I met this guy at the bank yesterday. When I walked out, reached for my car keys on my purse, stomach sank! They weren't there. Then I looked inside my car and saw them right there on my seat. I locked myself out of my car. Then as I was calling for somebody to help me get back in my car, this really nice guy parked next to me asked me if I need some help. Because it was so windy I couldn't understand the guy the phone and I hung up. Then the guy next to me called for his buddy to help me get back into my car and he said it would only be $60. While I was waiting for his friend to show up, The guy said he's an auto mechanic. We were both there at the right place at the right time when we met each other. I told him I was having problems with my sensors and I need to have them reset. So he gave me his number and the address to his shop in Bristol, And he said he would do it all for free. He and his friend both seem like very nice guys to get to know. I told him a friend in need as a friend indeed. ?

I'm relatively new to the area and needed my brakes looked at. I have driven past this place a few times so thought I'd check them out. I looked online for reviews - almost a hundred 5 star reviews on Google, plus dozens of 5 star reviews elsewhere. Seriously - when's the last time you heard so many people rave about their mechanic? So I took my pickup in to have the brakes looked at. Dropped it off on a Sunday, left the keys in the drop box, and got a call back on Monday to clarify the problem.
They found the problem and gave me an estimate. This is the point where most shops nail you - but not Todd. Told me the pads were fine and I did not need to waste money on those. But I needed to replace the two rear brake cylinders. After taxes, parts, labor, etc. it was just over $400. I was curious so I called around - almost every other place was considerably more expensive, starting at $475. One quoted me $600!
Affordable, professional and very customer oriented. Plus the vehicle was done the same day (Monday) so they were also fast.
Cannot recommend this mechanic enough!!! We were on our way to North Wisconsin and had a breakdown on the highway. Got our van over to Todd and he not only fixed up our wheel strut but also did it asap and gave us the best deal possible so we could get back on the road that night. He was attentive, informative, and super helpful!

Todd and his team at Highway 50 Auto Repair went above and beyond! After breaking down on the way up from Chicago, they let us drop in last minute and even stayed late so we could get back on the road. Seriously our heroes - I wish I lived closer so I could come in here for my regular maintenance!
We had an engine replaced here a few years ago. They were able to find us a used engine with only 13k miles on it. We drove for at least another 100k miles with no engine problems. We just took another vehicle in to have a remanufactured engine installed. It's costing us less than half what a dealership wanted- and even has a better nationwide warranty! Highly recommend these guys!
I’ve been going here for years for simple oil changes to bigger fixes. I had a scheduled oil change today and happened to have my check engine light come on over the weekend flashing and my car was having problems accelerating. They ran the code and found out it was a known engine issue with this model and recommended I take it to the dealership and that it would likely be under an extended warranty even though I had not purchased any warranties on this used vehicle. I only bought the car two months ago, so was really worried it would be something expensive. They topped off my oil and didn’t charge me and helped me arrange a tow. They even drove me home since I live close by all for $0! 5 star service and truly honest and kind people. It’s really hard to find an honest mechanic and since I have found them, I won’t be going anywhere else.
We had a great experience with Highway 50 Auto Repair. Our car was intermittently not starting, we gave them a call and they squeezed in a time to drop the car off next afternoon. We went to drop off the car, but instead of checking us in and telling us they'll call when it's ready, they had one of their techs take a look at it immediately. It seems there was a loose battery cable, he tightened it, and they said no charge. He even resisted the tip we offered.
Prompt, honest and really nice people. They've earned our business from now on.

All I know about cars is how to pump gas and I think they know this about me as well ?- I know I won’t be “taken for a ride” there as they are super honest, efficient and gets me in and out whenever I call. They always get mu truck serviced in a very efficient time to work around my schedule and always get it fixed right the first time. Pam is great to work with and is always getting us the best quality parts to fix my truck right the first time. Highly recommend them.
I brought my car in because it was making a horrible noise that I didn’t recognize. Todd and company, including Pam, pulled out all the stops to fix the problem at the lowest possible price, AND completed the job a day earlier than they had quoted. My car now drives like it did when it was new.
I could not be more satisfied, no, more thrilled with my experience today. Truly the best treatment bar none. My car thanked me all the way home.

I had a small issue, locking lug on my rear tire. I walked in and asked for help. Showed them the key an private dealer gave me that was lol messed up. They guys were amazing and took the 5 min to help me out. Got it off and I was on my way. Great service and friendly! I will definitely be going back for bigger issues.
Todd is awesome he got me in and out within a couple days, and I have always gotten my car back before the weekend. He uses good parts and has fair prices!this is the only place I will go to get my car fixed. Todd has never taken advantage of my lack of car knowledge!
Todd is absolutely the most trustworthy person to bring your car to in the area. I have had constant problems with my chevy aveo and have had it in and out of other shops over the past 2 years and the Highway 50 Auto crew was able to identify the source of the problems my car has been having, explain everything in layman's terms, and gave me a more than fair price on the labor and parts. I have had such a great overall experience here and I wouldn't trust taking my car anywhere else. This is definitely the place to go if you are in need of a new mechanic, you will be in the absolute best hands!
When my alternator burnt out on the road, I knew exactly where I was taking my vehicle. Wouldn't have to worry about jumping it and taking it anywhere else. Fair prices, fast service, and honesty. Wonderful place to go for auto repairs!
Todd and Pam and the rest of the crew are amazing. Best experience I've ever had at a repair shop. I was traveling through and had to have a couple wheel bearings replaced, got me in and out at a great price, and even took the time to take me out to the car and physically show me a couple minor issues to keep an eye on in the future. Went way out of their eay to make sure I was satisfied and knowledgable about the state of the vehicle. Couldn't recommend more.
My experience at Hwy 50 was exceptional. My daughter’s car had an oil leak created by a mistake another shop had made. They were able to identify the problem and also inspected the rest of the vehicle to uncover a couple other things that needed attention.
The woman that called back with updates was courteous and explained the issues thoroughly, they also managed to get in a break repair that was needed same day so I had time to bring the car back to the original shop to address the oil leak problem.
When I went to pick up the car, the mechanic explained what they found, drawing a picture so I could explain their findings to the first shop. This was above and beyond giving me the confidence to go back and ask for the job to be done right of the shop that made the mistake. The mechanic also offered, if they don’t take care of you, we will. Don’t hesitate to call.

Todd is a great guy, they stand behind their work, and the cost is affordable. Needed a brake booster installed asap on our diesel ford truck. I added an oil change and fuel filter to prep us for a long haul south pulling our trailer. Even though they were quite busy they got us in and out immediately. Definitely recommend!

I limped my broken car to the nearest shop which happened to be this one. I knew nothing about it, but I couldn't take my car any further. After a couple days I was told that the cost to fix everything was about $600. Still not too bad for car repair. I explained that I was leaving for the Peace Corps and that I only needed the car to drive me safely for 8 more weeks. He managed to knock down the price to $250. I was just to thrilled and amazed by his kindness and honesty. He could have said, "this amount is the only way your car will be safe." My car was stuck there and he could have easily gotten away with it. I have never met such a kind, honest mechanic who was so willing to help me. Now I have enough money to fly home for the holidays next year. Thank you!!!
