I called and asked how much they'd charge for a little piece of tube for the steering shaft on my GM truck, and they told me $50. The part is $30 new online, shipped overnight, which is what I told the guy on the phone. He said to stop in and show the yard guy, but no guarantee he would go any lower. I entertained the idea and came in, since $50 is clearly unreasonable. I was willing to pay the full $30, just to get the part right away, and since I drove out there. The old guys there still insisted on $50, for a part I have to uninstall myself, saying "For $30 we're not making any money", when they have to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for it, and it's an odd part that they're not going to find another buyer for. I walked away, and got it elsewhere for $15. Now they'll just be getting 2 cents for it when they crush the thing. Absolute waste of time with this place

Don’t even seem like they want to sell parts most of the time, will randomly decide to raise agreed upon prices after spending the time to pull parts or just decide to not sell them entirely last minute while being rude about it. Worst of the local yards and done wasting my time. Me and many others I know last time going for sure. Guys are real nice, dogs are super sweet, but owner never seemed happy to make money.

This is exactly what one could hope for when they pull up to a salvage yard, plus the added bonuses of good down to earth gentlemen on the grounds. I got an answer almost immediately on the phone, they knew exactly what they had in the yard and I was even able to get some specifics on the vehicle I was headed to pull parts from. I got there and had a good time talking with one of the guys there who greeted me and checked me in, he suggested I look around and take a tour of the yard. I'll have to come in earlier next time and do so. I was in heaven when it comes to anything I could possibly need for parts, they had a huge assortment of salvageable vehicles around, all sorted out. They even knew exactly where my car was at and pointed me in the right direction. Nice and quick, I got my parts out of the donor vehicle, plus a few extra goodies and we agreed on a fair price. One of the guys even lent me a 12mm wrench, because with my luck I had a set that skipped sizes from 11 to 13mm. The owner Mark is a good man, he came up and introduced me and we had some good conversation on my way out. I could have hung out there for hours. you can tell mark knows his business well and has a great group of gentlemen around to work on his many projects and keep the place going all the years it's been around. The yard itself even has great personality, plenty of funny little creations hanging around the place. I will certainly be back there soon. I might even ask to move in

I have never been to a salvage place before and coming from Madison I wasn't sure what challenges I was going to encounter. All the gentlemen (and the dogs) were nice, friendly and looked like they enjoy what they have to offer. Found what I needed and will be going back because with some time and effort you should be able to find pretty much anything you need! Thank you again! Jeffery-The Fiat Guy

Went there and pulled some parts and when I came up front to pay, they got out a piece of scratch paper and started to write every part down I had and price everything! I have been to this yard like 6 or so times in the past few years and they have always been reasonable with me give me with a one package price for the parts I get,(which most yard do). But no longer! They will nickle and dime you to death with every little part you may have pulled. I left there for the 1st time without any parts. I will never be back there.

Terrible service. They told me they had the part I needed but because it was a cheaper part they told me they didn't time to check on it. I understood but they assured me they had it. When I got there they pointed to where it should be and I walked the area in the mud until I called and asked where else it could be because I couldn't find it. They acted like I was stupid for not being able to find it. When I returned to the office I had to wait for the main guy only to find out he was thinking of a different model than the one written down.... They didn't even have one there!!!!!!! They lost this customer!!!!! UPDATE: In response to the owner I stated it was for a Jetta wagon from the beginning last Monday. And when I inquired about the fuel pump I also mentioned the cover I needed. But when I called back a few days later I said I didn't need the fuel pump but would like the cover. Again stating it was a Jetta wagon. When he said they were to busy to check on it that was Friday. He never said they would call back in a few days!!!! And if you call politely walking out quietly a "Temper Tantrum" well then I guess I am the one at fault here.

I happened to stumble upon this jewel of a auto/truck parts salvage yard last week while taking the "scenic route" (Highway 18) from Deerfield to Brookfield and my visit brought back fond memories of days gone by. "Old-school" aptly describes the environment, atmosphere and crew that work there, as in "typical of an earlier style or form: based on a way of doing things that was common in the past". And if that were a badge or patch they would wear it with pride, as they should, because it is a rare distinction and means something special to those who are not inseparably tethered to their "smart" phones and/or ruled by their social media addition and need for immediate gratification that comes in the form of sending or receiving superficial text messages, tweets or the oh-so-narcissistic "look at me" pics. That being said, the place has embraced the 21st century with computerized inventory and a nationwide parts locating system so if you need any type of auto or truck part big or small they will either have it or be able to get it in a reasonable amount of time. If you are going to start your parts inquiry by stopping by, perhaps the place is not for everyone. But for those who prefer to take the road less traveled and step away for a moment from the largely indistinguishable mass of contemporary franchise-like, internet-driven, high-volume auto salvage supermarkets, there is much value to be found here with a little luck and a little patience. I was thrilled when I was allowed do a casual walk-about the property in an unhurried search of the multiple items on my dump-trailer-build-project want-list, as well as any things I might find that I wouldn't know I wanted until I saw them--and there was plenty of that. Not too far into my walkabout it dawned on me that I would have been happy to pay a sawbuck or two just for that experience in that I felt privileged to have that opportunity to explore--kinda-like those fellas on that "American Picker" show on cable TV. If I had to choose between a day at Disneyland and this place, Disneyland would lose but that's just me. I ended up finding what I hoped for and more and will soon be making the 2-hour round-trip to pick it up (since I didn't have my trailer with me) and am looking forward spending some time discovering even more. Mark and Jason were friendly and accommodating and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. You can tell they love what they do and they were as unhurried as I was on that day, which might work for you or might not. I came to this place unexpectedly and with low expectations and walked away with an experience that greatly exceeded those expectations yet I can imagine if someone came with high expectations they might walk away disappointed. Hopefully this helps those of you on both ends of that spectrum. If you know what you want, I suggest you call them up and talk to someone there before you make a trip and then decide. Another interesting aspect is that their their business model includes "Buying, Selling & Trading Anything and Everything" and their 15+ acre yard is a testament to that. For the lady complaining about not getting $$ for her totaled vehicle that you were in a hurry to have towed away and disposed of--that sounds like a failure on your part, not theirs. Why did you sign it over to them and then give them a bad review? Come-on--take some responsibility for your own actions.

Great group of people here and Mark the owner has been a huge help! Recommended them to several people who have been helped equally as well, again these guys are great and they will take care of you and stand by their parts!
