We had a wonderful long weekend at Doe Bay. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We stayed in the aptly named Eden Cabin surrounded by the organic garden. A fruit tree was already flowering in late February right outside the kitchen window. The cabin was well equipped with a full kitchen and all the necessary pots, pans, dinnerware, and utensils. Our dog was welcome as well. As the restaurant asked not to bring our friend along we fed ourselves, but it seemed that takeout might also be available. The bed was comfy and we enjoyed the absence of a TV. There is a library on site as well, we were prepared with our own books and games. There is WiFi on site. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. There was alway hot coffee during store hours. We both enjoyed massages that we booked in advance (highly recommended), and we soaked in the clothing optional hottubs and sweated in the sauna. This is a wonderful place to recharge, we will be back for sure.

It's so beautiful here. The hot tubs and sauna are incredible - with the view, it's a special and unique experience. I visited on a Wednesday in January, booked a yurt with electric and a modest heating unit. I would recommend to bring a power strip if you want to charge your devices as there are only two outlets and they are used by the table lamp and the heater. I really like the windows and door in the yurt. The sky light is really nice, too. I will definitely come back on a weekend to experience the cafe. I love the art and overall vibe of this place; it feels very loved.

We spent the winter holidays at Doe Bay Resort & we have so many wonderful memories from our stay! ||The cabin was perfect & very comfortable. The restaurant was serving a limited menu as it was the off season. The breakfast was excellent all the way around. I suggest the blueberry muffin as an additional item. They are the best I've ever had. ||The grounds were phenomenal! When we were there it was all lit up like a quaint little village. It was spectacular to see.||The soaking pool looks out over a waterfall & into the bay beyond. The steam room was great as well. It was very relaxing & the view is unparalleled.||MOST IMPORTANTLY! ALL the staff is so kind, friendly & welcoming. We really felt cared for & we had great conversations with them.||We are definitely coming back!|The Lewis"

The best place for a sauna and soak! Nearby beach for a cold plunge. No better hot tub views!

We have recently spent long birthday weekend at the Doe Bay resort, staying at the unique Treehouse cabin. This place is a peaceful oasis. Absolutely loved the cute treehouse, with spacious covered deck with wooden chairs, upstairs loft and downstairs seating/sleeping area. The cabin got warm very quick with the heater. Wi-Fi works great. We booked the spa/sauna/hot tub and loved it. The only thing I would love to see is some serene/chill music in the spa area, as it is almost too quiet. But otherwise, we loved the resort and will be back!

Had a beautiful fall weekend retreat at Doe Bay! Stunning location, huge variety of lodging, and friendly staff all around. Loved the hot tubs and sauna, and the communal fire pits and outdoor lounge areas. The cafe offerings were delicious, love that it’s walkable from your lodging. They had a wild mushroom walk while I was there, as well as a small but well stocked store. Can’t wait to visit again in other seasons!

Thank you so much, Doe Bay Resort, for opening your space to us for the last decade. Because of your generosity, our Imagine festival has been able to take root and flourish in this magical place. Every year when we arrive on Orcas Island, it feels as if we’ve stepped onto a new planet—one filled with love, care, kindness, and giving. What happens here each year is more than just a gathering; it’s a dream come alive. And it all begins with you, the neighbors, and the staff of Doe Bay who so graciously share this land with us. The beauty of the grounds, the peacefulness of the resort, and the spirit of welcome all set the stage for what Imagine is truly about: community, connection, and possibility. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making this festival possible.

Stopped here at the end of our Orcas Bike Ride to rest and charge our e-bikes. They have a great general store here. Views were great and laying in the grass was soft. There are bathrooms, they were kind to let us charge up with the outside plugs. Cafe was closed.

We've stayed here a handful of times. You can't beat the location for the price, absolutely breath taking!! Right on the water with lots of price points and options. One year we had bad service at the restaurant with our kids, this year the hot tub, which is supposedly family friendly, was set at 104 degrees. 104 degrees is not safe for children. After going back and forth with the manager they set it at 101 at the beginning of our soak but our kids only lasted about 30 minutes. Even the adults couldn't handle how hot it was with no one lasting the full time. 104 is the hottest you can have a hot tub, for a 90 minute soak I would much prefer to be able to sit in it a majority of the time comfortably. It was disappointing that it wasn't safe for kids to sit in, despite being told it was family friendly.

This is an old hippie resort that is coasting on its reputation. There is a lot of deferred maintenance. There is also some nickel and diming, such as charging guests $20 to use the “clothing optional” hot tub. The restaurant is closed during most of the work week. The communal bathrooms are not regularly cleaned and can get a bit gross. It’s expensive, although you can get the price down by taking a cabin or yurt with no private bathroom. Having said all that, the setting is gorgeous, the staff are friendly, and the beds are comfortable.

