What clients say about Olalla Recycling & Garbage Facility - Kitsap County in Olalla (WA)

I stopped by to drop off a trailer of wood debris and found out that they charged my cubic yard only. They were going to charge me over $100 to drop off the wood debris. Absolutely insane over pricing. I was told that it’s about convenience, when that’s just pure robbery. It’s less than half the cost to drive out to Olympic. I don’t care what the gas prices are now, that’s still a big savings to get out to Olympic and back.

New recycle bin! They are now taking recyclable metals too. Steel, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless, etc. Still a little pricey for garbage disposal, but hard to beat the recycling advantage!

You can recycle just about anything for free. Only open Friday through Monday.

The place is a ***total dump*** !!! (I couldn't pass up not writing that!) :)

It's alright. Recycling is free. Hours are very limited, they only accept cash or checks, and I've never interacted with any employees. I wish they could recycle more types of plastic containers, and I wish the website would explain what happens to the recycling (if it's processed in-house or who it gets shipped to).

Small recycle center with garbage transfer. CASH or CHECK ONLY. They do not accept cards or tap to pay, as stated on multiple reviews and website. Fees and hours listed on website and Google is normal up-to-date with the hours as well. As a reminder, wear appropriate shoes at the recycle center because of the broken glass bottles and other hazards. Keep the kids in the vehicle. Seems like every time I stop by to unload cardboard I see some kid crying because they fell on the glass while the parents were unloading.

Spend your morning getting up bright and early to pack all your cardboard into your SUV you’ve been waiting all winter to recycle. Triple check their website to ensure they’re open. Go and find giant RECYCLING CLOSED sign.

It cost to much the Kitsap waste management place is 10 times better 119 dollars for carpet while at the other dump its 60 what a rip off

Everytime I bring the same number of trashcans, same trashcans, the price is different. Is that really acceptable? No consistency. Also why only cash or check. Who even uses that anymore?

I use this place for recycling mostly when we have too much to fit in my normal bin. It does need to be separated a little different than at home. Cardboard, glass then mixed recyclables (Clean plastic, paper, cereal box like boxes, metal cans, aluminum cans). They also have a place to recycle Motor Oil, cooking oil, used household batteries. If you want to get rid of shredded paper you have to go elsewhere such as Purdy. There is a third party clothing recycling drop box. Appliances may be disposed of for a fee along with all other trash. They charge by the apparent size rather than weight like some places.

Why does it close at 4. That is the dumbest thing ever. People work until 4 so that means they have no time to go to the dump. Change that

I drop off once a week and I'm sitting here now and its 9:09am gate is still closed!

Convenient location to us, good enough hours. Cash only, so plan ahead (it also says it on the sign at the gate). If the location doesn't work with your schedule, go to the Purdy Transfer Station. They've got the same recycling, but far more capacity for brush and trash.

The schedule of the dump is inconvenient and inadequate. Most people work until 4-thirty or five, closing the dump at 4pm is inexcusable. Kitsap residents deserve much better service. Let's get reasonable scheduling now!
Mar 28, 2018 -
The posted hours are 830 to 4. I'm here at 830 to leave my recycling so I can get to work, where if I am not ready to provide service according to my hours, my customers are inconvenienced. I'm waiting while a truck empties every single bin. I have to meet a delivery truck and open.my store on time... It is already hard to schedule around their three days of being closed during the week. I don't see why they cannot be ready to accept recycling according to their posted hours.

Super handy place to drop off your household garbage and recycling...always clean and friendly, very rarely any wait at all. Really nice resource for Port Orchard/Olalla and Manchester residents! Doesn't take clean green except as garbage and no dump truck or dump trailer facilities unless you hand unload.
