What a great experience we had with Cool Ridge Service Center. We had a flat tire while traveling through WV north and they provided prompt service to source a new tire, installed it and kept us warm with friendly conversation and coffee. I highly recommend Scott.
This is a great little place and you can tell because it’s always busy. Scott is first class and they do good work. It’s a family type place, and I would be relieved to know that if my wife or daughter was stranded there. That isn’t always the case at every garage. This is my go to place and they have never let me down.
Friendly and helpful people at the counter and the requested service was completed quickly and efficiently. Everything went smoothly without issues. I recommend this service station if you have vehicle issues and are nearby.
Wow did Cool Ridge save us! We were hauling a trailer and our tire starting smoking. We found the closest shop and we are so grateful we did. The staff was amazing!! We pulled in and in the matter of minutes they diagnosed the problem, repaired it for a very great price and has us back on the road. Thank you to Cool Ridge Service Center!
Hands down the most awesome experience while traveling with tire issue. We hit the jackpot when our tire was loosing air because of punctured tire while traveling. They got us right in and back on road and super friendly, kind people willing to lend a hand. Thanks for your help and courtesy. Nice to see good people are still around!

Very bad service I broke down on 77 south state police called Glenn towing they brought me to cool ridge service center and they charged me almost 400 for what car is worse then it was when I got here and now I'm broke down right in front of their shop
I will never bring my vehicle back to this so called service shop. I brought my vehicle in for the VSC light being on. They told me it was a wheel bearing. So I go and pick it up and GUESS WHAT my VSC light was still on. So I go back inside very very upset and now all of a sudden it needs a wheel speed sensor. Why didnt they tell me that, I asked owner and he said he thought it was to expensive. 🤣🤣🤣 What gives them the right to tell me it's to expensive for me. I want my car fix that's why I brought it there. So a week later after I left my vehicle again to replace the wheel speed sensor they call me and told me that didnt fix it. At that point i told them not to touch my vehicle again & i was coming to get it. Check this out.... I asked the woman what code was stored in the system causing the light to come on. She told me the VSC code. Again I asked the same question again and her response again was the VSC code. I just started laughing because right then and there i knew i made a HUGE mistake i have made because they dont know how to diagnose a vehicle. Im still laughing, the VSC code the VSC code. 😆😆😆 Such lack of education and if you dont know go find out but you cant fix stuipd. Cool Ridge doesn't know what they hell they are doing. I definitely learned my lesson and please take my advice and dont waste your time & money. I had to learn the hard way.
Twice now I have experienced major troubles after using them. First in 2020, I took my grandmother's Santa Fe for inspection and they passed it only to find out a week later the frame was nearly falling apart it was so rusted and there was a control arm and ball joint visibly broken and about to snap.
Now in June of 25 I took my Sonata in to them to diagnose a slow leak of antifreeze. They looked over and pressurized the system then stated it was a simple radiator cap issue. New radiator cap and the car would be good to go. We replaced the cap and nothing. Still small leak, before I could get it to a place competent I overheat between Green Sulphur and Dawson on i64. It's a blown head/head gasket and the engine needs replaced. According to Smiths towing the damage was severe enough Cool Ridge definitely would have known it wasn't a simple radiator cap.
Good place to go if you need a sticker for a beater or are unable to do your own oil change, but that's it.
Was on a 1000+ miles journey for work. Had my exhaust come apart at mile 800! Called the garage at closing asked if they would be willing to help. They agreed fixed us up so we could continue our journey! Their fix held till we got to our destination and then some! When getting to an exhaust shop the mechanics said that fix would probably have gotten us back to Wisconsin! Very Thankful Wisconsinites!!!
I understand people can charge what they want, but let me tell you..if you don’t plan on it being complimentary..using extortion and charging me $42 after you already did it and not telling me I’d be charged..is absolutely unacceptable. I didn’t even get fully what I came for. I told them that the O2 sensor had been changed and the check engine light never went off and it had been weeks and I was wondering why. I was charge $42 to put air in the tires and only clear the codes..just for it to be back on within an hour. I’m so livid. They didn’t even check on the 02 sensor job for that and it’s not even my car.
We were visiting the area from out of town. Had an issue with our brakes on a Saturday mid afternoon and they got us right in! In about an hour we had new lines installed and we were back on the road. Super friendly and fantastic crew all around. Prices were great too. Thank you for helping us safely get back on the road.
