I’ve loved this place since I was a kid!! Always clean, professional and pure adventure.. the addition of all the recycling bins is an absolute community service:)
The guy running the scale house is the rudest most unprofessional person I have ever experienced in my life. Calling me a liar saying I have never been there before, and my pick up truck is too big for the facility. I have used this transfer station over 20 times in the past 2 years in the exact same truck. Yet he calls me a liar straight to my face. This guy should go back to salting fries at Mcdonalds.
Hands down the worst transfer station in King County. Save yourself from getting rejected and just go to Bow Lake. These guys won't even take trash if it's in garbage bags anymore. What kind of a rule is that? I've never in 10 years of being a contractor had so many problems with throwing away garbage somewhere. I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. They should just shut down if the employees don't want to work or accept garbage.
Contrary to what other reviews indicate, the recycling is NOT open 24 hours. I went last night at 6pm and they were closed. Their posted hours indicated closing at 530, and the gate was locked.
The recycling area is to the right of the entrance to the dump. The cardboard recycling is all the way to the left in this area, and does require breakdown of your boxes. There are 2 openings to the crusher, they are about 5' off of the ground. They are maybe a foot tall and 4 feet wide? You can fit longer pieces than 4 feet, but you'll need to twist them in.
For using the dump: super convenient. Never had to wait more than 5 min. At the height of summer/heat, it smells, but way less than some other dumps I've been to. You back into one of 4 parking spaces and just throw your trash into a a trailer that is at ground level (since you're elevated).
Pro tip: empty your pockets before loading at the dump. My phone fell out of my pocket onto the ground and...while I realize that cell phones in general are not the cleanest, cell phone with dump juice? No one wants that. Keys fell into the dump? You're gonna regret that.
I have visited this place over 20 times and the service is professional every time. Usually i don’t have to wait in line but when I do it’s about 5 mins. To my knowledge they mostly accept non hazardous household waste and recycling. The staff are helpful and friendly as well.
This dump has all the things i require in a dump. A place to dump trash, a driveway, even a place to pay for the privilege of dumping stuff. Top notch imho
On our first visit I realized too late it was self-service unloading but the attendant kindly loaned me his gloves.
There's a free area for dropping your recyclables open 24/7.
Employees are polite & happy to answer questions (for newbies).
Bring gloves, secure your load for a quick & easy visit.
We're now pros at navigating the dump!
My favorite transfer station, anywhere! The cardboard recycling is outside of the dump so you don’t have to pay to use it. Dump isn’t that stinky and people working there don’t hate their life that much
Staff are as nice as they have to be, otherwise they're just doing their job, which is, y'know, moving garbage. Honestly impressed with how they they handle themselves with some of the customers that I've seen there. 10/10 would let them take my garbage away any day
I have never spent more than 20 minutes here. On average I am in and out with my vessel in 10 minutes. Design of the station results in efficient managing and operation.
Did not took my garbage on the trailer!!! Not smart enough system. Not enough signs and easy access info!! The guy on the scale wasn’t helping me to find out where I can go and dump it.. poor service for 2020’s I guess it’s all covid19 lol.
DON’T TAKE YOUR YARD WASTE HERE!! No dedicated repository for yard waste; it just goes in with everything else, and it’s full price. The very nice attendant told us that the transfer stations in Bellevue and Tukwila have dedicated yard waste, and it’s half price. Yard waste does NOT decompose in a landfill, so please do your best to dispose of it responsibly!
It's an older facility, there are not a lot of stalls, and it can be a little difficult to find it you haven't been here before but they have a recycling center and a place to dump your trash.
Additionally, I've always found the staff to be friendly. Make sure that you cover your loads before arriving or you will be cited just like any of the transfer stations will do.
I was charged 25 dollars cause I didnt tie a peice of wood to my truck to throw it away no a peice of wood isn't gonna blow out of my truck driving 2 minutes to a dump waste of money I'll just throw the wood back in the forest were it belongs
