Repoed a car that was my wife’s and know that there was a payment for Friday August 8 2025 and credit accepted told them that we paid the price and they said they got the release email and made us wait for almost four hours to get told that they sent it to auction and refused to give any information on the name of tow company and when credit accepted give the number to us they was rude and couldn’t even say themselves that they screwed her out of the car and now we’re both losing our jobs because of it I think they have to get the car back and deliver it and it has to all be free and also bbb will be in the mix and we’re calling to see what the dmv tells us how and what else to do about it they know now they messed up and has to fix it and what not I do not recommend this company to anyone and I would trust them with a dog life they are criminals and discuss to all the tow company that does their jobs right and is more friendly and respectful they this guy DO NOT HAVE THIS PEOPLE DO ANYTHING FOR YOU OR YOUR CAR
We had an especially hard spot to get to a tow. I could not have asked for a more experienced person to work with us. He got our car loaded and to the dealership. I want to give a huge shout out to the owner for his dedicated understanding and again experience.
Customer beware - company is not customer-centric and is NOT focused on the customer's needs. Manager (Thomas Schilling) does not care about other colleagues / partners and is only focused on profit. Wanted to re-charge a customer for their ignorance.
We had a Box Truck break down at the Pilot down the street with an expedite Shipment. Called Thomas, he met both of our trucks helped us trans-load the freight within minutes for a great price!!!! God Bless Thomas and the team!
Easy to get a hold of and gave an accurate estimate of the tow when asked. Took a while for the tow truck to arrive but they took great care when loading the vehicle into the truck.
This company did property damage on a call and refuses to properly take care of it. In addition the driver had a horrible attitude and was extremely hateful to my 81 year old father, refusing to take responsibility even though there is video showing him creating the damage. In addition the driver also refused to give insurance information when asked. I would absolutely not recommend this company.
Just broke down on the clock. They were there within 20 minutes and had me hooked up. Very easy to follow process and good conversation. Reasonable rates as well. Will call again if something happens in the St Albans area.
My vehicle was undriveable due to a dangerous recall. Called for a tow through my insurance company and was set up with a different company after about an hour. Waited for hours for that tow service to show and they never did. My insurance company was able to dispatch Shillings and the driver called me immediately and told me when he would be there. He was on time, courteous, and communicated with me multiple times throughout the process. It was a great experience and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.
My daughter broke down in St. Albans area and Shillings towing and recovery came to tow her car. Thomasm was very helpful , he took care of getting the car to repair shop and was able to take payment from me over the phone from an out of state source. Thank you for helping my Daughter and Grandson to get safely off the road and to help.

After my wreck the cops called AAA to tow my car, the driver that showed up wanted $600 to tow my car to a body shop and when I told him to leave because I was a AAA member and would take care of it myself he told me he had told AAA to reject my calls. After I spoke with AAA they sent Schillings out to get my car and this man was so nice and respectful. I would definitely recommend Schillings to anyone who asks and tell them to stay as far away from American Towing as they possibly can.

I called AAA for a tow of my truck, which is very near and dear to me, to the local dealership.
American Towing was dispatched but refused service (see my review of them on their own page).
AAA then dispatched Shilling's.
The driver (Thomas) was misdirected 20 minutes away by AAA Dispatch but kept in touch and redirected easily once we realized the mistake.
Upon arrival, he was knowledgeable and worked with me to get my truck loaded onto his safely and undamaged.
These guys should definitely be AAA's go-to Tow Company here in the Kanawha Valley!
I'll definitely request them if I ever have the misfortune of breaking down again in Charleston, WV.
My son bent his wheel and severely damaged it while driving. We had the car towed to Schillings, they replaced the wheel/tire and assured me everything underneath checked out. When I drove the car, it felt like the wheel was going to fall off. I asked them to fix it and asked them to tow it (less than a mile) to their shop to see what they did. They charged me for the tow and also overcharged to replace the bent arm they did not initially find. In total a wheel and arm replacement + two tows cost me almost $1200. And they didn't even do an alignment afterwards that they said they would do
Very disappointed in the service at Schillings. My son had an accident and bent the drivers side wheel/rim. I had it towed to Schillings and let them order the wheel, tire, etc. I get the car only to find that the wheel feels like it's falling off when I drive it. I asked them to tow it back and fix it - they charged me to tow it - and luckily, the mechanic Dustin, was able to identify they completely missed an issue with the arm that needed replaced because it was also bent! I am disappointed in their inability to diagnose the problem and fix my car at the first time of service. I will NEVER go back to Schillings!
On a trip from Ohio to Tennessee my alternator went out in West Virginia. I called my Good Sam Roadside Assistance and they set me up with Schilling's. They arrived on time and the driver was very professional and friendly. They towed me to a local repair shop and I was rolling again in no time.
My experience was beyond amazing! They came and towed me quickly after two of my tires/rims were damaged when no one else would and they quickly got me back on the road without charging me a fortune. It was heaven sent service when I was full of worry and anxiety. Thank you so much!
We blew a tire near the Nitro WV exit, called Roadside assistance they recommended them. So glad we called. Even with it being Memorial Day a nice young man towed us and had us back on the road quick. Would recommend to anyone.
The owner is amazing, every other company said we’re unable but this guy said I got this and did it! He didn’t even damage the car! 10/10 recommended! I was stuck in a ditch and had a flat tire! He responded well and fast!
We had to use this company for towing our vehicle. We have used them a few times in the past and had no issues. Yesterday the tow truck driver was rude!! He called me and basically blamed me for having to drop another tow because I called the company to see how much longer it was going to be. Then he hung up on me. He didn't speak the entire time he was loading the car up except mumbling to himself and then when he dropped the car off at the mechanics he referred to my car as a piece of junk. Extremely unprofessional!
This is the best group of mechanics and tow truck guys you can find anywhere around!!! I call them for every vehicle issues I have. They are straight forward and honest about the issues with your vehicle. I refer everyone I know to call them for everything from Towing to just inspections. They care about your safety with your vehicles.

