My son had a vehicle impounded. They told him $320. He got the funds together, but now they want $375, 55 more than originally stated. I don't have any money, so I couldn't assist. He told me to leave him there, so I came home.
Do not use this place... they charged my son 650.00 for towing and 2 days of storage. We had no idea who had the car or we could of came sooner. It was towed 2 MILES and during NORMAL business hours and charged over 250.00 JUST FOR THE TOW Its is insane. Made us pay cash could not use a credit card either. I would never recommend D&D. They certainly take advantage of people. I get it your a business but really.... with these fees you are ripping people off. Shame on you!!!!

Austin Kain was GREAT! Very courteous, respectful, and punctual. My son screwed up my car, and Austin was very knowledgeable in getting my car off safety,and timely. Do not recommend. They are happy scam or misinform you in order to get extra money. After racking up impound fees of $50/day while waiting on insurance, if you ask to just walk away and let them keep the car they will tell you that they are going to sue you if you try to do that. Turns out they cannot legally do that as it is their responsibility once you sign the car over to them. You are legally allowed to leave the car to them without paying the fees. But they're all too happy to lie and threaten to sue you to get more money.
It's not abandoning a vehicle if you're calling asking to complete the process of transferring the vehicle to the company. Saying you will sue a customer who is contacting you, politely trying to make things right, is poor customer service no matter what. Things can be settled without threats.
If I could, I would not even put a star. I called for a simple question. The lady on the phone was nice, waiting for me to explain my question and transferred me a a rude unprofessional man. He right away without me asking my question, stated he would sue if I don’t pay my bill. What?!! I didn’t even get to ask him my question! I have zero problems paying what I owe, my question was if we could leave the vehicle they towed as we don’t want to fix it up or keep it. I thought they would sell it to fricken a junk yard or something. I have zero knowledge about cars or places like this. He called me unprofessional, when HE is the “professional” haha! Unbelievable. Ridiculous and don’t recommend.
I was stranded on the other side of the state, and I have been dealing with D&D for many years years. I was worried that the distance might be a problem, but it wasn't. The owner was very kind and sent his driver to come recuse us in West Salem. Thank goodness for the amazing response. I will always deal with D&D.
I am very impressed with their response time. They also are very caring about helping you out. The gentleman who assisted me was very friendly. Also affordable. Highly recommended this company. D & D is now programmed in my phone and will use them if I ever need a tow again.
Very prompt service. My car broke down and they were able to dispatch a driver as soon as I called. Had my car in the shop across town ~30 minutes after I called. Driver was polite and knew what he was doing.
My husbands car’s brakes went out on Monday. We have never had to call a tow truck before so we were nervous. They were able to get to us in 20 minutes which was awesome! The guy who helped us was more then kind, we didn’t realize the way we were driving home had construction and we felt so bad. But he was kind & so patient with us. Will definitely be calling this towing company again if we need it! Thank you for great service and kindness!
D&D towed my stolen vehicle from where the person who stole it ran out of gas (rocket scientist...fyi anyone who chooses to make this move...a car NEEDS GAS). THE PERSON WHO STOLE IT WAS MY ex husband Brad Burchett who took it from the hospital parking lot where I was admitted .
D&D towing had the vehicle and knew the circumstances. They were patient with me and although they could have kept the vehicle they knew my circumstances and worked with me. I know I wont recover any of my tow fees from Brad Burchett or any of the items that are now missing and were there the day it was taken
After an automotive accident, my vehicle was towed to D & D's facility and they were very friendly and helpful in letting me collect all my personal items that were in my car.
D&D really helped me out after I wrecked my car. They handled the salvage, which saved me a lot of time and worry.
While I hope to never be in that situation again, I'd recommend D&D. Be straight with them and they'll treat you right.
