Dear Administration of QFC,
I would like to raise a concern about a recent experience at your store.
Today, while using the self-checkout, I placed my items in a bag, but the system required a manual check. An older employee named Amira came over to inspect my items. During the process, she handled my sushi roughly and flipped it over, which ruined it.
I asked her why she did that, and she replied that she was just checking. She then mentioned that I could get another sushi since this one was damaged. However, after I completed my purchase, she still offered me the same ruined sushi.
I found this situation disappointing and unprofessional. I kindly ask that employees receive additional training on how to handle customers’ items carefully and communicate more respectfully.

Is it too much to ask for the restroom to be clean and in working condition and not have leaky water all over the floor and I travel from place to place often and I noticed that some QFC will have discounted food and some will not this QFC is stingy and they don't have a lot of discounted food not everyone in Mercer Island is wealthy some of us need a break on food prices. Please quit being stingy and lower your food prices thank you
I went here the other day to do a DoorDash order. I asked for help by Cory and was greeted with some help! I made it to the counter and waited in line. A older person and they kid walked up behind me. It was my turn and the clerk purposely overlooked me asking the white ppl behind me who was next. I’m black as night you definitely saw me. If these the type of people qfc hiring it’s sad! I don’t care for that race bs because it’s just inner hate. If I’m bringing business or working I should be treated like everyone else. I don’t know the persons name but I remember the face. I was livid i slipped up & called her out her name because she was calling me a liar. I will report to corporate as well. Thank you. Again Cory was a great associate. That’s who helped me again and was kind. Treated me like a human. The person was not so much.
I usually have a good time at this QFC but the staff member working at the self checkout today at 6 pm was so rude. My cousins and I just wanted to get some things after a long day of school. She then comes up behind me and says “Can you guys hurry up and pay already!”. Her attitude was uncalled for and very disrespectful. Like I would get it if there was a line, but there was no one. This situation was very uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Even high schoolers are nicer than she was. Don’t go to self checkout unless you want a whole bag of attitude. I rather drive extra to go to the south end QFC. NEVER COMING BACK!
Despite being located only a few miles apart, the difference in quality and management is night and day. Having shopped at the North location for six years, I have seen no improvement, which leads me to believe there is either a failure in local management or a lack of corporate support for the North store.
Inventory & Freshness
• North QFC: Freshness is a major issue. In the bakery and bread aisles, most items (including buns and bagels) are consistently within two-three days of expiration. Dairy is rarely stocked properly, and out-of-stock labels are visible throughout the store.
• South QFC: Despite being a larger store to manage, the shelves are fully stocked with fresh items that have weeks, not days, remaining before expiration.
Customer Service & Staffing
• North QFC: Staffing levels are inadequate. I rarely see more than two registers open, forcing customers with full carts to use self-checkout. Long lines are common, and calls for backup on the PA system are rarely answered. In the deli, getting service in the evening is difficult, and the staff often seem unwilling to help; a mirror on the back wall would at least help them see waiting customers. Additionally, I recently waited 20 minutes for assistance with holiday liquor stored on high shelves because no one brought a ladder.
• South QFC: The staff is noticeably friendlier and more helpful. The deli is efficient with no wait times, and the store feels orderly and well-managed.
Facilities & Parking
• North QFC: The parking lot is poorly designed. The angle of the spaces in front of the store is too straight, causing most cars to park over the lines. A slight adjustment to the striping angle would solve this.
• South QFC: The parking layout is standard and easy to navigate.
It is baffling that two stores on the same island operate at such vastly different standards. It often feels as though the North store receives the "leftovers" from the South. I strongly prefer the South QFC and find the North location increasingly frustrating to visit.