Can't say I'd stay again. A touch more expensive than Moran and no personal fire pit, just a communal (meet some nice people, but it is nice to chill at your own canp). They had also checked me out of my spot prior to me physically coming into do so a day before my time was up. Also gonna call out the on-site misuses. Either I'm reading their site wrong, or you get up charged 20$ for being in the camp and scheduling a massage. The same camp that they have their own little setups at.

Beautiful location, rustic charm. We stayed in a waterless cabin and it was cozy and clean, as well as quiet. Lots of open space and nice views. However, bring all your food/drinks and the means to prepare it because the cafe is useless for breakfast and the nearest place to eat elsewhere is a 20 minute drive. Here was our experience. The first morning of our stay, we went down to the cafe and asked for coffee. The server literally just waived an arm at the self serve drip station and walked away. Because we also wanted tea, I went up to the counter and stood there for more than 10 minutes before anyone even made eye contact or acknowledged me (despite 3 people bustling around right in front of me serving a more than half empty restaurant). It was very awkward. Finally, after having to call out and ask for help and being told to wait, I ordered and waited another 10-15 minutes(!) for a latte and hot tea. The next day the cafe was closed (this was Sunday of Memorial Day weekend). The third day, Monday of Memorial Day weekend, we optimistically tried again. But, it was closed for a private event of what appeared to be 8 people in a restaurant that could easily serve 30. The server did offer to prepare us something to go, but honestly, I couldn’t even deal at that point and just wanted to be done with the place. As a family traveling with caffeine addicts and a special needs child, the lack of a reliable place to eat in the morning was too much. If you could get a place with a kitchen, I’d recommend it.

We had a lovely experience here! Beautiful place, lovely staff and the spa was second to none. We had a little situation with the weather one night and the staff were prompt to resolve the problem and more than made up for any inconvenience. We will definitely be back!

I led a spring yoga retreat here. Doe Bay is breathtaking, such healing land to be on. The staff is very kind and helpful. The lodgings are rustic and quirky (little things like missing spoons and forks in the guest kitchen) but in my opinion it adds to the whole experience. The retreat house slept one couple, and four solo travelers comfortably. The studio is cozy and intimate. Be prepared to have equipment that can work with a headphone jack if you want to play sound in the yoga studio. The soaking pools are incredible, the views from the cafe are gorgeous. Overall, it was a wonderful retreat, accessible for my guests, and went by far too quickly, I was ready to reserve for next year right away.

I love loved doe bay. I will definitely return. my only critique would be to check the levelness of the campsites. ours was uneven and me and my friend were both rolling downhill the whole night so it was difficult to get a good night's rest. despite that, Im in love

I almost don't want to share this place, because it is SO special to me. I've been going there in March and July religiously for the past 8 years or so. If you want a magical experience, this is the place to go. The staff is so accomadating and kind. The restaurant food is better than any restaurant I've been to in seattle. The hot tubs are serene and refreshing. Everything there is amazing. It is my home away from home! Thank you to all the staff there, but especially Bev and Evan for making my birthday this year extra special! I am counting down the days until I can be there with you all again ?

I have been visiting Doe Bay for a couple decades as a lodging guest, and have been enchanted over and over again by the off-the-charts natural of the geographical location of Doe Bay, itself. The facility boasts plenty of charming cabins, yurts and houses to rent. The creekside spa soaking pools (and sauna) are wonderful (and clothing optional) so make your rezzie. Definitely dine at the cafe, too, and check out the super well-provisioned store at check-in. Luckily I'm a local now, and get to drive by Doe Bay daily, but when my guests come visit, Doe Bay is where I put them up!

Beautiful location with cozy cabins, yurts, and hot tubs. The restaurant is AMAZING! Make sure to visit when it’s open. The hot baths weren’t too crowded and the water was the perfect temperature — clothing optional. Make sure to reserve a time of your preference beforehand. We went at around 3:30pm for a few days and it was a nice break after exploring and before dinner. Various temperatures so you can find one that fits just right for you. The small market has unique souvenirs and grab and go food and drink. Our cabin had everything you need to make a meal and a full sized fridge. The surrounding areas are beautiful and serene. I’m looking forward to my next trip with great anticipation. Absolutely wonderful!

Our family stayed at Doe Bay Resort the first weekend of February and had the most relaxing and enjoyable time together. This is truly a special place and we are excited to go back. The ocean view from our window was incredible and our cabin had everything we needed. Everyone at the store was helpful and incredibly nice. We also had a lot of fun on the ferry ride. If you are looking for somewhere to relax, unplug and get away from your busy life. Highly recommend giving Doe Bay Resort & Retreat a try!

