We just completed our first year being a seasonal camper here. (Which means our camper stays there the entire season) Giving consideration to nothing is perfect and things happen that are out of human control, we absolutely loved being there this season, and after closing up the site on Sunday are sad and ready for next year! We have a 13 year old daughter and giving her a place to safely play outside with other kids is invaluable to us. We plan on being there for at least the next 5 years. I would recommend this campground to anyone interested in a seasonal camping spot.

If you want to camp out on a frat house lawn with music going till past 1 am. This is the place for you. This place is just a corporate money grab business. If you want a golf cart to get around, thats gonna cost over 60 a day. You pay a resort fee even in the winter months and the water park is closed. They don't care about putting groups together unless you pay extra money to reserve a specific site. You get the option when booking but is basically a waste of time. You wont have that site. Asked if my family members could move next to us for our last night and was told no "those sites are all turn and burn" not one person showed up to fill sites on a Sunday night. The place was a ghost town after a holiday weekend and the staff in the main office just lied to our faces. ||Teenagers drive golf carts all over the place blasting inappropriate music for a family campground. The staff does nothing to enforce anything we noticed. The place will send you an email to fill out a waiver prior to showing up. We didn't fill it out, nor did we get asked about it so whats the point. ||Water was on and off in a part of the campground but again they wouldn't allow anyone to move sites. Trash is also spread out and they don't come around and pick it up from your sites. For the price you pay to camp here they should. ||DO NOT STAY HERE! If you decide to anyway, it's a zoo and an expensive one at that. They also claimed new management but it's a joke. They must have kept the whole staff from before and thought it would change. This place is a joke.

Stayed here 2 nights while visiting the local sites. Our corner site was across the road and up a small hill. This area was pretty empty, no neighbors and only a few sites filled. We never heard or saw any activities or even saw any children – maybe they were closer to the river and office area. Quiet, wifi and cable were a joke. Bathhouse was a short walk, clean and had hot water which is appreciated. Good loc for seeing the sites. Basics met.

We have been coming here for the last 6 years as a family trip, with 2 groups driving in from NC. We love this trip and the location of the campground. We love the river sites and get them every year. Though this year, the water went out for about 2 days and never got an explanation why. (And that was hard with having a newborn) A lot of activities this year that were on the agenda for the weekend didn't happen because of staffing. It was just disappointments this year especially for what you pay for these weekends. But overall, we do enjoy this trip and it's been a tradition for us. Hopefully next year things will be more resolved.

We went here with no reservations and arrived after closing. The manager checked us in with no issues but I believe I was charged the wrong rate per the website. I did not question anything as we were happy to get a site. Upon check out we informed staff that the cable didn't work and they could have cared less. Not having a TV isn't a big deal for us but a family may have an issue. It looks like a nice place but expensive for an overnight stay.

The staff was RUDE as all get out, but I’ll get to that after I list the smaller issues. The hot water ran out after washing dishes and one hot shower for our child. Supposed to house 10 people in that cabin. Cabin had no working TVs, one remote with no batteries, called help desk several times before arrival to discuss booking, no return call after leaving more than one message until after we arrived — and get this…My phone rang twice and as I picked up they hung up. So we tried to make the best of it. The “spooky trail” — more of a three step walk. Lasted 5 minutes. This place has severely gone down hill. Also! To make it even better, when I tried to give feedback at checkout, the lady (skinny dark hair) got into an argument with me and my husband! In front of other guests! So I tried to cool it off and told the man either you can take my feedback or not. And then he made excuses and said they cared and gave me his general managers number. Sigh. This used to be an amazing place that we enjoyed going to every year. Never again. I’d rather tent camp, roughing it on the Appalachian trail with a grizzly bear. Pretty sure that bear would treat us better than the staff at this location.

We were very disappointed with out visit for several reasons. Our site was rather small and difficult to maneuver into AND leave. In addition less than 24 hours into our stay, the water stopped working. We inquired about moving to a different site. A family member happened to be staying in another area of the campground, so we knew the water was working where they were located. The woman in the shop told us there were no available sites in that area and we could not move. This was a blatant lie. Online it showed open sites, and we never saw any campers move to the open sites during the remainder of our stay. We will not be back to this facility, nor recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately, we will not be coming back. Nice campground but when you don’t have running water for 3 out of yiur 5 day trip that puts a big damper on things. Especially with 5 adults and one child. Plus there was no WiFi the entire time. That doesn’t work well with teenagers and 20 something’s. We received half of our reservation costs back but I felt we should have gotten the entire amount back for all the inconvenience of not being able to shower, use the toilet or cook. Very disappointed.