Overall, this is an excellent QFC. My low rating is in regards to the Tutta Bella pasta primavera with chicken. Hands down the worst pasta I’ve ever had. It tasted like it was dumped into bath water and scooped out the next day and added to the chicken and vegetables (the chicken and vegetables weren’t bad, actually). I eat pasta for the flavor, not for the nutrients. This was soggy and so disgusting that I picked around the pasta. I find it completely unacceptable that QFC is charging $10+ for this monstrosity of a dish. Lean Cuisine has pasta dishes for half this price that are frozen and at least taste semi-decent. I wouldn’t be surprised if this was frozen at some point. I’m disappointed in Tutta Bella, I’m disappointed in QFC, but most of all, I’m disappointed in myself for believing this would taste good. I feel like such a fool. I should have bought a $2 box of Kraft Mac n cheese. The aftertaste of this horrible pasta is still stuck in my mouth. So much so, that I will be ordering DoorDash to have a satisfying meal for the night. I simply cannot retire to bed with this shitty meal being my last one. Again, QFC is fine, it’s just the Tutta Bella brand that you need to stay away from. P.S. this is my first review in over a decade, so I’m not messing about.
It is on an island so it is definitely on the higher end as far as prices go.
On the other hand the hot food and the bakery section was delightful and affordable.
Stopped here for some chocolate milk and some gatorade after a long day at work. While trying to pay, I realized the magnetic strip on my payment card had been de-magnetized, making my card pretty much useless. The younger man helping bag groceries at check stand 6 at approximately 7pm offered to pay for the items. It's simple acts of kindness that make the world an infinitely better place. Whoever you are, if you read this, you made my day much better just by offering to do that. I have always liked this QFC branch to begin with. Great atmosphere, good selection of local and organic foods, and the employees seem to always be smiling and friendly. Good job yall! ❤️

Better avoid this store. The cashiers are rude and arrogant.
I usually avoid checkers and use self checkout.
I had digital coupon that seemed not worked so had to ask to the Casher.
Owen the Casher treated me as if I were stealing the item I had question (after paid self check out) even though I handed receipt and he had it on his hand…and I repeatedly I paid already.
He even grabbed my hands and said “you can’t take there!” In front of long lines of customers when I tried to put stuff in a plastic bag that he torn.
He is not capable to tell me why the receipt showing the price before digital coupon which was misleading to customer.
End up with another guy explained the total price was discounted so the coupon did work but not showing deal price per pound on receipt.
The guy told me “you are good” so I picked my item to leave … then again Owen accused me saying “ you have to pay!”
Such a loser BS.
I asked the manager but never came.
I got no apologies or nothing.
Never go there again.
racism at this store
As soon as I walked towards the steak/meat department , the security message on intercom started going off: "security check section ...." automatically assuming i'm there to steal if you're not pure white anglo be careful shopping at this store or ne profiled ...unwelcoming environment
Excellent supermarket with great choices for every day as well as specialty items for when you have something going on. The people that work here also genuinely care about the store, the customers, and the quality of what’s stocked.
One item rang up as much more expensive that it should have been. Luckily I was watching and pointed this out to the cashier, and they fixed it. After looking again there might be one more item that overcharged. That totally ruined this store for me, and this is the second time this has happened in a Seattle area QFC.
Mrs Amira, our cashier was super warm and friendly. She made our transaction at her register a very pleasant one. Mr Masud helped us bag our items and was courteous. We also purchased crispy chicken & Avocado rolls for a picnic lunch.
They were both quite fresh & tasty.
The staff at this QFC branch seemed like a happy team & working in harmony together, being of great service to all.

I have been going to this QFC since I was a kid. Very friendly and helpful staff, some of whom I've known for years. Consistently good products and produce, and well-stocked. Thank you!
Well, folks, it seems like during the great egg shortage of 2023, this place was the golden goose of the grocery world! While others were scrambling like a chef without a recipe, this store was cracking jokes and serving up omelets like it was the last supper. I mean, who knew that finding eggs would be the highlight of our shopping trips? It’s like discovering a hidden treasure chest in the aisle of dairy products. So, if you’re ever in the mood for a yolk-tastic adventure, just head on over here. They’ve got eggs so fresh, they might just start laying them right in the store! And let’s not forget the egg-cellent customer service—they’ll even help you flip your pancake if you’re feeling a little egg-stra challenged. So, at least during the shortage, we can all say, “I got the egg, and I got the yolk!”
