Review for Goodyear Auto Service Center #6325 – July 26, 2025
I was very disappointed with my experience at this location. The estimate I received was outrageously high, and to make matters worse, I was hit with a surprise $229 fee just for having my car looked at. I understand that diagnostic fees are common, but this charge was never clearly disclosed up front. That lack of transparency felt misleading. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this location based on my experience.
Went there for a state inspection not only was the dude on the phone pushy about getting are car out there after he put a rejection sticker on it for lights out that are not out and 3700 worth of stuff that was wrong and some of which had not one thing to do with state inspection. 400 dollors for a 65 dollar part at any place in town . Yeah just down right way out of line on trying to upsale us on lies and greed . I would not buy a donut tire off this place fr bad business on a working man .
I recently went in for a simple balance and rotation on my truck as well as a state inspection. Waited over two hours for these services to be done and was told that my lug nuts were stripped (something they did) and my overhead brake light was out. Shaun tried to charge me a ridiculous amount for the lugs and over $500 to replace the brake light. Super dishonest business and dishonest people trying to rip off someone who has been going there for years. I will no longer recommend this place to any friends or family.
Halfway through our 12 hour trip to Virginia we tangled with a truck throwing chunks of concrete. One hit our front tire causing a large blister on the sidewall. Travis Wilson and his teammates at the Huntington WV store took excellent care of us and we were on our way with a new tire in less than an hour.
It's always nerve-wracking when going into a dealership with a 20 year old car! But I needed it to get to a brand new job. I had just started, 1200.00 later. My problem was solved, and I was on the road again, it was extremely important that I not miss anytime from work, I want to thank the staff there for explaining everything and helping with finance as well
I had made my appointment two weeks ago set at 8:30am for tire installation of four Goodyear Assurance All-Season tires. Upon arrival I was told the tires I had requested two weeks ago were not available and was immediately offered a more expensive tire. I had to base my purchase solely off of what they had in stock, not off of what I truly wanted. I ended up having to settle for a Cooper brand tire, which I did not want but had no other choice other than spending an additional $120 that I had not accounted for. With making an appointment TWO WEEKS ago should have been ample time to order and receive the tires I requested. Someone finally came to give me an update and stated they were just then getting ready to do the alignment check, although they had my vehicle in the garage for two and a half hours already. Around 11:30am another gentleman comes to me and gives me a sales pitch on the 3 - year alignment program and said the alignment might take another hour or two, to which I declined and asked for my vehicle back. Finally after several hours I left, without an alignment, and went straight to National Tire and Battery in Barboursville. I was taken care of in about an hour and much more pocket friendly than Goodyear. For anyone reading this, go ANYWHERE else.

Told me I could come anytime for state inspection & when I went they said it was too close to closing & they didn’t have time to do it.
Ask them what paperwork I needed & they didn’t mention proof of insurance. Then asked for it when I went back.
This review is from the experience of a white man and a black woman who happen to be husband and wife who visited this location, one day apart. Parts needed to be delivered to this location, and I, a white male, and Air Force veteran delivered some parts to a gentleman at the counter. I advised that a signature was required. He gladly took my phone and signed. A very pleasant experience. Fast forward one day and my wife receives an order for parts to be delivered to this location. I am driving her by the way. She is a black woman who happens to be a decorated retired law enforcement officer and a college graduate. The same man who was nice to me is at the counter. My wife asks for a signature and he rudely tells her that “we don’t touch peoples phones” and told my wife to sign herself using “a small cursive letter a”.
My wife, a tough retired cop came out almost in tears. I had already explained that they would need a signature. I had told her how easily I completed my order the day before.
Your employee was being racist plain and simple. I hope you see the other reviews on this site. I hope someone at the corporate level sees this. Your company is a world class company and this employee does not represent your values. African Americans need to be aware of this when visiting this location.