We came camping to meet family on October 10-2025 until the 13th we had water on Thursday but from Friday to Sunday no water. We met family to camp. We would lose water while showering and would not have no way to flush our toilets or cook. We had to go out to buy gallons of water. Me and my husband spoke with the manager who was very nice to us and we had a maintenance man tried to tell us it was our fault. We said how’s that when to whole section was out of water. First when I called I was told it was sporadic I said thati is what you said about the WiFi. The campground was very nice but make sure they have fixed their water problem before you go or you will have trouble too. Jellystone Park Natural Bridge has major water problems

We stayed here October 2024 and loved it so much that we came back again for October 2025. Unfortunately, this will be our last trip here. The pull through site we are on with our travel trailer is very tight and the fire pit is feet away from our neighbors bedroom on their camper. The WiFi they offer only works if we walk up to the store from the back of the campground, and this is our second night here with no water. We waited until 11 PM last night to have enough water pressure to take a shower. This evening we can’t even flush our toilets or wash our hands. Incredibly frustrating at the price per night to be cramped, have no cell service or WiFi, and to be without water to shower, cook, or flush. Tried to speak to staff who were very rude and not helpful. Said there are “multiple issues going on and they are trying to fix them” then walked away. In the span of one year we went from telling all of our friends to check this place out to deciding we won’t return.

We have been seasonal for 5 years. Our grandchildren love it. We love sitting in the river watching the kids play. The Cafe prices have gone up too much, but we do get ice cream occasionally. So much for the kids to do! Hubby and I like relaxing 😊
Oct 03, 2025 -
Stayed in an RV while there. More than wonderful. Lots of events planned for the kids, like crafts, character meets, mini golf. Bring everything you want with you. There is not much to offer close by in terms of stores in the event you forgot something…. Like a good campsite should be.

The amount of paperwork required to stay at this campground is excessive. A normal reservation process and then 3 additional waivers (pet + cabin). Never seen anything like this at a campground before. The waivers alone took like 20+ minutes out of my day! The arcade depends on wifi, and it wasn't working most of our stay. The person working the Ranger Station kind of shrugged this off and told me I should call the company Venco. She did not offer to help at all. When we called, we got a recording saying that they're only open Mon-Fri. We purchased credits for playing arcade games but weren't able to use most of them, so we just lost that money and barely got to play anything. The atmosphere at the campground is fairly unfriendly in our opinion. People speeding around in golf carts at all times, but our kids kept getting scolded for riding bikes faster than 5 1/2 mph, a speed nearly impossible to stay under on bike. I doubt any of the golf carts or cars got the same scolding, and we definitely know a lot of them were going 15+ mph. Staying here is too expensive. Lastly, it's quite unexpected that when you reserve a specific campsite, you actually aren't guaranteed it unless you pay extra money. "Reservation" is supposed to mean that you're paying ahead of time to get a site. Charging extra for that is just ridiculous.

staff was very, very knowledgeable and very, very polite starting from the check-in to maintenance to the general manager to the assistant manager. Everyone was very very nice bathrooms were very clean. They are going to need to be upgraded soon. I think that management has done a great job and having a staff that loves their job means a lot. This place will be top notch if they continue on the route that they are on. Thanks again. Enjoyed our stay. Wish you all the best.

Stayed 6 nights, campground was clean, staff was super friendly and helpful. It wasn't very busy when we were there as it was mid September, pool was closed. A train goes through the area almost every night which you hear from the campground. Under new owners just recently. Within 5 miles to Natural Bridge which was awesome! General store Natty B's cafe was awesome stop also!! If I was going back to Natural Bridge, I'd stay here again...

I did not have a good time. I couldn't bring a tent, I didnt see any stray firewood to collect. The camping here is not good. The other campers were pretentious and not very neighborly. All they had was a playground and a little lake. It wasn't worth the drive either.
Sep 21, 2025 -
starting off from the pictures of the rooms they had a full-size refrigerator and when we got in there, it was a mini fridge. Not only that, but the person before us may have left something in the freezer like meat that rotted and instead of them taking proper care and deodorizing the freezer in room, they left it as it was so our room smelt terrible the entire time. I also think there may have been bedbugs. Me and someone else have a bunch of little red bites all over.