My experience with D&D Auto was nothing short of amazing. I never write reviews but feel this place really deserves the recognition! Employees went above and beyond to help me out when I broke down away from home. Mechanic was VERY transparent and honest, said he wasn't in the business of ripping people off and was just a truly trustworthy guy! The man that towed us was very nice and personable, and after explaining my situation offered a great discount for the tow. Would absolutely recommend their services!
Everytime D & D has done work on one of my vehicles they have been HONEST with me about any repair. I have had some winter beaters that they have kept running without doing anything that wasn't needed. They have always been accommodating and quick. I would enthusiasticly recommend D & D for any towing or repair. They are AWESOME!
This is a great company if you need to work done on your car. They don't low ball you and give accurate quotes on how much anything would cost. I have gotten a lot work done on my truck and only trust them to do any type of work on my vehicles.
I left a doctor’s appointment with my four-month old twins to find my front tire flat and sitting on its rim. Imagine babies an hour past their nap time, after having their shots, a flat tire, and a spare tire that I can’t access because the safety lock was rusted.
Scott was there within 10 minutes of calling, got me to a mechanic, and I was on my way with a repaired vehicle by the end of the day. Outstanding service!
If your car gets towed at 7:45am they charge $273.00 in fees. This is crazy. My car was only there for less than 12 hrs. The worst customer service ever. Very rude. And my laptop is missing. Doubt ill get it back. I recommend you contact better business bureau file a complaint. If they get enough complaints they'll get shut down and have to pay part of the money they steal from people back.
If I could give them a negative, I would!!! My son's car was towed by them after a storm towing ban, and "held for ransom". I was quoted $273 with a daily charge for letting it sit there, of $40+!!! They refused to let me pay over the phone with a credit card; demanded cash. I couldn't get out to where they are in time, because we couldn't track down who had it. And there was no attempt to contact him. He thought it was stolen! They need to understand the story of Marshall Fields..."Give the lady what she wants" aka "The customer is always right". It was distressing enough not knowing where his car was, then only to track it down and be told I "wasn't allowed" to pay them! And all the while sarcastically quoting "state laws". HORRIBLE people!!!
These guys should be called "Bill Padding Express". I have never experienced such a horrible company that pads the bill as bad as these dinks... (not to mention the horrible customer service) these guys are outright criminals...
They would be a great suggestion to somebody you really don't like... the ultimate revenge. I think Chevy Chase experienced these guys in the movie "Vacation".
$40 for tarp service ( no tarp seen) $75 curb service( ????) total bill $400 to tow a car 5 miles. + charged me two days for the the car to be in the lot, yet it was there 11 hours.
Choose somebody else or you'll be sorry.
Could never recommend this company. They have given multiple customers who want an invoice a hard time, to the point of being rude and saying customers should know they would have to ask for that ahead of time if they were going to need it. With the multiple other companies I have dealt over the years, an ivoice is standard. And most people would not realize this is not automatic. Why not have your drivers ask your customers if they will be needing an invoice for insurance or other purposes? Simple solution, but obviously too much work for this company.
I had to be towed due to a bad alternator. They diagnosed the problem, called with the cost, got the parts and stayed late to get it fixed so I could get back on the road that same day! They even checked my all my lights, air in tires, topped off all fluids, gave my car the full once over to ensure no further issues. The Service and Workmanship was exceptional. Thank you Scott, Jeremy and crew! Highly recommend! Phenominal!
