Just brought my 2008 Toyota Prius in there to have a variety of services done (Oxygen sensor, Mass air flow sensor, New 12 volt auxiliary battery, New spark plugs, fresh oil, and new wiper blades). And while nobody ever likes to pay for car work, at least you can feel good about knowing that the money you paid was for work that was done correctly, honestly, and fairly priced. I had no problem paying for and appreciating the service. Thank you.
Great service from great professional. I am very much satisfied with the service i get from there. The good thing about monona motors is they always provide more than what we pay for. The only thing that i dont like about them is wait time because they are always booked for a 2/3 weeks in advance.😀😀 which is understandable because everyone wants monona motors to take care their cars.
Couldn't have asked for a better experience having the clutch replaced on my Honda Fit– my car is running good as new. They were affordable, prompt, and communicative.
And there was free candy.
Fantastic shop! I had to get my car towed and chose this place because it was close by. On the way over, I asked the tow truck driver if it was a good spot. His response? "Yes. This is THE place to go in Monona."
When I walked in and spoke with the folks working there, they told me they should be able to work on my car by next week since they had appointments lined up. Then, that Friday, I got a call letting me know they were able to take a look sooner and outlining what needed to be replaced. I asked about the immediate concerns, and they were open and honest about the potential safety issues -something I really appreciated. They also let me know about other issues I could address later, without any pressure to fix everything at once.
Best of all? They didn’t try to upsell me at all. I got that ALL the time living in California, so it was refreshing to find an honest shop. The work was completed on time, and the mechanic even gave me insight into what I might need to take care of next time.
Highly recommend and will probably go back for future issues.

I have used a few places in Madison, felt like corners were cut and jobs not done the right way on top of bad communication. Greg and team helped me out with what I had and answered a lot of questions for me- the second service they have completed for me so far. Would trust their expertise and recommend them to anyone.
They’re the best. Greg and the guys are honest and knowledgeable and I can’t recommend enough. We’ve had a Saab, Lexus, Prius, and Jeep serviced by them for everything…. Can’t recommend enough.

Great local repair shop! Honest and experienced. Highly recommend anyone to use their services. Ensure you call ahead of time, though, because there is usually a couple week waiting list. That said, the wait is well worth it.
Personal care, gives the customer the honest assessment. Small shop so they sometimes have to use a third party. Convenient location for those on the east side.

Timely and professional service, very friendly, took care of of a rattling heat shield that was a recurring problem on our vehicle for years and the dealer couldn't fix, its so nice to have a quiet car again! Would highly recommend and will do business again!

Very honest and they always do a great job for a good price. They have never done work that wasn't needed and they tell you when you can put something off or not. They stood by a part that needed replacing right out of warranty because they are the honest real deal. They have my loyalty.
I've had two repairs done to my 2006 Taurus and I am very happy with both. The staff explained what was wrong very clearly and plainly for me to understand and presented choices on how to fix it. Will bring my car there again when needed. 10/10.
There is a reason they are rated almost 5 stars! I've brought in 2 separate cars both with Monona details or questions and even as a walk in on very busy days they took the time to look at my car and answer my questions workout trying to sell me something or tell me I need a repair. It feels more like I'm taking to my dad about my car than taking to some mechanic who just wants to charge me for things I don't need. They truly are the best neighborhood auto repair around and even if I didn't live down the road from them I'd still gladly make the trip to their shop vs going to one of the "big guys" chains. Not to mention the beautiful view across the street and amazing new park right on the lake to pass the time with little ones while they make sure your car is in tip top shape! Would give them 10/10 if it were an option.

An auto repair shop you can trust. They are transparent with what work needs to be done and with what they recommend in the near future. If you want to learn more about what goes into fixing something, they will likely bust out some parts and actually show you. I'm the kind of person who likes to learn about my car repairs and these guys are willing to let me in the loop. I have dealt with several people here and all of them are very helpful and nice. I highly recommend this place for anyone who lives in the Monona area.
I have been taking my repairs to Monona Motors for 20 years and 7 different cars because of their excellent repair services, honest appraisals and fair prices. Once again, I took my aging BMW to John. He looked at it thoroughly, gave me a price estimate and then told me "get a newer car"!
you gotta love a mechanic who would rather do the right thing for the costumer than for himself.
I agree with MRC--in 5 years or so, I've never had anything but great experiences with this shop. Always friendly, courteous, competent, and really great with my cars. Yes, MM (and every other shop I know of) will charge to diagnose anything but the most obvious problem, but only after giving you an estimate and getting your signature. I'll keep coming back to this honest shop.
