My boss David at Epicure recommended I call Powell to have my car towed to the shop and I’m glad I did! They got some one out there within 20 minutes to get my car.
We had a blowout on I-65 heading to Birmingham and I called Powell's. They had a wrecker to us in a short time. The driver (Preston) was very helpful. I asked him to take me to the nearest shop so I could get the tire replaced. He had me at a tire shop within 10 to 15 minutes. I would highly recommend Powell's if you ever have any car issues
930pm on a Wednesday night…called em up he was there in 15 min and got my 68 Camaro on the flatbed without a scratch…I’ll use Powell for towing anytime and I highly recommend them. I was expecting a crazy bill and it was way lower than i expected for what and how he did the job.
I used Powell Wrecker Service through my Auto Insurance on June 16, 2025 and was very satisfied with the Service. Daryl was the Driver and he was very Professional, Conscientious and Meticulous in how he Loaded/Unloaded my High Performance Car which I really Appreciated. Unprofessional Conduct, Invasive Photo, and Lack of Transparency
I am writing about a negative experience with Powell Wrecker Service in Prattville, AL, regarding a car lockout service on April 16, 2025. The technician's name was Darryl.
While Darryl did successfully unlock my car, the rest of the experience was highly unprofessional and concerning.
Payment Pressure & Intrusiveness: He stood uncomfortably close ("hovered") while I processed the payment via the link. He also inappropriately asked for my personal phone number right after giving the official company number, seemingly to track the payment personally.
Invasive Personal Photograph: The most disturbing action occurred after payment when Darryl insisted on taking my personal photograph with his phone. He claimed it was "proof" I was in the car, which felt unnecessary (vehicle photos/VIN/tags were already documented), invasive, and degrading. This is not a standard practice I've ever encountered.
This combination of actions left me feeling singled out and uncomfortable, raising concerns about potential profiling.
When I attempted to address these issues with Powell Wrecker Service management via email, their responses were evasive. I specifically asked for clarification on their company policy regarding the taking of customer photographs. Unfortunately, in two separate email responses, the company completely avoided answering my direct questions about their policies. Instead of providing transparency, they simply repeated that I should call their office and speak with the owner, avoiding accountability via email.
Because the company failed to address my specific concerns or clarify their policies directly in writing, particularly regarding the invasive personal photograph, I have chosen not to pursue further direct communication with them. However, I believe it is important to share this experience publicly.
This was an unacceptable customer service experience due to the technician's unprofessional actions and the company's subsequent lack of transparency. I will not be using Powell Wrecker Service again and advise others to be cautious, especially regarding potentially invasive practices and the company's unwillingness to address concerns directly in writing.
What started as a dreadful morning was alleviated by Powell Wrecker Service professional and very promp response to our needs! Thank you so much for your help!

They went above and beyond for me. They came to get me immediately after my car broke down. They were super helpful on rental car services and super understanding and gave me time to figure out a plan without charging me for everything I own. I wholeheartedly recommend.
Bryan was an awesome guy to deal with. He made it real easy and literally went above and beyond to help us out. I'm in customer service myself and that's definitely how you do it. Highly suggest.
When the AAA Wrecker Driver left my wife broke down in a undesirable part of Montgomery,I was hot on the phone for a real professional to respond for help. They were the heroes that jumped to my call. A Fair price for the service was a bonus for us. The Powell Wrecker Driver was very helpful and courteous and Professional. I would recommend this company to anyone
that needs help from a dead battery or a tow to the repair shop.
Stranded on hwy 231 with nothing but rain and frustration I called Powell Wrecker Service. Driver named Joey arrived fast with an outstanding attitude and very professional. If I need a tow I will call Powell and ask for Joey if he’s available. Nothing but praise for Powell’s service all around. Best Yet !
Can't say enough about Powell Wrecker Service, LLC. Within 10 minutes of making the call, Jake was there to tow my car for me. I appreciate him making sure my kids were in his truck and out of the rain quickly. Both the dispatcher, Samantha, and Jake were super nice and professional.

Absolutely awesome service within 20 minutes for service after midnight! Answered the phone right away when I called! After calling 2 other companies. Driver Mr. Joey was very quick to get my truck charged & started! There was only one mistake made! Me not calling these guys first!

My husband and I had a tire blow on the interstate. We spent an hour on the side of the busy interstate trying to get Progressives roadside assistance to be of use. After so much time and no assistance we took matters into our own hands. We called around and were turned down by multiple companies but this company was a God send. Preston was so quick and efficient and helped us safely get back on the road. We appreciate this company and would recommend them to anyone!! So kind and professional.

Was rather fast to our location, and jumped us off in less than a minute. Gave him my card and we were on our way in less than 3. I didn't latch the hood all the way down and he even called me after passing me on the road to let me know it was still up. I was really impressed with how good their service is so if you live in the Prattville area they are probably the best to call.
Fast, reliable, and competitively priced,. I've known Jake for a long time and wouldn't recommend anyone else. Everytime I call them, they travel to wherever my vehicle is, in more than reasonable time, and carry it anywhere I need it. Call only Powell for your wreckers needs!
Jake came by yesterday and picked up my truck that would not start and took it to the repair shop. He was vey friendly, polite and took careful care loading my truck. Have used Powell over the years and the service has always been “VERY GOOD”
I called the wrecker service because I had a previous good experience with the owner. I called because my daughter had broken down on the interstate far from any exits. I gave him the location and Jake Powell had a truck there within 7 mins. I know had I called my roadside assistance it would have taken much longer than that to just find a provider.
