They will get the job done well in a pinch, but I do not recommend them to consistently visit. They do not refund you a car diagnostic evaluation if you have them do the service for you that your car needed. I have a hunch that the mechanic that worked on my catalytic converter kept the precious metals inside the converter for himself because it passed emissions months before and ran for a year and all a sudden my converter doesn’t have the components required for it to pass emissions, said it was “dumb luck” I passed emissions. They also charged me $45 to patch a hole in my tire. Will not be going back.
Hard working shop who strives to take care of the customer. Stands by their warranty work, stands by the parts they install. Honest about the work that needs to be done now vs the work that the customer can wait on while understanding the customer's vehicle use and budget. Frequently goes above and beyond for customers. Highly recommend.
Called in just to ask a simple question (asked if they allow customers to bring in their own parts) and lady on the phone was extremely rude for no reason. All that has to be said is a friendly “no we don’t, sorry”. Made me laugh and say out loud “well that was rude” as she hung up.
Performed a "repair" incorrectly as demonstrated by another dealer. Then Wind Lake Auto refused to stand up for their work but kept my payment. Go elsewhere.
I have had my car to Wind Lake Automotive on two separate occasions. I could not be happier with the service I received and the wonderful way I was treated!!! The prices are great, the work they do is top notch and the way I have been treated is fantastic!! They make you feel like family!!! Would HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone!!!!
My son needed a tire repaired in order to head home after the Christmas holiday and they came through! Had the tire repaired within just a few hours. Very thankful for their quick service.
Charged almost 500 dollars just for labor, not including parts and didn’t even fix the problem. Brought it back just for them to basically tell me there was nothing they could do and sent me on my way. Didn’t even make it back home before it stopped and my lights came back on. Called them right away and they said they’d call back and never did. Very unprofessional and rude cuz they didn’t know how to fix a problem but stole my money. Absolutely love coming here. Been bringing my car to them for over 10 years. Never have had an issue. Honest and willing to work with you to keep your car in shape. I don't trust anyone else to work on my car. If they spot a problem, they let you know right away. Highly recommend.
Friendly and reliable. I’ve had several instances where extra work was done on top of scheduled maintenance and I haven’t been charged. Inexpensive too. Their parts store is solid too. If they don’t have what you want they can often get it that day. Deb is really helpful and friendly too.
Let me start out by saying that if I could publish this with ZERO stars it would only be the beginning example of how bad my service was with this shop.
Service writter Debbie is as rude and obnoxious as they come. She's always completely clueless when it comes to work being done, and when your car may possibly be ready for pick up. After spending 3 weeks and over $1,500 of my money and time with Debbie and Dan I was treated awful. Dan spoke face to face to me and used in multiple different occasions F*** and S*** to tell me how much "trouble" I caused them shortly after I received my car with squealing and brake issues after handing over $1,500.
I've family that will not be going back here, and will make sure to steer clear of this establishment after how terrible I was treated. Nobody deserves to wait 3 weeks for a job they were quoted 3-5 days, receive over $200 in over charges they never called to report to me, and be swore at after giving them their business and my own money.

Went in with problems with my brakes, they were nice enough to put ceramic disc on $$$ but did NOT fix the main problem I had, spongy pedal. I Took it back. They said they bled the brakes, ... Ok....
They still didn't or couldn't find the problem.
So took it to a recommended professional certified mechanic in Hartford. He found an air leak in back of the master cylinder, replaced that. As he tried to start to bled the breaks ( after standing on a log breaker bar to loosen the lug nuts!!! -What if I got a flat???!!!) he found that they did not bleed the front left brake cylinder!!! This mechanic was PISSED!!! Yeah it cost me A LOT!!! But a car can't stop without breaks!!!... Either they had a not very sharp mechanic work on my van or didn't want to do the job right and just take my money.
I told my now new mechanic I would write a review, he demanded to see it!!!
Only thing I have to say is Ask and insist that Dan the owner work on your car, and not farm it out to a rookie.
These guys always do terrific work! I have never once had a problem with any car or truck I have brought in for repairs. It is always done right, when asked for at the price quoted. This is the best repair shop I have ever been to. They can work on anything! Once I bought a used car and it just wasn't running right. They checked it over and figured out that the people we bought it from had the wrong spark plugs in it. New plugs, it runs like a completely different car. I'm so glad I found them. You won't be disappointed!
