Terrible employees horrible prices not worth the hassle order something new not some junk from this place that is the same price as a new part.

I made a mistake and there was a already broken windshield and they charged me 200 for the broken windshield which I paid because they pressure me to pay and we’re threatening me that they were calling the cops on me. Genuinely beside that they overcharge and majority of the parts you can find new for the same or even cheaper price if you look.

They tell you they have vehicles in the yard you're looking for to waste 3 hours for them to not have a single one and tell you oh well we don't inventory our vehicles

Savannah made the overall check in process super chill. Extremely friendly and informative. Not something you typically find at all junk yards, so way to to.

They list parts on carpart. When you call they say we don’t have vehicles newer than 2015 but they list at least 2 parts for 2016 and 2019. Impossible to reach someone. They guy picked up the phone asked me what I’m looking for, went to talk and laugh with someone than hung up on me. Typical junk yard. Junk parts junk employees

Absolutely would not recommend, I bought a transmission for $2,021, had it shipped to me, installed it and it is no good. I call in just expecting a simple refund as I understand that they cannot road test these units. Dan told me that at that price point I should have expected it to be junk, sold as is and nothing they will do about it. I just ordered another trans from another yard for $2,000 shipped in that is tested and good. Dan refused to help me at all and told me I did not buy a warranty even though I was never offered one. But I think any customer would assume you should not have to pay for a part when it doesn't even work upon install. Very frustrating, I told Dan, this is just knowing the difference between right and wrong, who would pay $2,021 for a transmission knowing it is bad, and who would not give a refund for a bad transmission. I was not asking for any labor reimbursement, only for what i was out because of a dead on arrival part.

Great junk yard, this yard has a lot of older vehicles with a few newer mixed in. The front desk area has a bunch of used tires for sale. Walk in sign in go look for parts, bring parts back to the front desk, and pay for them.

Excellent service!!!!! Called and they came the same day. Very VERY happy!!!!!

I give Gibsons 4 stars because there are not many walk in yards like this. I've been going here on and off the last 15 years. But don't waste your time selling them converters was offered $200 for a dpf and cats after standing at the counter waiting a half hour. Laughed walked out and got $450 from the next place. Low ball much?? And I'm not mad just want others to realize there's places that will pay a lot more than Gibsons.

You walk in say hello, sign the sheet, look at the 10 buck tires and contemplate buying them but you honestly don't need more tires right now. Then you check the hubcap bin just to find 3 outa the 4 caps you need. So you put them in your bag. Then you walk out the door and are greeted by crashed and bashed cars and trucks as far as you can see. Yet you know this yard so you go to the back left of the yard where all the old Ford pick ups are and wander around looking at cool iron. If you did not know, you can just ask the folks at the front desk. You enter the yard. You find a truck that looks like it could have your part, you open the door just to find.....ITS FULL OF DUMP BEES!!! You slam the door and run away leaving the part and bees behind. You mentally mark that truck as cursed and come back in winter time because the bugs will be dead. Onto the next truck. The yard masters move about the yard in their giant machines moving wrecks too and fro. If you ask nicely you can have them lift a vehicle up so you can get something from under it. Upon your quest you meet some fellow yardlings. They much like you are connoisseurs of classic truck parts on a budget. You warn them about the cursed cab of yesteryears truck. In turn they thank you and exclaim where your part may be found. You bid him farewell and continue your quest for what ever it was. You find the thing! Online they wanted too much for it. So you took the quest/adventure to see if you could pull the part. While going back to the main building. You record location of trucks that have parts you will need later. Take a gander at the old classic cars just past the fence to the right when you enter the yard and finally head back in. Head over to the desk to pay. They check you out make sure your not stealing. Grand total. 4 bucks United States Freedom Dollars. It cost more in gas to get there than the handful of parts you needed. Its part of the adventure of life. Is it perfect? Nope...its a junk yard. Yet they always treated me nice and charged me fairly. Unsure what happened with these other folks. I try and go when ever I need something. Sometimes I just go for fun. God bless

Shady. Make a deal online and pay, then drive 350 miles only for them to remove a key piece of the part I bought already. When I arrive and notice, they say it's additional and costs extra. Prior to this, horrible communication. Would not deal with.

Maybe a good place to find used car parts but don't take your scrap there. They will give you half of what the other scrap yards will give you.