Just had my car towed and our driver, Billy, was very nice and arrived in a timely manner. He was professional and personable (he even honked the horn for us). We were going to get a lift to the garage, but he offered to drive us and showed us that he had a covid vaccine card. He also said he is EMT certified. He drove us safely to our destination and dropped the car off without a hitch (pun intended). Would definitely recommend this company to anyone in the area.
My husband and I are on vacation both of our vehicles broke down. We live 200 miles north. This amazing company came an hour from Summerville, WV to tow one of our vehicles back home. They were very professional and made us both feel relieved that our vehicle would be delivered safe.
I've went here twice, once a couple years ago when I had my car towed and once today to get a state inspection sticker done. Both times all the guys were friendly and efficient. I probably would have been back sooner had I not been moved out of state. Will be back again too. They make the whole process very easy and stress free in my experience.
Phenomenal service! We were involved in an accident while passing through Charleston on a trip. Schilling’s went above and beyond to make sure we were squared away before we could continue on our way.

They got my car fixed quickly when I broke down while driving through town while moving to Virginia from Michigan, with a uhaul trailer attached to me. Did a good job, I made it the rest of the way to my destination. Prices were reasonable for labor and parts. Work was completely quickly and on time with when they told me it would be.However, they really seem to be lacking in empathy and humanity. The owner, Thomas cut me some slack after I called him crying and begging him to. But, I first broke down at a gas station, alone with my 4 kids, hours away from anyone I knew, and when they towed my car they left me to walk 4 miles with my 4 children along a super busy road to get to the shop to get to the car. I told them I didn't have a ride or way to get to the shop, and was told to get an Uber. But there were no ubers available in the area. We were walking until a driver from a different local tow truck company saw us and gave us a ride. Then, after they told me they had to keep my car overnight, I sat in their parking lot and literally cried because I couldn't find an available rental car or Uber and I didn't know how me and my 4 children were going to get to the hotel for the night. The employees literally locked up, got in their cars and left me crying in the parking lot. I know it wasn't their responsibility to make sure we had a ride. But I told my boys if they ever left a mom stranded with her children I'd be very disappointed in them. A little humanity goes a long way. All I needed was a ride. Just because something isn't your problem, doesn't mean you can't be a decent person and help if you can. Then, when I asked for a quote the next day since they never gave me one initially when they said they would, they added $150 to it for trying out a solution I asked them to try, and they told me it would be no problem to try and didn't tell me it would cost $150 to try whether it worked or not. After I literally sobbed on the phone with Thomas, they forgave the extra charge. While we were waiting for the car to finish up they were patient with my hyperactive children and even gave them toys. It was overall a good experience but I still wouldn't return there. It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth how they were so easily willing to leave a mom and 4 kids stranded and not even offer them a ride somewhere. I'm a nurse, I put out good vibes into the world taking care of people, and I just feel like we should all be good to each other.
These guys are life savers! We got stranded on New Year Day driving through West Virginia heading home. After 4 hours of being stranded because of an alternator, our insurance agent connected with this great company! They provided over the top customer service and could not be more happy with them. Thank you for getting us out of our bind and getting us back on the road!
First off very rude and unprofessional. I ask him to tow my car to my grandparents shop rather than to let it sit at his place and he said "only if you pay me cash now, otherwise I'm taking to my shop and insurance can pay" they only want your insurance money. Very unprofessional and are only worried about money. He didn't even ask if I was okay. It was the fat guy driving for anyone wondering.
Update: notice how the owner had to reply on here. Like I said very unprofessional. Also the cops did not escort me anywhere. I did cuss at the tow truck driver but only because he was being so greedy and wanted that insurance check. Terrible business.
I received very prompt service. The driver had his hands full just getting to my car to even get it loaded. The road was a single lane wide with no place to turn around at the end and there was a extremely narrow 180° turn in the middle. The driver had to back on a narrow single lane around a ridge. It was all handled extremely well. I will highly recommend the towing service!
I have waited OVER TWO HOURS just for a jump start. I was initially told that the driver would be here in "less than 60 minutes." While waiting for the driver, both I and my roadside assistance company attempted to call Schillings. We both got messages that "the voicemail was not set up." When I was finally able to speak to someone, the woman said she would call the driver and would "call me right back." I again waited nearly 30 minutes, and called her back. I was not given ANY explanation for the delay. I do NOT recommend using this company.
