Had a situation where this tow company had a very aggressive driver. Called to let manager know and he hung up on me telling it was my fault because his truckers don’t act that way. Yes they do, aggressive and rude. Calling city to make formal complaint if they tow for city. Ask for owners name and the guy hung up again. No professionalism at this company.
The guy I spoke with over the phone was very rude and unprofessional. The yard is closed on weekend so you can’t pick up your vehicle from 4:30pm Friday until Monday but they still charge for those days even though you have no choice. I would not recommend anyone to use this company
This company is a rip off. My daughter’s car got stuck in the snow, was towed within the 4 hours she left it until the snow melted. We called and left several voicemails to Big Blue Towing to see when we could pick it up, when we finally talked to someone we were told she couldn’t pick up until the next day even though it was before the closing time listed on their website. The next day we finally talked to the owner and was told she has to call before coming to get it to make sure he will be at the lot…she has several classes and only has hour long gaps in between making it extremely difficult to get her car back as Big Blue Towing only answers our calls occasionally and never returns voicemails. Not to mention they charged her $370 to tow the vehicle 4.3 miles. She is an 18 year old college student on scholarship funds. Price gouging during winter storm weather is unacceptable. (Side note…you would think with the fees they charge they could afford to pay someone to sit at the lots to answer phones and let people pick up their vehicles)
After another towing company never showed up I contacted Big Blue Towing. They answered right away and were very helpful. Vehicle was picked up on time and delivered to requested location without any issues.
This review is based on my experience with the woman answering the phone. Unfortunately, I can't review the rest of the company because she was so rude, short, unwelcoming, and distasteful that I took my business elsewhere. I'm sorry that my call to provide your company business was such an inconvenience to her day.
Overall a good experience. The woman who answered the phone and took my information might’ve had the worst customer service skills imaginable. Unwelcoming. Bad attitude. The gentleman I spoke with that picked up my vehicle was great. Good attitude, great communication, kept me updated at every step, and let me know when my car made it to its destination.
Great service! I was referred to Big Blue by a local dealership when my companies work van broke down. Rusty responded quickly, hooked it up and actually dropped in a service rack at the dealership. Not from the area, but highly recommend using Big Blue Towing
This has been the absolute worst towing company my family has ever had the misfortune of using. Extreamly high prices compared to other companies, the man tried to charge even more till the police officer told him he was trying to charge more than was allowed by city ordinance. The very rude man who came to "help" made the day 10x worse with his horrendous attitude.
It was today, under my husband's name "Randall Ryan" the car was ran off the road by an 18 wheeler, it was just pulled out of the mud. It was a white toyota camery.
Crooked company do not trust them. Big blue price gouges also writes the wrong dates on there tow papers and will charge for extra days your car wasn't even there ...
Big Blue Towing was very responsive to our emergency situation. Their dispatched driver was kind and knowledgeable about the type of engine issues we were having as he shared insight on what we needed to do next. I am very thankful for the professionalism and compassion Big Blue Towing showed towards us.
Had to have my car towed to a shop and Big Blue was great. Easy to work with, reasonable prices. They even left the paperwork in the car for me. Thank you!
I had my vehicle towed by Big Blue, and the customer service was great. She told me to contact AAA, and they would handle the expenses. The driver of the company called me and said he would be at my location in 20 minutes. I like courteous people who say what they mean. I usually use Big Blue for towing because they arrive in timely manner.
Truck driver in town pulled out across several lanes of traffic, several cars had to slam on their brakes, he then cut across another lane to get back over.
No signal, cut off several cars, very reckless and agressive.
Even worse, when I called the office to make a complaint the secretary that answered the phone refused to let me speak with a supervisor, she sounded very annoyed and disinterested, and sarcastically said she'd let a supervisor know.
She obviously isn't going to.
Very fast came put my donut tire on within 20 minutes $100 for the service however they are a bit pricey when it comes to my attempted purchase of two new tires a price of close to $600 for two tires I think not no hard feelings I went to Opelika purchase two new tires $284.00 brand new. Win
wouldn’t recommend. first the lady in the office or who ever it was hung up in my face when i was trying to give her the addresses and the information for my car. we have been waiting for 3 hours no calls nothing. so we called back up there to talk to them and the manager had no idea. manager told us to find someone else so we did if you need a tow give Tiger towing a call they have the best service. but not this company!! have a great day!!
Charged me almost $300 for a 40 min tow, then when i go to pick up my car from the dealership my front bumper is coming off with huge chunks of paint coming off of my vehicle. I paid all that money just for them to damage my vehicle. Do not recommend.