Overpriced grocery store with mediocre produce and food quality, though of course that’s not the employees’ fault. Metropolitan Market is just a few blocks away, which focuses more on organic produce and higher-quality meat, and at this point, their prices are about the same as QFC’s!! We only come to this QFC if we really need something we know Met Market won’t carry—like specific name brands or less “healthy” items. Otherwise, it’s just too expensive, and the quality hasn’t kept up. This applies to all QFC locations, not just this one.
One of the most disappointing parts of my move to Mercer Island has been the quality of this QFC next to my building. Limited selection, high prices, and poor quality especially in the grab and go sections. The most recent travesty was when I picked up a pack of cold chicken tenders from the deli area, and they turned out to be partially frozen! I am honestly flabbergasted at how consistently this location has been a major disappointment. After years of going to the Rainier Beach Safeway I thought this might be an upgrade, but in most ways I would say this place is worse.
I’ve never had a negative experience at this QFC until today. I came in for a product I know is only sold at customer service, so I approach the stand and both check outs are closed. So I turn to the nearest cashier who is busy checking people out and request he send someone else over to customer service because I’m not sure if anyone’s going to just come if I stand there, since both registers had closed signs. I can’t quite recall exactly what was said but in short it was something along the lines of “you’re in the wrong line” and redirects me to another cashier but in a snarky attitude. I told him to drop the attitude, not talk to me (to avoid any escalation) and he proceeds to voice in a loud voice “I don’t have an attitude” and a sarcastic voice “have a wonderrrrrrful day!” We’re not in high school I requested to not be talked to in that tone of voice so I didn’t appreciate him carrying out a snarky comment. I chose to ignore him and wait my turn in the line of the next cashier. When my turn came the woman redirected me to the customer service desk where I originally started. She had someone sent over there (per my first ever request) to assist me. I wasn’t asking this man to drop everything he was doing to help me I just wanted someone else sent over there! Both the woman and man who actually helped me at the customer service desk were helpful, and nice, and treated me with respect. And to those individuals thank you that’s the reason why this review isn’t a 1 star.
I had to buy an item in bulk and was having a hard time finding it. This store regularly carries this item, just not the quantity I needed . The one associate helped me and was able to ensure the next delivery of this item Had enough quantity for my event.
So happy with the help and friendliness !
Well it's on Mercer Island, shall I say more?? Nice store, plenty of parking and my only negative is some of the aisles inside are too narrow for multiple carts as they have center displays. I have always found what I am looking for and prices are better than in Seattle, as they dont have the sugar tax like Seattle does.
It was a fantastic experience at this QFC location. There is plenty of parking and in a great location. There are so many options in the store. From the fresh bakery to the deli counter. There is also a great alcohol selection. There is very large kosher selection as well. The kosher selection includes baked goods, deli, and fresh sushi. There is plenty of shelf stable kosher food too. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are plenty of checkout counters, so the lines were not long.
The store always has what I'm looking for, and has easy access.
I also just wanted to say, there was a little PA announcement made by a gentleman around 1:30pm today (11/1) and my friends and I loved the enthusiasm and happy message he had marketing the food. If it's not a regular thing already, we would love to hear them more often!
Went in on a Monday morning and was greeted by Robert from Produce. What a GREAT man, out going and so positive. I then met Jake, another GREAT man who displayed a outstanding personality.
As I left the store I noticed that Robert and Jake were behind me and I started talking with them again. I asked them where they were going, across the street Gary to get a bagel. Well, that's where I am going and since you guys are SO GREAT, I am going to buy you breakfast!
Please make sure to reward/acknowledge these two wonderful men!
Because of them, I will now make your QFC my store of choice.
Love that they are open pretty much all the time! Nice, slightly pared down (curated!) selection of groceries and more. Using loyalty card helps to take advantage of sale prices you won't want to miss. Also check out weekly sales ads for new items or again, more sales.
This location is easily accessible and has plenty of parking, too.
This store has excellent fresh food and groceries available 24 hours a day. The staff are excellent and friendly. This is by far one of best QFCs i have ever been to.
