This was our second visit. The first lunch visit was so tasty that we wanted to come back. It didn't disappoint. The atmosphere is super fun and full of unique old antiques. The special was a pulled pork sandwich and it was wonderful.
We heard this was the place to stop in when your in the area. Well we were wrong all gravel lot no where to park a motorcycle glad we didn't ride the bike there. Walked inside with my wife and stood there for about 5 min before the bartender ask if we wanted something. The hole time we drank our beer we were ignored by bartender. Drank our beer and left we will make sure everyone we ride with wont waste a trip there or there money. Most rude people we have come across and we have visited alot of places
Omg the best little find just across the border! There a this old bar that is actually one of Wisconsin’s oldest bars full of history and amazing bbq! Cold drinks but no hard liquor. This bar is part of the Cheese Head trail for ATV/UTV. When we stopped it was full of motorcycles too. Staff is so friendly and is willing to share their experiences with others.
What a great “hole-in-the-wall” bar! The decor could be offensive if you’re not warned, but I knew what I was walking into. Great service and tasty food for reasonable prices.

Had the pulled pork, good stuff, (bbq sauce was homemade and 1st rate) and the Mexican Mest loaf was kicker as well. Add a couple of Lieneys and a Badgers game. It's all Good!
We went on a Satuday after lunch. There was a group of us girls who took the motorcycles.
There was no paved parking, nor was there really many options for parking at all.
The environment was very casual and laid back, rustic, dirty feeling.
The bartenders were extremely friendly and fast service.
Of course I could talk about the over-the-top character of the place that permeates from every nook and cranny. Or the delicious lunch sandwiches, including home-made coleslaw (yum!). But it's the people you meet when you walk in.
And I'm not talking about just the staff (who are awesome). All the people you meet. It looks like someone shook up a chunk of middle America and dumped some in there! Bikers, ATV/UTV riders, old timers sitting at the bar. I love it
Such a cool place to visit! Everything is very authentic and unique. Staff was friendly and places to sit inside & out! Will visit again if we are in the area ever.
Great slice of Americana serving up awesome BBQ pork and homemade sauces. The New Diggings General Store bar and eatery is like a 3D library of midwestern nostalgia.
A fun place with a old world feel. Take a classic car, hot rod, or the preferred mode of transportation a bike. Drinks and food are both reasonable, just a fun place to be, sit back and soak it all in!
What fun! GREAT SERVICE. Beers that we like/want. Then there was the band... Never caught their name, two guys- one on drums/percussion, the other guitar. Awesome music, the tunes we want to hear, 60s, 70s, some 80s. We'll be back. I just need to get a Harley...
They made my birthday weekend!!! They had to close on Friday due to unforeseen conditions they called and said we could still stay even though the bar wasn’t open, which was fine with me, we weren’t arriving until 9 pm or so anyway. They were great, will be going back as soon as they reopen!!!
Always a great time in a unique atmosphere! Music days are the best! Fabulous bands! Support live music. Try the Mules for something different and have a sandwich!
Always a great place to stop at for a cool drink. An interesting spot to show people who have never been. Today, it was very busy, no parking, difficult to even get into. I'll still come back.
This is the greatest blip on the map on the face of the Earth. Get one of the beautifully renovated themed rooms upstairs and come hangout for a couple days. You'll be back every year for the rest of your life as long as Lou and Kelly keep the doors open. Great food, great live music, great people, and miles and miles of beautiful backroads to explore. I'd need a book to write about all the fun times ive had here. GET YOURSELF TO THE DIGGS!!!
This place is a southern Wisconsin staple, the owner, Lou, really knows how to get a party started. Plus they play old school bar games, and there are bras hanging from the ceiling. Check this place out! Also, there is usually a good collection of bikes out front, motorcycles that is.
Been there a few times, always fun. Might be 100 bikes there next time 100 bicycles. Fever River String Band and others are frequent and sound great. Saturday/Sunday Cold beer good food.