01/24-01/27/2025 The weekend after the MLK holiday. Folks, if you're going to travel to a destination, your best bet is on an off holiday week or weekend during the off-season. Doe Bay Resort is the perfect example. Your choice of cabins or spot you desire to stay is way more obtainable, and the entire area is accessible because it's not crowded at all. The staff are amazing, the cafe has incredible food, and the chef creates new menu items practically daily. We were reserved for a specific cabin 2 days before our arrival, and we were informed there was a problem with our cabin, so they upgraded us to a much nicer cabin for no extra charge ! The staff care about the comfort of their clientele ! Our upgraded cabin was spotless and warm and had an excellent view ! On one other note, coming to a place like Doe Bay in the off-season is a wonderful way to help support the resort during the slow time of the year, and a real cozy way to spend time with your better half ! Cheers.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL birthday weekend Jan 24-27, 2025. My husband surprised me for my 60th birthday and I was not disappointed. The weather was gorgeous, Leona at the front desk was as helpful and accommodating as could be, and Autumn, Molly and Michelle in the Cafe were the best! The dinner we had at the cafe was incredible. The best meal we had the entire time we were there. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. It's a rare January where the sun is shining on my birthday, let alone the entire weekend. The spa and sauna were heaven and had an incredible view. I could not be happier with this weekend. Just wish we didn't have to go back to the "real" world.

This is probably my favorite place of anywhere to go for a relaxing getaway. I've been coming for 10+ years because of its beautiful scenery, wildlife sighting opportunities, wonderful food (esp. the baked goods!), and easygoing atmosphere. It feels like a second home to me at this point. I often bike from the ferry to Doe Bay or do long hikes in Moran, and hitting up the soaking tubs during the colder months, is a pretty incredible way to end the day. Much appreciation.

Truly a magical place! Doe Bay is so scenic and peaceful and there's plenty to do without even leaving the resort. The spa is incredible and everything at the cafe is so delicious and fresh. The open mic nights on thursdays draw in some really unique local artists. I'd also highly recommend the mushroom identification hike with River.

Wonderful spa with lovely garden views and fabulous massage with Kerstin. ||Great dinner at the cafe last night. A huge highlight of our stay way the funghi hike with River. He’s very knowledgeable and kept us 36 budding mycologists rapt with his extensive knowledge. Beautiful visit to Moran State Park!

Being at Doe Bay was the best part of our summer vacation. It is such a beautiful and relaxing place to be. We enjoyed the hot soaking tubs and just strolling around the grounds appreciating the vistas. Everyone was friendly and helpful too. Top notch.

I stayed here for Toorcamp in late June 2024. Absolutely beautiful location, camping on the Point. Getting to enjoy a camp meal with views like this is wonderful. You do have to haul your gear down a trail for these spots, so be prepared and pack light. I brought everything I needed on my bicycle and rode from the ferry here. That felt like a mistake when I was going up the steep long hill a few miles before Doe Bay, but I made it. The cabins look really nice but I didn't stay in one so I can't say more. The food at the cafe is excellent. They make bagels in house and have lovely breakfast sandwiches. Normally they are only open on weekends, but for Toorcamp the cafe has brunch and dinner every day Wednesday through Sunday. 10/10 would come here again.

Absolutely stunning place to be. We had a cabin with a bathroom/shower, kitchenette, bed. The bed was very hard, that's only bad part. The views were beautiful. The cafe was open on Thursday for dinner and open Mic, the food and drinks were great. Saturday dinner was great food and drinks services amazing. The food was dietary, like gluten-free, dairy free, vegan options. The cafe was open on wknds for breakfast was so good. We booked our own massage with whom they referred us. That was also a great experience. We picked a time for the beautiful relaxing hot tub spa, the view was stunning. I recommend this place, especially for dietary reasons. The Island had other restaurants that had great food too.

What I love is the relaxed pace and excellent amenities. The cottages are very comfortable with kitchens that are well supplied. The office and store are delightful and have a variety of clothing, food and other items you might need. The restaurant is beautiful and is a treat to eat at. The ambience is relaxed and beautiful. The spa is very clean and so soothing with the hot tubs and sauna overlooking the bay as you listen to the the creek and waterfall that is nearby. I love all the wood used for the buildings. Charm and care exudes here and it is a great place to relax, unwind or head out in a kayak. The views are fabulous.

Winter season is the time to experience some peace here, definitely want to experience it when everything is growing. We stayed in the upper rustic cabin room, Upper Anada. Very cozy and comfortable, though I would not want to be in the lower room as the steps and floor makes a lot of noise. The Cafe was very cozy and the bartender was very attentive. We came the night after the deep freeze and got great service, didn't order a full meal but everything smelled wonderful. The spa has amazing views both during the night and right at sunset. There could be more control of the amount of people, our first night it seemed like a big group snuck some more people in with their code. The shared kitchen had everything we needed and more. Plenty of space in the fridge. The store was very well stocked and priced. There is a huge selection of locally made items, food and beer. We hope to make it out in the spring, summer or fall if we can afford it!