Every year my family and a close friends family travels to a new Jellystone location. In the past we have done Lurray VA and chincoteague VA- I want to start by saying the staff was very very nice and accommodating. Major shout out to the manager Sherri and one of the maintenance men named Anthony. When we first arrived and were waiting to check in we were very disappointed to find out the “lake and beach area” was closed. Then we went to the arcade to find out that was also closed, so the kids were very disappointed. We were also disappointed by pool/splash pad. The other locations were a lot larger and nicer. Also the no food or drink policy in the pool/splash pad areas. These vacations are for the kids and it’s really hard to convince three kids to leave the area all together when one of them/the adults want to eat. They’re all young and we cannot leave them alone separated by a fence if multiple adults aren’t present. It’s also pretty annoying that on my vacation I can’t sit there and have a drink and relax. I understand at the chincoteague location there is no outside food or drinks because they sell them there, but here without offering anything inside it’s kind of annoying. The next issue was the cabin. We did not request a cabin that was dog friendly and the floor had a pretty large amount of long dog hair. The futon mattress cover had a LOT of stains. The top bunk bed did not have a mattress cover and was also heavily stained. Also under one of the bunk beds there was a bloody bandage. This is where the manager Sherri really helped us out. They immediately came and cleaned and changed out the futon cover and put the cover on the other bunk. Also at the other locations they had really fun paint events and a glow in the dark party for the kids they enjoyed. Not as many things were offered here.- not a huge issue but just something to consider when planning a trip here. Lastly we purchased multiple items from the shop that were defective. Two float rafts type things deflated within an hour of us filling them without any holes or cuts made by us. We also got three unicorn glow in the dark stick head bands for the kids none of which worked. The glow in the dark stick packs were expired and didn’t glow when cracked. Again I want to say the staff was very nice and accommodating when we had issues they could rectify. This location just leaves a lot to be desired

I booked two nights with my kiddos in a safari tent. I called to reserve them. When I arrived, they had somehow switched the dates for me to be there to a Wednesday and a Thursday and the lady at the check in shack told me I was a “day late” and when I explained they must have been switched somehow she just shrugged and said she couldn’t do anything about it and said it looked like I booked online— implying I was lying. Thankfully I saved a screenshot of my reservation that had the correct dates and the much more helpful people in the ranger station were able to correct it and salvage our trip. We arrived at our safari tent and it was very charming and a spacious place— the only issue is that it had not been cleaned, I’m assuming because the dates had been mixed up. We brushed past it and went to the pool and slides— which were closed in the middle of the day because of rain that had stopped two hours prior. So basically our first afternoon/evening we didn’t get to do any of the activities we came for which was disappointing to my two small children. Thankfully the next day things were open again and they were able to enjoy the amenities then. We did go to the “s’mores and pirate tales” night which the kids were also excited about but it ended up being really poorly put together— two teenagers were running it and showed up late and then kept leaving because they forgot stuff. They charged for the s’mores even though the flyer with the event calendar said nothing about charging for the s’mores (unless I missed it), then they just sat on their cell phones texting and didn’t tell any stories. We were all confused as to what was happening until everyone just gave up and left. My kids were expecting some fun pirate tales and maybe a Yogi appearance. The s’mores were also clearly old because the marshmallows were melted and stuck together and the teens running the gig even admitted the graham crackers were “stale”— just seems like a silly thing to charge for after charging well over $150 per night for accommodations and amenities. I gave four stars because overall my kids still had fun and Natural Bridge was a beautiful area. The area where the safari tents are feels a little more private and quiet, and the bathrooms there were in good condition. The AC in the tent worked great. It was definitely glamping as promised! I guess my only concern is the high fees they charge for a less than optimal experience. The staff in the ranger station were very helpful and friendly and you could tell they wanted to do their job right. They fixed the error and saved the day. I’m glad they have those lovely ladies on board!! The lady at the check in shack and the teens didn’t seem to care. I’m not sure if we will be back, but I hope they take into account some of the recent negative reviews and try to create a better experience for well paying customers.

We stayed for a weekend, reserved our spot and pd for it a month in advance for our camper, when we arrived they had us in a tent spot, ended up completely away from our family and friends, they had a water battle, movie night, karaoke, smokes! My only problem was our reservation. The staff was friendly and polite. The internet kept going down, but that's just ok!

This location does not offer everything they have listed on their website. They don’t offer any more water activities like tubing, canoeing or water inflatables even though that’s what they advertise on their website. There was no foam bubble parties and half of the events were cancelled last minute. We got charged 3 separate times for the same meal. They said the payment didn’t go through each time. When we caught the multiple charges, they wouldn’t refund it. They told us we need to dispute it through our credit card company. The staff was rude anytime we asked a question about the park. We’ve been to other locations this has been the worst one. I do not recommend to others.