AFTER reaching out to them concerning this matter i then got told i was a liar because my vehicle doesn’t have tags yet. They refused to offer me any kind of help and told me neither them or the dealer caused damages to my car and called me “untruthful” this company sucksssss go anywhere but here
The guy rusty was very sweet and helpful. I wish I could say the same for the ladies answering the phones.They were very short and not informative when I was trying to figure out where my vehicle was and how to get it. I understand that they’re not the ones who are doing the work and can’t give all the answers. But she could at least be nice to customers. I got hung up on before I had the chance to ask the questions I needed to know. I got my boyfriend to call and see if he could figure it out or get more information and he was faced with the same issue. My car was towed because it was broken down and it was not drivable. instead of using big blue towing to bring it home I decided to go with shane’s towing to get the job done and had a much more positive experience. Customer service is a big part of your business and this one is lacking in it. They’re more expensive that the other companies who are actually nice. big blue would’ve gotten a 1 star if it weren’t for rusty.
I was towed one day and was charged $75. The same car was towed two days later and was charged $170. The reasoning I was given on the phone was that it was because they had to get a second truck because it was an AWD and I was charged for both. They never asked if it was an AWD and expected me to know there was a difference in the kind of truck they used. If I tell you what kind of car it is and you know it has a chance to be AWD you should ask. Don’t throw an extra charge on a customer because you brought the wrong truck because you were not prepared. Will never use this company again.
My son broke down and APD called this company not him! On the phone they asked the location and said it would be $90 to tow it to their location which was not even 5 miles.... FINE....when the guy gets there he says oh yea that's $200+ mileage +$40 storage fee! $275! After I told him on the phone not to touch my car I had someone coming! He said the reason was because he had to stop another job and come to to my son but he knew that when he gave the $90 quote! Everyone have their own prices and that's fine but don't switch it up for your own personal reasons!Be fair!

I used Big Blue Towing today after leaving the key in the ignition and draining my battery. The person who answered the phone wasn't the most polite but the tow truck guy "Joseph" was phenomenal. I will use this company again just because he was so kind and knowledgeable. I greatly appreciate Joseph for the fast and friendly service he provided to me and my kids, because of him I am giving a 5 star.
I Work For Ray's Collision And U Could Not Sent A Nicer driver. I really had a great time even though my truck was having problems. Great guy please keep him on the payroll. Hard to find employees like him. Thanks again curt barnes.
One of the worst customer service I've experienced. Simply asked basic questions, and what came back was negative attitude and demeaning tone. I'd recommend a new person who can resemble some sort of professionalism to answer phone calls.
My son's SUV broke down in a parking lot late last night, and we had to get it towed this morning before the business opened. Some times it's hard to find people first thing on a Saturday (especially on a home game day Saturday), but Big Blue was available for us. Mark was incredibly friendly and professional on the phone and was able to have someone to us within the hour. The young man who came, Troy, was extremely nice and did an excellent job loading & unloading my son's SUV. If I find my self in need of towing again in the future, I will definitely call Big Blue towing. If anyone needs a tow service, I definitely recommend using Big Blue towing.
Tow truck guy was very rude!! I was trying to give him directions to pick up my grandson's truck which was in a rural area and I couldn't understand where he was. I was being as nice as I could to help him find it and he had a smart mouth. He said "Well I'll just drive around at $3.00 a mile till I find it!!"and hung up!! Rude, rude, rude!!!! If I could give a zero review I would!! I was so mad I forgot his name but this happened this Monday September 14th around 3-3:30. He towed it to a dealership.
John is a great guy. If he can help you, he will. My experience was great because of the friendly people that work in the office. They had compassion for my family & I and that goes along way. Thank you to the people at Big Blue Towing.
-TERRIBLE Experience, Will NEVER use Big Blue again. The driver we just had to deal with was super unprofessional, a straight a-hole,completely unsympathetic, and was just money hungry. My girlfriend had just gotten into a wreck and “BIG Blue” was called to come tow her car. And when the driver gets to the scene he starts off as being a douche by yelling at us to get out of his way (we are no where near him) . So we go get into my truck. He thens walks up to my truck and throws a card in my face and says this is where your car is going. So we follow him there and then yells at us being on the property while he is trying to unload the car. (Okay we can understand that and we proceeded to wait by the gate) he then drops the car off and comes to get out of the gate and proceeds to lock the gate saying we can give him 150$ right now to try and drive it off the lot. I asked “okay and if it doesn’t drive off? Can I have my money back?” He says no and now it’s 300$ for asking questions. And he is going to rack up all the charges he can on us. So we just ask to go get the remainder of the stuff out of her car and he says no it’s going to be 150$ to get her stuff out. So we both get mad at this time and storm back to my truck and he proceeded to lock the gate and leave. -TERRIBLE Experience, Will NEVER use Big Blue again.
