The first time I ordered raised bed soil, it was fine, but this time "raised bed soil" had big lumps of clay in it. They turn white when they dry and form lumps all over the top of the soil. Soil with big lumps of clay does not belong in raised beds. However, the driver was nice.
Run and hide - NOT recommended - awful!!! Paid for screened topsoil. Received 100% clay - 1/3 was clay balls ranging from bowling balls to softballs. Bagged and disposed. Remainder was tan "stuff". I stupidly worked two days to spread this over my yard. When it dried, it turned to white concrete. Contacted customer service three times. Finally got a call back. Manager said she would get right back to me. Didn't. I persisted and she offered a 1/3 refund. I stupidly agreed. No check in three weeks. Called some more, she suggested letting them credit my card. Again, I stupidly agreed. Another three weeks, nothing. Worst customer service EVER!
The delivery driver was terrific. Arrived as scheduled, friendly, dumped the load of screened topsoil as requested. After he left, work began on spreading the product to improve the lawn. The product was definitely NOT screened topsoil. It was about 10% heavy clay balls ranging from 3 to 8 inches in diameter, many roots about 6 to 12 inches in length, some stones about 2 inches in diameter. Due to scheduling at my end, chose to rake and sort the product with discards placed in heavy plastic bags for disposal. A lot of manual labor required, and lost about 15% of the product. Kept and crushed the clay balls under 2 inches in size and mixed them with soil to complete the project. I should have demanded a return and refund, but again, time was of the essence.
We ordered and paid in advance for $975 of rock on June 7th. The delivery was scheduled for 6/19 and we made accommodations accordingly. On THE DAY OF the scheduled delivery we received a call from them saying that they no longer sell the rock we ordered and that they do not have an alternative in stock. The rep proceeded to tell us that we should have called in the order. 1st of all, that is just rude. 2nd, you have a website that accepts orders, so why would anyone think they would have to call when a purchase is placed and approved online? Thirdly, when you sold the last of this product it should have been labeled as "sold out" or "discontinued" on the website, if not completely removed. The customer service is lacking!
FYI...the product is now marked as "out of stock" online.
I imagine that this happened after our phone call this morning.
Ordered 18 yards of soil 14 days ago to be delivered today. Called to ask about the timing of the delivery this morning and the person on the phone said that I wouldn't get it today because they are overbooked, she said she would call me back in 30 minutes, never did. Seven hours later I called and was on hold for over 20 minutes then gave up and hung up.
Terrible company, customer service needs work. I visited the office in Midlothian on Friday and a customer in front of me walked out unhappy. Then it was my turn I asked them if I can arrange for the rest of my delivery to be scheduled as they didn’t deliver the correct amount. Was told call the office? Even though I had been on hold for over an hour and 30 minutes waiting for someone to answer before they closed at 5pm. Spoke to a lady on the phone to try resolve it and she was not helpful either nobody seems like they like working there they are miserable and don’t want to help or do their job. Don’t waste your time or money. Go elsewhere
The pine bark mulch looks just like the picture. On initial inspection of the raised bed mix, it looked good. However, I am very disappointed in the Master Blend Raised Bed Mix (50% Soil/50% Compost) Bulk. Once I started moving it into a wheelbarrow, I discovered it has huge chunks of clay in it. The description says "Perfect 50/50 blend of premium soil and compost". In all the years I have been buying this type of raised bed soil from other companies. I have never received any which had clay in it. Clay is definitely not a premium soil.
Wrecked my driveway.Fuel surcharge?! I paid $75 for delivery. I live 3 miles away, haha. And gas prices have gone back down. I hate being nickeled and dimed.
Gutted my front lawn this summer. I ordered and spread 11 cu yds of the McGill compost and Yardwork premium grass seed. Best decision ever. McGill is compost on steroids and the seed was virtually weed free. See before and after (30 days).
We ordered a few yards of mulch, it was delivered right on time, and the driver adjusted the tarp I'd laid down by just a few feet to avoid damaging trees overhead with the dump truck. All the mulch was on target and it's all quite good quality. We've had mulch from other places come with termites or a lot of shredded up garbage and there was no issues like that here!
I found Yard Works very pleasing to deal with, the person I spoke with was very helpful and guided me to the correct gravel I needed for my project. The delivery was prompt and courteous. He was very professional and was able to dump the gravel where I needed it to be. Thank you for the great service.
