There does not need to be border patrol here. They serve absolutely no purpose.

Don’t tell everyone online you need a CVI for your dog which costs about $300 if you don’t even ask for it. Waste of freaking money, literally just threw it down the drain.

Crossing into Alaska we got in line here and waited our turn to get back into the USA, we presented our passports, answered their questions and the guy at the window had a great sense of humor, and made my wife and me laugh as we drove off. each border crossing is a different experience and this one was great

Came back from day trip to Canada through here. About as easy as it gets. Showed passports, answered a couple questions, and off we went.

Top Notch! I've seen Canadian (Beaver Creek) be a pain in the ass to pass through 2/3rds of the time. On The Alaskan side, they have always been help-full and efficient. Last year, I drove to Anchorage from BC while my child and his mother flew up. They didn't mind me calling every few days to check on the Covid and border status and requirements in advance of my trip. And when I got to the border and handed over my Canadian Passport and US passport, they remembered my name from the calls, gave my dog a treat and we chatted it up for 15 minutes about road conditions. It's always a pleasure dealing with this border station and will be doing another trip this summer. It never hurts to call ahead to see if there are any special restrictions. As with any border crossing. Know exactly what's in your vehicle and be honest with them. If you cross with 10 bottles of booze and tell them you only have 2, your gonna end up with a fine and loose 8 bottles. (If your lucky).. It always helps to tell them what your traveling plans are. To where, for how long and so fourth. And they'll probably give you done great traveling advice.

40 years overdue for review but all officials and staff were very efficient and welcoming back circa 1995 or so. Looks like consistent high marks. REASON for ref today is mention of a large (200 feet tall if not more) stone tower I must have hallucinated when coming in from the S, anticipating the border "down in that valley coming up." Not in habit of hallucinations. Appreciated only the raised eyebrows on the "Stone tower? What stone tower, sir?" when asking about it. Then a vehicle search, of course, but I almost ordered one up! Only noting now w/internet and review options; hoping I'm not alone seeing that tower. (prob just put myself on some list, too but used to that). Cheers.

I believe I was greeted by a Mr Young. He welcomed me back to America. Out of the all the customs experiences I've had in this country and others I believe that was first time someone actually welcomed me into the country. Thank you Mr Young, I am glad to be here.

Best US border crossing experience ever! First time to cross Alaska on a family travel with our fur baby and the officer even gave us a cookie for him, such a great gesture.

I have anxiety and was dazed from my long drive, and so when crossing I had a hard time following instructions. The officers were very kind, respectful, and patient with me and repeated instructions and asked further questions so that I understood what was needed of me. I appreciate them, and am very happy to be back in the States!

That was the nicest border crossing I ever experienced, and I travel a lot. Thank you, Alaska!

I told the US Border Agent that it was good to be back in the US. He said, “Welcome back.” It sounded heartfelt and I don’t think I will forget it.

My lord Officer Chan could not have been any nicer! Professions and courteous and lenient as I made a few mistakes. Found out she is a true lover of dogs and fell in love with my Wheatens. Just a very positive experience from a wonderful officer. Bless you officer Chan. We absolutely do hope to see you again!! Paul, Fin and Cooper

We passed through this border crossing a few weeks ago on our drive from Washington state to Alaska with our dog. The US border agent was very friendly and professional. He checked out passports, asked us if we purchased anything in Canada and gave our dog a treat. There was no line either so we were through with a few minutes.

I passed thru here in Mid May of 2022. I got a young 30s something white guy. I gave him my passport and he asked what was in my vehicle, I gave him an answer. Apparently, that answer wasn't "good enough" for him and he eventually made a snide remark. Towards the end of the interaction, he brushed me off with his hand. I would've appreciated a more welcoming gesture, considering it was my first time travelling the Alaska Highway, and all alone at that. Oh well, just goes to show they'll let anyone in the U.S.A. The whole process of entering was easy enough: 5⭐️ but the agent could've worked on his customer service skills. Especially, when my tax dollars are paying him. Update: June 2024 - I just remembered on my drive back to the states in mid-September 2023 that there is a sign that says come to a full stop when heading leaving AK going towards Canada at this station. I don't know why there would be a stop sign when leaving AK to Canada other than to relay to the Yukon Border Station that a vehicle is coming. I don't know if they can even do anything to you for not obeying this stop sign when leaving AK considering it's just border patrol and not L.E.

The one particular officer I dealt with was unprofessional, rude, arrogant, had a huge ego.

Border patrol officer did not really care about us crossing the border. The only question he asked was why we were crossing. My friend was moving to Alaska with a bunch of stuff in the back of his truck and the guy did not care about any of it. He looked at our passports and we were through in 3 minutes. He was kind of a jerk, though, and gave us smart comments all the time, so the process of crossing was a 5/5 but the agent himself was a 1/5. Guy was clearly power tripping.

My husband and I crossed from Canada to the US at the Alcan Port of Entry on August 9th. We were almost out of diesel so stayed overnight at a turnout right after entering the US. The next morning we evaluated our situation and knew we could not make it to the closet gas station. We did not want to run out of diesel because it is hard on the engine if this happens. We headed back to the US Alcan Port of Entry and CBPO Berg was very accommodating in listening to us and helping us to figure out what to do. Both his professionalism and astuteness were first class. He gave us some diesel so we could make it to the nearest gas station. We wanted to compensate him for his kindness, but he would not take anything from us. I commend CBPO Berg and thank him immensely.

So rude I’m trying to leave Alaska bc I have another job waiting on me back in the lower 48. I was told I could fly back but, what about all my house hold goods really. I’m not trying to see Canada’s country side just drive thur that’s all in an out in like 20 hrs. I will never visit Canada again nor will I travel thru the Alaskan/Canadian border! Maybe they need to Reevaluate their own life both the US and Canada BPA.

Border agent was rude over the phone. There is no sense in allowing citizens to call the border if the agents will be impatient and rude while answering questions. I would not reccomend calling during the carona outbreak as they are clearly being put under a large amount of stress.

Yeah, back in the United States!!! When the gentleman asked about my dogs and left for a minute, I thought they were going to check their papers... but he came back with dog treats. What a great welcome to Alaska !!!! Thank you.

Very rude and condescending. The Canadian side is much friendlier, as is the US Skagway border crossing. Maybe the power has gone to their heads and have forgotten they are still human like the rest of us. (4th border crossing in 2 weeks)

The woman that questioned us seemed rather stern and very serious about her job, but we passed through with little issue, once she confirmed we had no firewood on board....Now, there was a rather large stack of store bought wrapped firewood piled up on the side of the road, so firewood smuggling is obviously a real issue. It did have me wondering however, if had we been going the other way, would we have been asked if we wanted to buy any firewood? Discretion being the better part of valor, and not really wanting to spend the night there, I kept that question safely tucked away in my mind!