I spent nearly $300 for a state inspection and oil change. They claimed I needed a new back wiper and added a "deodorizer service" I didn't ask for. Firestone only charged me $60 for the same service on my other vehicle, and that was mostly for the oil change. I'm never going to Goodyear again.
Had to get my tire fixed, and Dennis got me in quick! He was super friendly and explained everything they were gonna do. I will definitely be coming back to see him again!
Edit: Came back to get brakes fixed, and the staff was friendly and even gave me a discount!
An absolute nightmare of an experience. I had a 1:30 PM appointment and I left at 4 PM for a simple oil change. Elderly gentleman working at the front desk is not friendly at all. He should not be the one taking care of guests. They attempted to charge me additional fees that were not originally quoted and then they went and put the wrong mileage on my oil change sticker.
Do not purchase goodyear advantage weather ready. After 9,000 miles on my 2021 ford explorer, the rear tires were worn down to 2/32 tread and warranty forced me to pay $40 each per tire and $150 for alignment. Car was barely out of alignment. Jeffery the manager was great to work with but Goodyear does not stand behing their bogus warranty. I paid $1100+ for the "best" tires and had to have the two replaced 8 months later that cost me another $350. Save yourself the headache and buy a cheap walmart tire and change every few years. There is no way this is a 60,000 mile tire.
Quick, efficient, professional, and very kind. Went in for a state inspection and it went incredibly well. Dennis was also incredibly helpful when taking my information in preparation for the inspection, and was kind enough to joke around with me after I kept grabbing things they were suppose to keep for the inspection. Thankful they had coffee and water so I could wake up!
Will be a returning customer, for both inspections and anything else that may happen to my vehicle.
When I took my truck there to begin with, the only issue was that it was a little bit Out of Alignment so I brought it to have them do an alignment found out my tires were Below the threshold, so I got four new tires when I picked my truck up there was a massive vibration and a grinding sound in the left front tire took it back fix it They fixed the grinding sound, but the vibration was still there so I took it back again. They said it was a little bit out of a line and gave it back to me still had a vibration so I had to take it back again and then they told me it was the brakes that I had to replace the brakes problem is it wasn’t doing it when I took it there for the first time. I have a permanent vibration that won’t go away
The only problem I had is I had an appointment scheduled on a Wednesday at 7:30. After I arrived I was informed the tires I ordered were not in so I had to reschedule for Saturday. I had about a hour drive in so that was a little frustrating. I felt the shop should have called me Tuesday evening and informed me of that. However, I know the phone rings both ways and I should have called them to confirm but I did not. Once I arrived Saturday I had an 8:30 a.m. appointment. Upon checking in I was told I still had a 3-hour wait since I was waiting for my vehicle. It was understandable because I was also informed they only had one technician working. It was the holiday season so that is totally understandable. I had tires installed an oil change. I always send my oil off to get it sampled. They were happy to help fill my oil sample bottle for me which was very nice. When I was leaving I saw the technician in the parking lot and I talked to the fella. He was a really nice guy and seemed knowledgeable. Which was a relief because I am very picky when it comes to somebody working on my vehicles because I usually do it myself. I had no complaints with the work I received. I will gladly come back in the future. Thank you for your professional service.
Very very poor customer service. I had an appointment in the morning just to be told upon arrival that it would be 4 hours because they book 5 appointment for the same time slot and that they always do that. After waiting 3 hours with no service except to be told my appointment time is null & void goes against company policy and honestly is false advertising. Also their is nothing on the web site about the fact that even if you have a scheduled appointment that anyone and everyone is before you because the came in as a "walk in" that your service doesn't mean anything so I guess they really should lose the appointment system seeing as there is no need to make an appointment because they are not going to be upheld to their own standards. It's terrible and they have bad attitudes and they should be ashamed of themselves for even portraying to be anything but a trash company.
