Nice little track. It definitely has some narrow winding roads to get there. There is an airport right next to it, so you can see planes take off and landing while cars are racing.
The stands are wooden planks, some have definitely seen better days. There are plenty of new ones, so it shows they are putting money into the track.
The track surface is worn, they repaved part of track. I don't know if they plan to pave more next season.
The food was decent. Prices were as to be expected at a track. The cheeseburger was decent.
The bathrooms were small rooms with a toilet and sink. There was only 8 to 10 of them though. They were clean and taken care of.
The racing was decent. There was a lot of single file, but some classes put on a good show. You can see full videos for different divisions on The Pit Gate YouTube channel
It's a place I will visit again. The downside for me is the fact it's about 4 hours to drive there one way.
Awesome race track. The staff was very friendly, the concessions were great with a nice selection of food and drinks, and the racing was great. We'll definitely be back in the future.
The track and everything was decent never been to one that was on blacktop the only complaint I have is the stands were full of bees in the tubing someone that worked there asked if there was bees I said yes they said it will be right back to take care of it and never came back hopefully this gets resolved I took a couple stingers to the hand instead of the 4-year-old other than that we had a great time everything was wonderful pretty much the only reason I'm complaining about the bees is they just replace some of the bored on the bleachers where the bees were coming out where the new bored's where
This is only against matinence. Referring to the bleachers. I understand they had to lock underneath the bleachers to keep the kids out. Because its not safe for them. But accidents happen and people do drop stuff down there. If it's just a bottle not bad. But when it's a valuable. Like a phone. That's a problem. Somehow my portable seat, phone, and power bank managed to fall all at once. If someone was on standby with a key during events. This wouldn't be a problem. Other than that. Me and my family enjoys coming out and watching the good racing.
Update, A kind gentleman managed to squeeze in between the gate to under the bleachers and got our stuff.
Was our fist time to track.....and we loved it!... was a nice atmosphere, and watching the cars was exciting. They put on an absolute awesome fireworks ? show at the end of the night.... fantastic little gem placed in the town of Ona. Would recommend, and we will go again.
I had a great experience my first time here. My cousin set a new track record and also got first place in his race, the food was good and the people were friendly and the bathrooms were pretty clean also.
I’ve been going here for about 6 years and every time I was there they were great and very professional, would very much recommend to anyone looking for good Asphalt Racing In W.V.
Last year was so much better. Tonight races started 2 hours late. They were out of a lot of the stuff at concession stand before races started. They were out of tp in the bathrooms. They need to be better prepared.
A few weeks ago I came to watch a friend race. The car ahead of him drove off the track, wasn't pushed, wasn't touched so my friend was in first place. Then they said he pushed the driver off. Video showed different so therefor I feel this is a place that cheats.