I loved the lady running cartoon cafe. She went above and beyond and the food was good. Your staff working with kids was great. You do seem short staffed as the slide was closed a lot. You charge a fee to use those items so for them to be closed wasn't fair. Overall we did enjoy this park but the futon was so dirty I didn't want to sit down in our cabin. That's the only seat. I paid 1000 to stay for 4 nights and that was the grossest thing I have ever been around. Its dirty. Its unsanitary and you guys didn't seem to care when I told you. There was a huge hole in our wall. You guys have to fix the cabins its not fair to charge people that much to stay in a filthy room. I don't think the health dept would approve honestly.

Difficult to access off the main roads with RV. Otherwise experience was ok. The pool was kindof gross though when we were there. My kids lost their goggles and even in shallow water the water was so cloudy we couldn't see the goggles at the bottom of the pool. Kids certainly still had fun though and don't seem to care about these things.

Disappointing Cabin Experience – Left Early We were extremely disappointed with our stay at Jellystone Park at Natural Bridge. The cabin was small, dirty, and poorly maintained. It was clear that no one had swept prior to our arrival, and all the dishes were filthy. The pull-out couch had food on it, the kitchen cabinet was broken (with two others screwed shut), and about half of the light bulbs and electrical outlets didn’t work. The front door barely shut and appeared to have been damaged by a forced entry attempt. To make matters worse, the bed setup was absurd — a full mattress on a twin box spring made for a very uncomfortable and unsafe sleeping arrangement. The entire cabin felt like a fire hazard. The location itself is excellent and gave us the opportunity to explore Natural Bridge, but the condition of the cabin completely undermined the experience. We ultimately left early because it was simply not worth staying under these conditions. We do not recommend booking here until major improvements are made.

My family and I stayed at Jellystone Campground in Natural Bridge, Virginia in June 2025, and unfortunately, our experience was far from what we expected — especially considering the premium cost and the reputation of the Jellystone brand. We encountered several significant issues that disrupted our trip and left us feeling disappointed and frustrated. I’ve broken down our experience into three main areas: 1. Site Reservation Change — Misleading and Frustrating I booked our stay at Jellystone Campground in Natural Bridge, VA back in December 2024 and paid extra to reserve a specific waterfront campsite. The site was supposed to give us a direct view of the James River with no other campsites between us and the water. To ensure this, I also paid a “site lock” fee. However, just five days before our scheduled arrival in June 2025, I received a call informing me that our reserved site was being changed. I was told the new site was “comparable,” and while they refunded the site lock fee, that completely defeated the purpose of locking in a specific spot. When we arrived, the site we were assigned was not comparable. Instead of the peaceful waterfront view I had reserved, we were placed in the middle of a crowded row, boxed in on both sides by other campers. Rather than looking out at the river, we looked at the wall of a neighboring camper roughly 15–20 feet away. This change felt misleading and diminished the value of our trip right from the start. 2. Overcrowded and Noisy Environment The campground overall felt extremely congested. The campsites were packed tightly together, with very little space or privacy. Golf carts were constantly driving around, and the volume of people made the campground feel more chaotic than relaxing. On our first night, our neighboring campsite kept us awake until nearly 1:00 AM, sitting around their fire singing loudly. Despite quiet hours supposedly being enforced, no staff intervened, and there was no visible presence from campground personnel to address the disturbance. It did not feel like a peaceful or well-managed environment. 3. Sewage Leak and Poor Emergency Response The second night of our stay brought the most serious issue. We were woken up by our neighbors due to a sewage backup that was leaking into both of our campsites — and eventually spread to at least four total sites, including one across the road. The neighboring campers had called the after-hours number, but no one responded. The sewage leak persisted for approximately nine hours overnight before it was finally addressed — and only after I walked up to the office at opening time the next morning and reported it in person. This was a serious health and sanitation issue. I have photos and videos that document the extent of the leak. Final Thoughts To their credit, the staff did allow us to leave one night early without penalty and refunded one additional night. We paid for one of the two nights we actually stayed, though we originally booked for three. While we appreciated the gesture, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. Between the last-minute site change, the overcrowded conditions, the lack of enforcement of quiet hours, and a serious and prolonged sewage issue, we cannot recommend this campground. We won’t be returning — and strongly encourage others to ask questions and carefully consider whether the experience is worth the risk.

