I'm a 78 yr old woman. I've bought parts at the Leeds store 20-+ yrs, but after today, I will never buy anything at this location again.
I bought a die Hard store brand battery on 3/26/2025, I've used it maybe 5-times, so it had only been 6-mos. When it wouldn't start. i jumped it off. Then I took It to the Leeds Al Advance store. They were not helpful. A younger man, was rude. He said, it was the weather or my lawn mower that had caused it not to start now. He said he was being helpful but that I didn't want their help. A older man there, the one who had sold it to me the last week in March. He said, it was past the 90 days. He tested it, he said it was good. I said, I had jump it off with my car, so of course it is still fully charged now. Then He said, its good, so for me to take it back and used it, but if it goes dead again to bring it back. And he will test it again. This is Not helpful, it doesn't solve my problem. I have a month of leaves to blow. I ask the older man if they would pro rate it and swap it out. he said No. I don't want to have to jump it off every time I need to use it this fall. I have never had this problem before with a new battery. Advance Auto and the die hard battery don't give good customer service. I am not a Happy customer. I don't need their sorry customer service and I sure won't buy the worthless Die Hard battery that they have to sell ever again !! If I had only seen the reviews on google. I would have seen that it mostly doesn't last past 3-mos. So be fore warned.
The crew is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Appreciate them and the information they give on where to find what is needed to purchase for our vehicles.
Customer service was amazing. I walked in having a bad day and for the lady behind the counter that made laugh an made my day well laughter is a great cure. Got my parts and a few more. Prices are higher but I will return
On Sunday 9/11/2022, this store was abruptly closed with two customers standing outside. The only employee in the store locked up the store and left the premises while two customers were still standing at the door. He told us that no employees came to work and he was there by himself, so he left.
Return core parts! I ordered my steering gearbox from online store. I did this because it had to be ordered and shipped anyway. Why not just send it to my house. I looked online to make sure I could bring my core back to a store close to me. Me and 4 of my boy used the store in Leeds for years. The store manager. Told me that she got a email this morning saying that I would have to mail the part back. To the main store. I we'll NEVER USE THIS STORE AGAIN. And everyone I come in contact with and will make sure they go to a different store. Oh, yes I carried to a different store. They had no problem giving me my money back on the core. Store Managers should be able to help their customers not run them off!!!
I got a refund on my purchase but only because they didn't have the correct exhaust coupling needed to make the thrush glasspack I ordered fit. Bummer 😕👎
Extremely unsatisfied, came in for headlights and when they were rang up they were $25 over the price tag, it was brought to who I'm assuming is the assistant manager on a power trip said he wouldn't honor the advertised price for them, i won't be returning after this experience
The lady at the front was nice, but i asked a guy about an oil filter cap tool he took me to where they were. I asked him which one would fit and he laughed and said" i have no idea" then walked away. I have been going to this location for over 15 years and have never seen him before so i won't hold it against them.
As a woman, going to the auto parts store can be intimidating. Alan was so helpful!! He helped me get exactly what I needed and although he didn’t install it for me he told me and showed me what to do. He couldn’t have made the process easier. I will definitely be coming back in the future. I highly recommend this place. Alan was very helpful, very nice and knowledgeable.
They had just what I needed at the best price on the strip, (I called all four national shops before purchasing a generic item. Location didn't matter as they were equadistant from my position!)
Lot and store were clean. Store was well stocked with all kinds of things that I didn't know how to use because I'm no mechanic. Gentleman greeted me as I came in, Big John I think. He got what I needed, rang me up and sent me on my way. Less than 2 minutes.
I took the part to my car guy, he put it in, car started, all is good in my world.
On the way home a tire blew when it was punctured by a piece of metal that fell off of a local company service truck from a nearby town. The driver stopped. Changed my tire. Took the bad one to the shop and bought me an exact match. Got it mounted, balanced and car aligned. Put my spare in the back and locked it down for me.
Wished me well and bade me a cheerful au revior. I made it home.
The only reason I gave a 1 is you can give a 0. Told them when I first walked in I didn't buy the starter ,then he he told me I didn't buy it. He was calling me a liar. Tried to explain again but he wasn't going to here it. By the time I left I was so mad he said he was going to come across the counter and me harm.then the other guy told him to go into the back. I will keep shopping at advance but the pell city one. They took care of me good.
I definitely prefer Advance over AutoZone it's a little bit smaller store but they carry a lot more material or product they seen the staff is way more educated and knowledgeable with cars and Automotive repairs they also test your alternator is your battery and your starters for free install windshield wiper blades and batteries and other small accessories when you purchase them. They also have an excellent loner system you can leave your credit card on file and take any specialty tool home with you if you get the job done and it's free of charge when you return it and good shape they put the money back on your card no problems ever use this many times
The store was organized as usual and the employees were helpful and polite. The whole staff at Advance has always been knowledgeable about the parts they sell. The best part is that they are usually cheaper than their neighbor Auto Zone.
They where very helpful and in formative on what we needed. As a woman I am very concerned when I have to go to these places,I feel secure buying here.
The battery was dead in my truck. Had to call AAA to jump me off then went to Advance Auto to buy a new one. Reasonable price and they installed it! Thanks Advance.
Excellent service from great people. There's definitely a noticeable difference from other part stores when it comes to the staff. I drive past a lot of part stores on my way home but I'm not stopping anywhere else but here. I've been there done that and won't be doing it again cause this one is the best.
Staff not knowledgeable or helpful to me. Asked to have check engine light codes read, said he couldn't because I had a fuse blown. Didn't offer to help and walked away and went back inside. I figured it out and went to the store down the street from them.
Always good parts (MOOG), usually in stock, if not can be ordered for next day pickup. Found it best to order and purchase online and then do a pick up. A lot of times the online prices are cheaper , plus there is always a discount coupon around somewhere. (My last 2 orders, I had a 25% off coupon for both , plus free shipping to home (if I wanted)... but picking up in Store is quicker. (Highly recommended).
