Copart was supposed to pick my van up that was totaled per our insurance company. Called them a week ago on Monday to tell them they can pick it up. Was told it would be picked up that evening or Tuesday. Come Wednesday I called because it wasn’t picked up, was told it will be picked up today. Same thing happened Thursday and Friday.
Come today, a week later a tow truck company calls and ask if they can pick it up. I said absolutely, it’s been ready. He said well copart told us you was out of town until today. I told him that’s an absolute lie because I’ve been nowhere. He said he gets that all the time with them.
My insurance company calls me wanting to know why I’m not being cooperative in letting copart to pick the van up. I said what in the world are you talking about? Well, copart told us your refusing to let them pick it up. Which is another absolute lie!!
How this place stays in business is beyond me. If their business ethics is to lie to their customers. Beware if you’re involved in a wreck and your vehicle is totaled and they are to pick it up. Good luck.
Be careful with this branch. The forklift driver refused to load my driver with a transit what weight about 5k pounds onto a flat bed trailer that's 3 feet off the ground and then proceeded to load a ram 1500 hemi that weighs about 6k pounds onto a semi double decker.
Management said its policy not to load and then told us it's at the discretion of the forklift driver to load the vehicle (not policy). Furthermore there is a CONVENIENTLY located tow yard across the street that can help for a "small fee" of $220. This is discrimination or extortion, either way someone's getting a kickback from the tow yard and corporate needs to deal with it. Read the rest of the review at this branch, it's all the same.
Stay away. Let a buyer back out of a sale twice against their own policy costing me 8 grand and then made me pay $215 to get my car back after telling me it's a $95 fee. Joke of a company, Crooked.
Guys stay away. They are a real company. And they are in the business of ripping people off. Charged extra fees that were not disclosed. Then charge extra storage fees for being late on the day after paying for it. Them after paying the late fees, are refusing to give me the vehicle because they want a pin # that supposedly nobody can give for an hour. Meanwhile I have staff on the clock....waiting. They are trying to get me to leave, so they can charge more fees. A joke. I already have given them $1819 for a $450 purchase. STAY AWAY
Just saw a tiktok video from this location, guy bought a duramax van and the lift driver refused to help load on his trailer! Said the van was too heavy for there loader which is more than capable of picking up 6000 lbs! He also was charged a $80 gate fee and received no assistance! Very poor customer service!! Don’t buy anything from these people!
Saw a video on TikTok that this location would refuse to load a vehicle. And after reading the reviews and looking into it it’s a on going problem. And they still charged a $79 loading fee and he had to get a tow truck and get it loaded. So I don’t think I will be doing business with this place I am highly disappointed.
Super sad copart location,will NOT load anything for you.Refused to load my Chevy van,and I was still charged a $79 gate fee.Also,while I was waiting for my tow truck to show up,they loaded up 3 2500 trucks,which is against their “policy”

My husband picked up his purchase from there today and really bragged on there customer service there. One of there employees named harley went out of there way to be helpful. Copart of louisville ky has so much they could from them. Hats off to you Charleston. Great work
buyer beware. Bought a vehicle from this location listed as running and driving. There is no way this thing ran. Auction said sorry its AS-IS. Cost me $4500 to fix engine. Thanks, again!!
Forklift driver and workers wouldn’t help load truck I purchased from there yard 06 Ford F-250 single axle truck I’ve picked up from all across the nation at copart this is the 3rd time I’ve had issues with this yard in Hurricane West Virginia no one wants to do their job. Walked into the office stood there for 10 minutes alone no one acknowledged me or tried to help my transporter. They brought the truck out but said they couldn’t lift the truck which makes no sense I will be calling corporate
We came from Washington state to pick up mini excavator, on website said has key to star, we drove to the lot,no keys, they don't want to load, don't have key. Fork lift driver very bad .
Worst customer service. every time we go here I have to get the managers to help me because the lady at the front counter has too much of an attitude. managers are great here but they should question who they hire. she's the only reason I hate coming here
Trying to get my vehicle towed away after a collision. Was given a window of two days time for pick up and they never showed. Driver has repeatedly lied about trying to contact me (no missed calls, no texts) and lied about being unable to locate the vehicle. It’s literally sitting in the driveway, visible from the road. Everyone I’ve spoken to has been rude with a bad attitude.
Front lady has the worst customer service of any coparts I been too. She's rude to any body that doesn't speak English well and mean to people for asking questions. This coparts was good until they got the front lady they can do better. Used to be the best coparts around
Front desk lady has a attitude that she needs to fix. She told me they can't load my truck because it's a 2500 and the forklift can't do it. I said ok no problem. I drive into the yard and see the truck parked in the middle of the lane. It was picked up and moved by the forklift. This is ridiculous they say they can't load but they move these big trucks around all the time in the yard. And charge you a service fee for what? I pay for a service they are not even honoring.
Terrible place! Wait in line! Your transportation appointment gets cancelled. Then you need to make another one. Then they cancelled it again because color of the car was different on the app! They lied that the car started! The engine didn’t even start. Avoid this place! Lies. Lies and more lies.
One of the most unorganized Coparts I’ve been to. You wait in line for a pickup so your appointment doesn’t mean anything. Then it gets backed up and the 9 car guys have to make it through so it backs things up even more.

We have bought and viewed cars trucks and other lots from FL to NY and from NC to NV never have I had a better all around experience than Copart Charleston...knowledgeable, friendly,courteous, helpful and the most considerate on any yard I have ever seen! ALL the others could learn a great feal from The entire staff of this Yard!!!
Would give minus stars if possible. I've been in the trucking and recovery/towing industry for 15 years and have never been to a more inhospitable junk yard. Waited in a room for an hour while only 1 person helped (lol) and 8 people completely ignored me , then got told they couldn't lift the vehicle onto my trailer because it was too heavy as they were telling me this I literally saw 2 forklifts drive by the window with identical vehicles as the one I need to pick up.
WARNING : This place will waste a lot of your time and be rude while they do it.
This Copart is the best in America. Very pleasant staff to work with, unbelievable customer service. Brooke has been so helpful and patient to all my question. Every single employee there are pure example of how businesses should be handled. I honestly believe they should be used as an example to all Copart. They make sure you feel like family not just customer. It’s unreal how every employee there always greet you with a smile. Also wanted to thank Brayan for all his help and courtesy, Jeff for helping me out. I can go on and on explaining why they are the best in America but I would rather you experience it your self by buy from Copart located hurricane West Virginia.