I was involved in a car accident on on march 21 2017. The tow truck driver who came was nice he told me there is no charge for the tow. He gave me a business card with there address on it and that was that. No paper work receipt. This accident occurred about 4 miles from my house. Or one mile to there shop. So he took my car to there shop. A few hours later maybe 5 hours. I left something in my car and needed to get it. So I walked in and met a guy who I guess is the owner of the company. He would not let me grab my item. By law he says I'm not allowed to touch my car. He says to me only if it's for medication. Well it was for medication. When I told him yes it is for medication. He looked surprised and kinda let out a sigh. I did end up with my lock box and medication inside it. I then asked him how does this work how long can I keep my car here and that I'm not being charged. He instantly said the tow here is $150.00 and $40 a day to keep it here. I was very shocked thinking ok no charge. I told him that your driver told me there is no charge. He left for a moment and came back and said that his driver assumed I had full coverage insurance. Which I don't. Apparently if I had full coverage my insurance would of paid for it. Again no receipt no paperwork telling me the fees. I got pretty upset being surprised like that. I don't have money to keep it there at $40 a day so I said I want it back to my house. He charged me another $100 to tow it. I said if your driver didn't assume I had full coverage I would of had you tow it the 4 miles to my house. So with tax it costed me $304.50 for a 5 mile tow. They are scam artists STAY AWAY . D&D 24HR TOWING 2121 e Glendale ave Appleton. The owner is rude arrogant and a con artist. $305 for a total of 25 min both ways and sitting in his junk yard for 5 hours. Wow takes me a long time to make $305 he made that by ripping me OFF.
Don't do business with this company. My car broke down D&D was the closest towing company as I was not from the area. The driver couldn't recommend a repair shop so I had them take to the closest shop. The shop didn't call me and when I called to find out where my car was delivered to they couldn't tell me. The level of incompetence was amazing. I have never received such poor service over a simple question over where my car was delivered. It took me a whole day to figure where my car was taken; it should have taken five seconds.
Friendly customer service. Tow truck guy called me 20 minutes after I made the call indicating that he was going to be a little late because he was finishing up with another customer (took him about 30 minutes to get to me). When he arrived, he apologize and jump right into getting my keys out of the car. Asked him about when they're going to process the payment and he said usually on the same day or next business day (called him on a Friday). Looked online at my bank statement Saturday night and notice there was 2 charges of $47.25. Called D&D and asked why I was charged 2 times and the guy on the phone said to call back on Monday to see if it went through twice. I waited a few more days and noticed that it did go through twice; however saw two transaction that they had deposited $47.25 and then took it out again? Not really sure what happened on their end.
The Owner Scott does not have soft skills, nor any care for his clients. As a Manager for an Insurance Agency, I was horrified with Scott's demeanor and blatant refusal to answer a towing inquiry. Our insured came in with a tow bill and we reached out to Scott to provide us more information. Scott refused to provide us an original copy of the tow bill, citing there is a 60.00 hourly charge to locate a receipt. In other words, he doesn't keep records.
However, according to Scott, it's perfectly acceptable, for the ENTIRE credit card including Expiration and 3 digit security code to be baked into the carbon receipt. In other words, an identity thief's goldmine. It is also acceptable for the receipt to have the wrong date on it - an entire year off.
Scott takes zero accountability for his actions, and has 1,000 excuses for providing poor customer service. Scott was very rude and unprofessional. I ended up telling Scott to have a good day and I disconnected the call.
I'm sure this guy will be happy to provide anyone a tow. I am also certain this guy will not hold himself or his employee's accountable when someone gets their identity stolen. Or when a tow is done incorrectly and someone's car gets damaged.
I commissioned d and d towing to help me out with a towe in hopes they were a truthful company but was completely shocked by what happened with them. I asked for their service to help my car out of a tiny ditch and they said it would be a quick simple job, giving the notion that it wouldn't be an expensive jpb, actually saying so also. So not only did they charge me $150 for the 1 mile towe, but charged me another $150 because it was in a small ditch.. then on top of that, they charged me another $140 for minor miscellaneous fees and another $30 a day for placement in their yard.. all of which was charged to me without my consent! If they would have told me it would be nearly $500 for a $100 job, I would have taken my business elseware! I have never worked with such a deceiving company before and I have time Warner cable. I hope with this review, that I can articulate to people how truly deceitful and dissatisfying this business is. Please take your business elsewhere. This business is not the business for your car care needs!
Not from the Appleton area. Our car broke a brake line and had to be towed. They do good work at a fair price. My son is attend college in Appleton. Nice to know we can get good old fashion service. Very honest and up front about the repairs and cost.
