Stunning waterfall in a peaceful natural setting. Perfect for hiking, photos, and enjoying the soothing sound of water. Great for those looking to escape the crowds and connect with nature.
Easy to get to, tho if you're not paying attention you may drive past the Kumbrabow turnoff. Road is windy but paved most the way, til you reach a Y and see a sign directing you to falls on the right. From here its gravel and downhill but certainly driveable. Falls is on the right, you'll see the parking area, slippery when wet stairs that were damaged at the time (1 broken tread plus railing, looked like tree damage). The falls are small but pretty, and worth a closer look if you want to wade into the creek. You'll catch a glimpse of a cabin in the background which sets the scene.
We spent a few hours exploring the falls and creek. It is absolutely gorgeous and I hope to come back when the rhododendrons are blooming. I imagine it is spectacular. I recommend bringing water shoes!
This waterfall is very serene and peaceful, after you get there. It's about 6 miles up and down a narrow, curvy, gravel road. There's a parking area and the signage for the WV Waterfall Trail with a walkway and stairs down to the falls where you can walk around on the rocks or wade into the water. It's a beautiful place.
Nice spot to camp if you can be there when the bear hunters aren't running wild with trucks overflowing with barking and howling dogs and flying up and down the roads by the dozens, loud generators. The entrance road to the campground has some very nice peaceful wooded spots if you can avoid the hunters.
A beautiful waterfall in a scenic place. Just park, follow the wooden steps and you're at the waterfall. Also saw a little black bear cub just down the road, but unfortunately didn't get a pic. Definitely worth the drive if you're anywhere near here. Also, Google maps tried to bring me in from the North again.... tried that route a couple years ago and not sure if that's even a road. I came in from the East this time.
This is one of the most beautiful locations I have visited. We visited in November and got to experience fall foliage with snowflakes. The addition of steps and railings made it easy to get to the waterfall. The drive there is narrow and steep. We passed one car and seen no other people during our trip. We visited on a Saturday so it felt as though this place could be a hidden gem. There were cabins and a camper section close by. I found out that this was the head creek to a creek I played in when I was a little girl that was behind the house where I lived. The sounds of nature and the waterfall were amazing. I look forward to visiting this place again.
These falls are so pretty and easy to get to. There is a boardwalk and steps from the parking area down to the waters edge. When the weather is nice it’s a great place for camping and swimming. Wonderful place for photo shoots as well.