Exceeded All Expectations. My truck was at Express Oil Change in Barboursville for SEVEN days and they only called me once and had not got it into the shop by the 7th day. At Goodyear, I dropped it off the night before, was called 3 times by noon, and by 3:45 my truck was ready!! :-) I was informed and updated the entire time. I have been taking my 1992 s-10 to multiple other locations, but truly found a home here. And after reading other reviews, my Race is Human. My Ethnicity is American. And, my Religion is Peace ;-)

Good and thorough service. Took vehicle in for lifetime tire rotation and wheel balance. Technician used torque wrench to properly
re-install lug nuts. Very impressed.
Only downside is the "up-sell" pitch, and subtle arrogance upon declination.
Absolutely trash service, doesn’t even deserve 1 star but I digress. From the moment I walked in the door the older man working the counter was extremely rude and condescending, huffing and puffing and mumbling rude comments under his breath like “this is so stupid” but was super nice and friendly to a male patron in the store, even joking with him, but would hardly acknowledge me unless he absolutely HAD no other choice, almost hit me in the face with the door coming back in because I was literally right behind him, complained about my appointment time and also my parking (I was told just park it out front and they would take the car into the bay themselves) quoted me $400 to deal with the front 2 brakes and then once they FINALLY took it back, the gentleman, Dennis, came up to me out front and then said that it would be $1,100! I said no thank you I will have to take it elsewhere, and when I went back inside to get my keys and paperwork I was told I needed to pay an $80 consult fee (which ended up being $91) after my own experience and then coming to google to check the reviews, which I should have read FIRST, this is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a shop. Would not EVER recommend this place to another living soul.
If I could give 0 stars I 100% would. Went there for a state inspection yesterday. They come back after having my car for two hours!!! Saying that the pump for my front wiper fluid will not work and it will need replace for them to pass me. Mind you I had used it a day earlier so I knew they were lying to me. But I said okay whatever they gave me the rejection sticker and everything. I got into my car after having the pay for the service fee ( which isn’t expensive but it’s absolutely ridiculous. Since they literally did nothing with my car after having it for 2 hours) and I leave. Once I pull out of the parking lot I’m thinking well let me see if it actually works or not. I was right down the rose and I’m able to spray windshield wiper fluid on the front and back windshield (which is shown in the picture). The price they were going to have me pay for it to get it fixed was over $700. Just to let everyone know I am a female so no wonder they are going to try and have me pay that much to “fix” something that doesn’t need fixed. My brother just got 4 new tires for his car (which is the same car as mine) and it was less than $700. My price was double what his was for 4 new tires. If you need anything done on your car so not bring it to Goodyear especially if you are a female.
Slow and expensive. $239 for state inspection, plug 2 tires, and replace 2 bulbs (not even head lights) took 2 hours 45 minutes. Would not recommend. Only saving grace was the employee out front.
Went last week for an inspection, vehicle drove perfect when I took it in. Left with brakes grinding and diminished breaking performance. Then they were wanting to charge double the going rate for the service to fix them. Prices are definitely a scam, and I'd say after talking to others there's definitely some shady business going on.
went to get my state inspection and failed my car for something that didn’t even need fixed and tried to charge me 1800 dollars. i ended up taking it somewhere else because i was not paying that much money for a 20 dollar “problem” they passed me at the other shop. if you are a woman definitely do not go to goodyear. the old man at the front desk is also extremely rude and should not have a job especially one that’s working directly with people.
Jeff and rick are outstanding. They Fit me in on short notice for an oil change. I asked them to give the car a once over and they said everything was fine except it needed a rear windshield wiper. They are easy to talk to and you get the feeling you can trust them. I will take my car back there every time.
After experiencing a tire issue caused by me, I needed a quick resolution in order to drive a couple hours to keep another commitment. Dennis worked with his manager, Team, and my rental company to help me keep my original plans intact.
We were on a road trip and had a tire issue, on an early Sunday morning, they helped us out without an appointment and were extra nice and helped with all of our issues in a very fast time. I recommend this place to anyone in the area. Thank you so much for helping a traveler.