Overall, the resort is nice enough. Bathrooms were clean. Tent site had pea gravel for the bed which was great. Pool and splash pad were clean. Putt putt course was great. The water slides (main attraction) were closed more than half the time we were there because of “staff shortages”. Cafe was closed for bathroom repairs but even when open the hours are minimal (11-4) during the week. They ran out of ice cream in June! The recreational department and the front desk pointed us at the other group when asking about activities so it seemed no one was in charge. The front store doesn’t have much groceries so bring what you need. The location was in the middle of everything but also a long ways from everything. It seemed like activities were 45 minutes in all directions.

Not my favorite campground but it was decent. I saw photos of a giant blow up thing in the lake and the kids were excited. We got there and that was nowhere to be seen. The slides for the pool were closed and apparently close before the pool itself closes, know if your kids want to enjoy that, don't make day plans because by the time you gets back, the slides will be closed. The bathrooms were decent on Wednesday and I have to say, by Friday the bathrooms were so disgusting I debated if I should even use the showers, like super nasty, poop it half the toilets, God only knows what was all over the floors. They did seem to clean them by Saturday, I think they just need to get someone out there more often to clean them. People are nasty and it shows. We didn't really use the pool at all because there's just not enough space and too many people in the pool. They should probably invest in another pool on the other side of the campground to avoid over crowding, because the pool is not that big to begin with. Put put was fun, even though some of the holes would steal your balls, other then the last hole. But as far as the positives. The lake was lovely, the views are amazing and nearby attractions are a lot of fun. The campground is quiet and the kids really enjoyed the blow up, bouncy thing and the park as well, we also really enjoyed playing volleyball by the lake.

This is a nicely maintained very family friendly campground. It is off the beaten path and you have to want to go there. Staff were generally pleasant. The cable was out when we’re were there, which was difficult because there is little to no cell or tv signal. The campground was almost full when we were there, lots and lots of families with small children, which you would expect in a JellyStone. However, we did not have small children. The event paper they passed out when we checked in said there was an adult only swim from 7-9 on Sat night. We were very much looking forward to this because when we checked the pool earlier in the day it was almost shoulder to shoulder kids jumping and splashing in the pool. We arrived about 7:30 for the adult only swim. There were several children and adults in the pool. We had an adult beverage in a koozie and before we could even get in the pool a staff came over and told us only water was allowed in the pool. I responded ok, I will put it over by our bag. Nope, not good enough I had to literally take it outside the pool fence and set it in the ground. So I asked her since they were enforcing the rules, why were there children in the pool during adult swim. She responded that not enough adults had shown up and therefore they canceled the adult only part. It was 7:30!!!!!! No less than a couple dozen additional adults only showed up over the next hour and I overheard lots of conversations about the growing number of kids in the pool when it was supposed to be adults only. I understand a family friendly resort, we are totally supportive of that. But it make no sense to publicize an adults only swim time and then cancel it less than 30 minutes into the event. We were very disappointed. And just to note the next afternoon we were back at the pool and saw multiple people with adult beverage and ice creams in the pool area and nothing was said to them at all. So either enforce the pool rules or don’t. The grounds are nice and well maintained. I would say they need more trash dumpsters because the closest one was like 25-30 campsites away from our site and it was a long walk.

Our first trip here and we had an amazing stay! We arrived late Friday night but still was greeted at the entrance and he took us to our site. It was so dark but he helped us park our RV. The next day we met the general manager and thought we had booked a golf cart for the weekend which was my mistake. However she was able to get us one even after they were sold out (I had an injury and wouldn’t have made it without one)! The grounds are very clean and staff very friendly. Lots of activities for kids and everyone was exceptionally nice. It’s so quiet after hours and you are able to rest and rejuvenate. They take care of the grounds because even though we were near water and lots of trees it was every few bugs didn’t have to use mosquito repellent once. I would recommend renting or bringing your own golf cart it’s a lot of walking! I would highly recommend a stay here and my family are already planning our next visit!

We had the absolute best time! The cabin was amazing, spacious, and clean! We had to delay and do a very late check in and the staff were very accommodating. The cabin had everything we needed including amazing wifi, air conditioning and phenomenal water pressure/heat/supply. The entire campground was beautiful and every staff member was friendly and talkative. There is so much to do even for young kids, from playgrounds, swings, jumping pillows, and rec activities to the beach and fishing pond. I can’t wait to come back and enjoy this place for years to come!