If I could rate the business a half a star I would, the car I was in was stuck across the road the other day and decided to walk over to see if they would assist in getting the car un stuck, at first they seemed like they were going to help so I walked back across the street to the car. I waited for a few minutes and nobody came out so I called in there on the phone to see if someone was coming and was out on hold. The woman came back on the line and offered me a shovel and no assistance. I told her no thanks that I already had 2 of them. I thought that was awfully rude that they wouldn't do anything but offer ma a shovel!
They have the most amazing staff and are very thorough with repairs to ensure they are efficient and proper. I have always loved this shop and will continue to do business with them.
I recently moved to the Cool Ridge area. I my experience has been: car inspections, tire issues and a tail light assembly. The owner and staff have been absolutely fantastic! Their prices are more than fair. The quality of work has been great. Their hours of operation are catered to their community…what other full service auto repair shop is open until 9pm on Tuesdays and open on Saturdays!? I am so glad that they are in my area! People come from all over Southern West Virginia to bring their vehicles here. Highly recommended!
Was hauling a uhaul out of state trying to get home when our temperature gauge started telling us our car was overheating.
Miles from home Cool Ridge Service Center took a look at car quickly so we werent delayed much, helped us back out, and gave us directions back.

Needed new road worthy tires for my side-by-side Mayor Mobile and United Cycle quoted me a price higher than I expected. Called out to the late Kevin Cunningham's favorite service center to see if they could do better. They did. By about $300.00 before taxes. Made the appointment for my pay day and used my rent money to git'er done. Fast service! Barely had time to take a nap in their lobby. I'll be back.
I would at all cost avoid taking my vehicle to this place. I’ve given them more than one chance and at this point it’s exhausting I got a sticker the scraped my tint off and it’s all messed up. Was suppose to check a leaky tire and the valve was split in two places and no cap was put back on needless to say still wasn’t fixed and I was charged for it to be fixed and wasn’t. I'll never go there or suggest anyone else to its a complete waste of every ones time.
Driving from Ohio to SC. Had to be towed and they were recommended.
My car was beyond repair. They had already ordered what I had asked them to repair it yet they never charged me a dime since they did not work on it. They took me to a hotel until my health could arrive to get me home now that they called the hotel ahead of time made sure I could bring my cat which normally is not allowed , and then they stayed with me until I was checked in at the hotel I have never met a group of people and I am so very grateful for them. We were traveling from Michigan to SC for vacation and started having some car issues. Luckily it all happened right near the Cool Ridge exit and the closet mechanic was Cool Ridge Service Center. We arrived around 8 and they had the problem diagnosed in an hour. Repaired in 4. In a situation that left us stranded and desperate they took excellent care of us and we are very thankful to have landed in there mechanical services. Thankful to Kelli, Steve and their excellent mechanics.
Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy, my truck set up there for 4 months for it to never be fixed but a fuse box replaced an charged $250 for nothing. I transferred shops an in a matter of 3 days it’s running just shows how incompetent some shops are with simple issues. Needless to say I wouldn’t take a bicycle for a tire change there after this, an to top it off they damaged my truck in its 4 month stay.
They were amazing! I just moved back to WV from South Carolina and water was leaking into my front floor boards in my Dodge and my air conditioner wasn't blowing our right so I took it to them and they fixed the problem for a little bit of nothing! So afraid it was the heater core, but it wasn't. 5 stars! Excellent customer service and it's ot far from the house. I highly recommend them to anyone!
Went this AM Oct. 21 to get a Sticker on my car & there was only one person ahead of me getting an Oil Change but I was taken right in after that & 10 minutes i was finished! The parking lot was full so I knew they had a lot of work awaiting but regardless they have met my needs & are always Super Nice when visiting! I recommend their Services to anyone 😊 Great Employees 👍
I had a great experience at Cool Ridge Services Center. My van was broken down with a transmission issue and still a long drive ahead. Scotty and his team were speedy, knowledgeable, accommodating, and got me back on the road before I knew it. Everyone there was friendly and the bill was very reasonable. Even had some laughs and coffee. I highly recommend this place.
Great place, have been a customer for over a year and they do great work, rebuilt my Avalsnche front end, bought really good tires from them. Always there for you.
They were absolutely amazing! Super fair price and very fast. Our bus blew a wheel hub and they had it out and the new one in about 15 minutes after the parts arrived. Then bad luck, the car we came to pick the bus up in decided it needed an alternator at that moment and smoked right there in the lot too. These guys got us the new part and were so accommodating. They are for sure the BEST garage in West Virginia!
