I have been taking my car to Hansen for 4+ years and have only good things to say about their business. They have always been courteous, honest, and timely. I am not a "car person", so it is reassuring to be able to get work done on my car at a trustworthy place!
First and foremost IT SUCKS, when you are on vacation and far away from home and are depending on your vehicle to get you, loved one and travel trailer from point A to point B and THEN something happens !!! Out in the middle of nowhere!!!!! Called our first place and they recommended Mike (Hansen’s Auto). We called and spoke to Alaric, who was exceptionally a good listener… and helped us so much by offering to look at it and diagnose/fix the issue the following morning asap, while the owner Mike also offered and insisted in picking us up at the campground and dropping us off …
WHO and WHAT business does this anymore ????? I will tell you !!!! Mike and his amazing employees who go above and beyond for strangers!!!!!!!!! That’s who. What an amazing experience and honestly they were very fair with labor and parts!!!! We still paid a large sum BUT I am positive that if we were not fortunate enough to do business with everyone at Hansen’s, they were fair for the parts and labor. If we went somewhere else we would have NEVER been treated as well. This business, these people, are passionate about their business and they are a stand up, solid good, honest, hardworking people and don’t forget about the actual genuine customer service!!!! You will not go wrong ! Tell Mike that Amy/Clark from Mich sent you !!!!!! He is great 👍🏻
I chose the place because of the reviews, so 1st time here. My experience overall was outstanding!! I will definitely be back mostly because I have LOTS of cars!!!
Hansens has treated us very well. Pricing was great. And honest. There are so many untrustworthy shops out there that scam people that don't understand how vehicles work. Hansens is NOT one if them.
These guys ROCK!!! Everytime I need something done on my Outback I take it here! The best customer service, and vehicular service there is. They have reasonable prices, and they have the most professional employees. They let you know what need to be done and the do it right. Also they are always so friendly 😁😁😁 P.S. sometimes you get to pet a pretty 🐕 or 2 in the lobby
We took our truck in to have brake work done. They kept in touch with us, called for approval.of all work and even provided us with a report of some other issues they noticed while inspecting the vehicle. They made the repairs at a reasonable cost and we would highly recommend them to all our friends.
We took our 2012 Honda Fit in to get the clutch replaced. We didn’t make it five miles on our way home when we lost power. We returned it and it turned out to be the wire was ripped out of the throttle body. They would have noticed this had they test drove the vehicle after the clutch was replaced. Now 150 miles after the new clutch was installed, we hear squealing (bearing) noise. We took it in again and they are insisting it is not the clutch and is another problem and weren’t very willing to look any further into it. The owner told us to keep driving it since the new clutch has a warranty. Three out of our 4 vehicles are Honda and this incident has made us very hesitant to take any vehicle back there.
Hansen's Auto is the only place I will have car repairs done. They've always been very reasonable, and they know everything about antique vehicles as well as your daily transportation.
My whole family takes their vehicles to Hansen’s they’re so helpful, friendly, honest, and fairly priced! I recently got into a car accident and had my car towed there. They replaced my rear axle along with a couple other things in a timely matter, even earlier than expected! Not to mention the price of it was $300 less then estimated! I will only go here from now on! Thank you Hansen Auto!!
I've taken my car here twice now. Both times they were able to get it looked at and fixed earlier than originally stated. They were honest and upfront about some of the fixes not being necessary. They also have 2 yellow labs that hang out in the lobby.
I recently dropped my Ford Escape off for some break and a/c work. Hanson’s did such a great job, from being friendly to being timely, from being affordable to providing quality work. I highly recommend anyone in the North Prairie area that needs service work, head over to Hanson’s.
The team at Hansen's did a great job. Had a difficult engine issue that they diagnosed and corrected the right way - they kept me updated, provided fix and some preventive work items. Priced the work very fairly.

I have used Hansen for years. I have recently moved and still go back. They are worth the drive. Honest people with great service. They dont over sell and get you back up and running safely. Only place i let work on my kids cars and mine
I can't say enough good about Susie, John and his team. They walk you through repairs, what needs repair now and what can wait, and provide realistic estimates of cost. They focus on safety and do thorough checks. Yesterday my car wouldn't start in Wausau while visiting family. Called John and he listened, gave me good directions to start with NAPA on a failed part and he worked with the Wausau mechanic on the warranty. Bottom line, my car was fixed in record time at no charge to me because John took the time to work with NAPA and the mechanic. He turned a hard situation into the easy. I highly recommend Hansen's for their personable, reliable, excellent and trustworthy service.
I took my car to have my brakes looked at. They determined what was wrong, and that there was a manufacturer service bulletin out for that problem. They contacted my dealer to verify, then told me I should take my car to the dealer for the manufacturer covered repair. That saved me at least $500. I’ve experienced great, professional service and fair pricing on every visit to Hansen Auto. I highly recommend them for all you auto service needs.
Man, these guys are unbelievable! We take all of our fleet vehicles here & personal vehicles when in need. They always go above and beyond expectations & are not afraid to teach me a thing or two about whats going on with any vehicle! Can't thank them enough for everything they do! :)

Honest people providing quality repairs at an affordable price. A positive family environment. On several occasions we have called dealerships to compare prices (transmission fluid change, new spark plugs, coolant exchange). Each time the price at Hansen's saved us significant money. Sometimes hundreds of dollars.
Great auto shop... My whole family has been taking their vehicles here for years, and I feel like it’s one of few places that you can trust to do good work and not try to make you fix things that aren’t broke (like Tires Plus and other chains).
Been going there for a few years. They are always helpful and friendly. They pointed me to an extended warranty through the manufacturer that probably saved me over $800 by having the dealer fix it for free. I've never felt like they look for other things to run up the price like at some places. I would definitely recommend making the trip to North Prairie.
Very knowledgeable, helpful and fair priced. Have been going here for years now and never once thought of trying a different shop. Mike, Andrea and their staff do a great job.
I was expecting to spend a lot, having transmission problems. Turned out they just had to disconnect battery to reset a code! I was very grateful for their honesty! I will recommend them to everyone I know!
