, simply ask to try another.

Can you say NIGHTMARE from entry into this place until out the gate. Other people that have described these people as rip off artists nailed it. I took a 40 ft aluminum awning in weighing supposedly 180 lbs, that is questionable, when do you suppose the last time their scales were certified? Probably never..will be checking with Dept of Weights and Measures on that one. And then you get to the back to drop off and they proceed to tell me that half of my load is contaminated with steel, perhaps 3 small pieces, possibly 10 percent , if that, which they will pay me a whopping .08 cents a pound for, they claimed the load was 50 percent contaminated. If it was 50 percent steel, it would surely have weighed more than 180 lbs...back to the scale issue. Then primo rate for my clean aluminum was .30 cents a pound, even though aluminum cans pays .40 and steel was at .50 something, somehow the math didn't work for me...maybe english math is different from spanish math, probably the case because all the discussion on my load took place in spanish...of course. Don't plan on their staff helping you unload either, especially today when the place was the biggest muddiest mess you can possibly imagine. Needless to say I will never return and I will make it my business to make sure none of my friends use this place either. If you are wondering why I would give them even one star, am unable to post without it, otherwise it would be no stars.

First and last time I ever go there, WORST experience ever! Not only did they make me do all the labor to empty my bags into the bins, but they were the cheapest in price per pound. Not to mention that they take an additional 5% off the bottom line, for liquids in the cans. (Never heard that before) BUT THATS NOT ALL FOLKS!! Their scales are 20Lbs off. I weigh my self about three times a week and have been between 180 and 185 for all of my adult life. When I stood up on the scale, it read 165. What a bunch of THIEFS! All of the metals are weighed on that same scale, so if you go there often, you should look more into this or just go else where. Nothing but crooks over their. I will never go there again.

Fully impressed by the whole operation. We rolled in and were clearly directed where to go and weighed in, unloaded and weighed out in a really timely fashion. The scale guy and cashier were really nice and professional and the cashier even handed us otter pops as we were leaving.