It killed the grass and some flowers. I am so upset about this and have no clue how to fix that. And no lavender didn’t die on it is own or from something else. It looked great until I used that mulch around it :(
I called to order mulch for delivery. The person who took my order was prompt and courteous. When the truck arrived, the driver had to back it down a driveway that can be difficult. He did it perfectly. The driver was very nice and professional! The mulch is great!
Ordered 12 cu yds of mulch online. Customer acknowledgement and updates regarding delivery were timely and accurate. Driver making the delivery was icing on the customer service ‘cake’ -professional, polite, and put the load right where I preferred. Mulch quality is excellent (natural VA hardwood). Recommend and I will be a repeat customer!

First person that called me to inform me the order would require an additional $40 dollars do to the distance. He said he would apply on the same credit card I used. The gravel was suppose to arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 am.
I called back to see where my gravel was and I was informed that they put the order on hold pending credit card information. So I gave the information again, same card, and was suppose to be here between 11 & 11:30.
Did not show up again. I got a call back saying that they are now loading. This was about 12:30.
About 1:00 pm got a call from driver Robert to let me know he was loading now and would be there shortly.
He arrived with the gravel an placed it where I wanted. Had a small issue as he drove on part of my yard and ran over paved I had resentful lad down. I told him I would take care of this. Only took me less than an hour to repair so I big deal.
Robert was a great person, friendly and courteous.
Outstanding quality mulch. Excellent customer service. Friendly, knowledgeable delivery person who came 30 minutes BEFORE the delivery window time even started. Love this company, it's product and it's people.
Yardworks works..Awesome they gave me a delivery date that worked for me and sooner than I had picked online. The delivery man was the best. I told him I understand he may not be able to do my perfect world drop and roll. He listened and did exactly what I asked . He was friendly and guess what, service with a smile..Loved it. Thank you!
I got 15 yards of brown dyed hardwood. It’s definitely a Good quality mulch. No weeds or fungus like with some places.
Only Slight problem was with the delivery. I asked for it to be delivered at the top of driveway but it was delivered at bottom. They made it right and came back the next day with a tractor and moved it back to the top and even to several other places around my yard. I was very pleased and will reorder.
Yard works was great! They agreed to deliver regardless of my order unlike the company I previously used for the last 5 years. They were on time and the driver couldn't have been more entertaining. He called me twice because his GPS took him to a mall. He was so personable and real and just a joy to do business. It was a great experience!
Ordering process was simple and easy. Received prompt confirmation emails about my order and scheduled delivery date. Driver called about 30mins before arriving and delivery placement was perfect. Great overall experience. Will be using their services in the future.
Awesome! I went onto their website and selected the mulch I wanted. I then used their calculator to determine how much and placed the order online. I received a phone call shortly after to confirm my requested delivery date and they showed up as scheduled with some great looking mulch. Thanks!
All prices & details were listed online for ease of purchase when researching the best wholesaler. I also experienced great customer service when ordering for my residential property. I had to call back & make a change a few days later & the gentleman remembered me which I was delighted to hear. The delivery driver was communicative on the day of delivery & very professional when she arrived. She was in & out quickly allowing me to get to work. The quality of my black dyed mulch was top notch. In the past I’ve had deliveries which contained little rock’s. I definitely recommend Yardworks!
Delivery of pea gravel made at a reasonably early time before scheduled time. Driver excellent and interested in protecting our property and putting gravel exactly where needed. The product was exactly as advertised and excellent quality. Scheduling was easy with a short lead time for delivery date. Recommend Yard Works for excellent product and service.
The online ordering was easy, the driver was on time,!courteous, and skilled. The mulch again was of a high quality. We have used them three times and have been happy every time.
Wonderful customer service. Yard Works customer service helped me determine how much mulch I needed for my garden and made sure it was delivered before the rain set in. Quality product. Beautiful color. My yard looks great!
Great service and communication! Timely delivery too (inside a week). Website allows you to select the day of delivery (and a back up). They call you within 24 hours to confirm, call you 30 minutes out that they are on the way, and call you on arrival to confirm location for mulch drop off.
Definitely will call them again next time!
We received both mulch and stones on the same delivery. The truck had a divider so we saved on delivery expense. Driver was very nice, asked where we wanted the product and dropped it right on the tarp. Great experience.
