Always fair on pricing, they don't cheat you and are happy to answer any questions you have. Just don't try to check stuff in when it's 5 mins to closing time!!
When I called about electronic boards I was told $2.00/lb I had 455lbs total which 155lbs was mid grade mother boards-ended up 18cents a pound for some reason and 300 lbs was considered steel cause it wasnt straight mother boards. Drove a hour cause of the price was told on phone. Ended up total was 27.80 and 21.00 definetly not worth the hassle.
Very friendly and helpful business. I took a car to scrap and they made the process simple. I recommend this place to anyone who needs to scrap something.
That being said, unfortunately the prices are down and I didn't get much. But I just wanted rid of the vehicle so..mission accomplished.
The employees were very sweet, even let me come in even though it was like 4 past 4 and still helped me. Only thing I would like to see made better was a sign or two in lamens terms of where to go with each that's all.
The Worest!!!!! Both times I came here they under quoted me and paid me way less then the going rate. The are short with u, they rush u so u don't see wh they are doing. They are thieves and crooks that take advantage of everyone that walks thru the door. I will NEVER come here again. If u wanna get robbed come here and they are happy to do it.
Chris that works the scale house is a stand up guy but ask always very polite friendly and outgoing. As far as the rest of the crowd that works at OmniSource in Vinton I can't say too much about them they are pretty much rude can act like robots the prices are cheap they are lazy
OmniSource Corp. is the place to take anything you want to recycle. They give you a good price and treat you right. I have dealt with them for years and plan to go there for all my recycling.
Very difficult for first time recycler. No signs telling where to go what to do. lucky to leave without a flat. Finally made it to scales where I waited 15 minutes for lady to finish arguing with previous customer about being shorted. Then I told her I had aluminum siding, she writes the ticket as scrap steel, Inspector changes it, calls her and signs ticket, back to her to cash out and she pays it as scrap steel. 5$ for 100 lbs. Ok we.nt back a second time and they were better

Very helpful today as it was my first time there. For a truck driver, this is very important. Very friendly gentleman and lady at the scalehouse. Amy was the ladies name. Very professional and made me laugh about”giving her a hard time” lol
The website says that they are open on saturdays 8-12. What the website does NOT tell you is that they are not open to the general public customers on saturdays. Their only open for employees to work on saturdays. My advice dont waiste your time driving out there on saturdays unless you call them first ahead to be positive that they are going to be open to the general public on that day. During the weekdays monday through friday they are open and the service is decent. Pleas fix the hours on your website so customers know when and when not omnisource in vinton va is open to the gernal public customers.
Criminals. 0.29$/lb for #1 insulated. Then I realized they called it #2 on my receipt. After I caught their mistake and brought it to their attention they still didn't believe me. He went and looked at a different bin and said it was mixed, but would be nice and give #1 pricing. He upped it to 0.32$/lb. As soon as they knew I was out of state, they figured it was easy enough to screw me over. Should've listened to the other reviews.
