As someone in the truck world, I really respect shops that tell the truth even when there’s no money on the line. I called asking about work previously done on one of their customers trucks I was looking at purchasing before taking a flight to look at it and they shot me straight. Rare to find “good ole boys” in today’s mechanic world. 10/10 would send my rig there if I lived close.
On the way back from a hunting trip the truck started showing messages saying the DEF was bad and the system was going to slow the truck down, Dan took extra time to help diagnose the issue and help to get my truck back on the road again. Thanks a bunch.

We were in Texas, had some minor trouble. Call Dan to ask questions, he took over from there. He ordered the parts, sent them to us in Texas and even found a person down here to install them. Highly recommend him for all services, not just diesels.
Serviced my truck and did a repair to my boat trailer. These guys do an awesome job and are very knowledgeable- will definitely be bringing my vehicles back when needed!

These guys are outstanding! We rolled into town to camp at a reservoir not far from these guys and heard something weird with our 7.3 diesel excursion. The next day I reached out to them and they told me to bring it by. Super nice guys, knowledgeable, and experienced. They called me an hour or so later and told me our pinion bearing in the rear diff had gone out. He gave me the options to rebuild it, order a rebuilt one, or find one in a scrap yard. We were on a time crunch so we went with one from a scrap yard. They also found a loose shock mounting bolt, took care of an exhaust valve issue, tightened a battery terminal, found a loose brake caliper and replaced it. They went way above and beyond. They clearly had our best interests at heart while looking over our vehicle. Pricing was reasonable and they brought my car to me at our campground, twice. This is a great shop that I couldn't recommend enough.
While Dan deals, mostly, in complicated fixes and rebuilds, he was not too busy to help get me, immediately, back on the road after a flat. Great company with wonderful service and dedicated professionals! Would recommend A+++
Midwest Diesel and Auto is one of those places you are glad you took the risk on. Dan was upfront with me the entire time and continues to honor and stand behind his work. They rebuilt and modified my 68RFE to a Stage 2, while saving me 7K when compared to the quotes I got from my Minnesota choices. I've put the transmission through the ringer and it hasn't skipped a beat. The best aspect of working with Dan is the assurance that your investment is being channeled directly into your vehicle and the necessary repairs, rather than into eye candy for the boys or someone's extravagant personal lifestyle.
Was really hoping this would be a great new shop to take my LMM truck to for regular work. Should have wrote this review a long time ago. Was sorely disappointed with Midwest Diesel when I spent just shy of $10k to immediately have to take it to another shop due to my truck driving sideways upon pick up. Tried to tell me it was like that when I brought it in (because I would definitely want to regularly haul a 40ft horse trailer with my steering wheel half turned just to go straight, blows my mind they test drove it at the end and didn't see a problem with it). Cost me an extra $1,500 worth of repairs (at another shop, no way was I letting them lay another finger on my truck) because they shoved my pitman arm on completely incorrectly (despite the flat spots that show you exactly where it should go) causing my gearbox to fail. Only refunded me for the pitman arm. Few other issues as well; originally went in for low fuel rail pressure which I knew was a failing CP3 (but I'm a chick so what do I know). Bunch of money in injectors and labor later (because they didn't pop the cab for some reason so it took twice as long) lo and behold the new injectors didn't fix the low FRP. And not like this is wildly uncommon because I know it can happen, but the fuel filter head rebuild they insisted on doing failed 3 weeks later. Been recently having injector issues which sparked this post even though it's been a year. Now get to go shell out more money to make sure they didn't screw something up there as well. Horribly, horribly disappointing.
I needed a quick fix while I was traveling and they provided quality work without even charging me anything. They are great to their customers and I highly recommend them!
I Deliver RVs throughout the country. I had an issue with my transmission and I stopped in there they immediately solved the problem fixed it and I was on my way, I’ve never had an experience such as this, great job. I would recommend these Mechanics to anyone.

Dan and Tim are great, they’ve done work on my trucks and car. From fixing repairs I’ve got done at other shops to tires and transmissions, these guys get it done right and on time every time. My new go to!