Moved away from the Fox valley quite a while ago so I was considering going to a yard closer to home but I couldn't find anything anywhere near as good as Gibsons so I made the hour trip and remembered why that was hands down the only place to go first. Found everything I needed in great shape and couldn't beat the prices anywhere else (called about 10 other yards). Love that they let you go pick your own parts and they're willing to work with you on prices for some parts. Ended up being able to fix a vehicle myself for half of the amount the insurance deductible would have been. Fixed for $500. Will post before and after once finished. Can't believe the great deal I got and sure other yards might make a bit more but they aren't keeping customers or gaining referrals like Gibsons is. Great business, great employees. Keep up the great work!

I've been going to this place off and on for a couple years. Today I sent one of my workers in with 180 lbs of clean aluminum gutters and downspouts and aluminum facia. They gave him 5 cents a pound because they insisted it was unclean aluminum and he unfortunately didn't know any better. I've brought these same types of loads in time and time again and never had an issue.

Quick, professional, always happy to work with them when I need to get rid of a vehicle. I am so happy one of my friends recommended them - as long as I'm in the area, I will never call anyone else! Thanks guys!

These guys are the worst junk yard out there. I order a steering column and ask to make sure there was a key with it. when i received the the item there was no key in it . they said they zip tie the key to the column but there was not even a zip tie on it. i ask for a refund mind that i paid 90 dollars for shipping for a part i cannot use they would not refund me. it was going to cost me 90 dollars again to send it back. why would i waste my money to send it back. the worst place to do business with i would not recommend to do business with this place. THESE PEOPLE ARE A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

Absolutely terrible customer service from the manger. Was told an engine would be pulled and ready for us to pick up Saturday we were thirty minutes away from our three hour drive and told it was not ready and won’t be ready at all that day and we were also told that whoever told us that it would be ready was lying, we repeatedly asked to make sure it would be ready by that day and we were told yes everytime . we tired to get our money back and they wanted us to wait an extra 4 days for our money back. few days later after we already got a different engine from another company they called saying the engine was ready. terrible experience don’t recommend for business.

I called and got a price for a fender for $35. I went in and took fender off. When I went to check out they now wanted $50. I told the guy I was quoted $35 over the phone. His answer was it wasnt him I talked to and his price is $50. Its almost like they just make up prices depending on the day or how they feel. Definitely get names etc when getting a phone quote. Many years ago the prices were listed on a board when you walked in and everyone knew upfront what things cost.

Loaded up 1640lbs of aluminum that myself and a buddy spent 12 hours cleaning up and got 80$ because of a couple self tapper screws

I love the junkyard! Its a place where dead cars go so people can go yank parts that DO work out of them. Its alot of fun. The staff could be a little more friendly but what do you expect?..

First time coming here. They have a huge selection and had a lot of Saabs. Definitely worth the drive to get here.

I picked out a Duralast Platinum 24F battery today. It checked out good but was not fully charged. They said come back in an hour and it will be ready to go. I came back to find out they had sold it to someone else. Seems pretty lousy. I didn't realize i had to stand guard over the battery in order to take possession of it...

Went to buy a visor for my car. I was treated as if I didn't have a clue what I was doing. The man at the desk was less than helpful and said, "Well, I don't know what you need." Customer service in the parts area is poor. The man at the desk needs some training in how to be helpful. You lost a customer because of his lack of service.

Easy process, pull the part yourself or have them pull it for you at an extra charge. Depending on the part, expect to pay between ~1/2 of retail to full retail. Cash. They don't haggle anymore, so be sure to look up the cost of the part online before you buy it. Bottom line: Occasionally expensive items mixed with tight hours make it hard to go, but it's still where I go for used car parts if I'm not buying online.

This place is huuuuge. So many vehicles and wide variety. Be prepared to walk. It's worth it. Fair prices, great value. Helpful staff were fast on my request.

Went there yesterday after not been in awhile. But this time I was a bit upset. I've gotten many parts in the past. But yesterday I bought a bumper, whole fender ($25) really good price. But got charged extra this time for the plastic inside of the fender. The bumper had mounted factory fog lights and each were extra cost. I was always told before if it's mounted is a flat rate. Not very happy about that. But was happy to find the parts I needed.

I needed this part for my Lincoln limousine.its a Ford/Lincoln part only. Nobody reproduces it. Local Ford dealership sez $300 for a new one. Got two of them at Gibson's for $10.00 each. Took me 35 minutes to remove them. Guy in the huge fork lift picked up the car so I could get them both off. Quick. Thanks Gibson's. Captain's
