Description

Est. at this location in 1974 by Eddie Gibbs Sr. and Eddie Gibbs Jr., lifelong residents of Seaford located in Yorktown, Va. Also known as Crab Neck. The automotive dismantling & recycling business was created in the 60's and 70's by finding abandoned vehicles in woods as they built roads through Seaford and other parts of York County with the other father and son business, Gibbs Clearing & Grading, Inc. In Sept. 2015, it was in the best interest to sell the property to a road construction and paving company.

Judge them by their actions and behavior, not by the stars rating stars they have. I just came back from Doody's after a horrible experience at M&J Motors (next door). The 'dude' with the tattoos and the slight limp appears laid back and overly relaxed, but he's a professional through and through. I was greeted and felt welcome right away (after following the signs up front to drive to the back) when I met one of the other workers (shorter guy, stocky build). Tattoo guy (regretfully, I failed to get his name), came up to my car and asked what I needed help with. After explaining it was just a tire for my 4Runner, he invited into his garage to check out what they had on hand. He went through multiple options and found a new new looking tire that he encouraged me to look at; it was a 16 inch Michelin tire (a 276/75 tire which was slightly larger than my original request of 265/70) that appeared to have no more than 5,000 miles on it, tread covered Lincoln's face completely on a penny. Price...40 bucks...out the door. We shook on it and away I departed...until...we came upon an 'exact match' right outside the garage door. The problem was that it hadn't been taken off the rim, so I couldn't see the inside of it. So how did our pro deal with this issue? He simply shrugged and said, "No problem, I'll take it off the rim real quick." Less than 2 minutes later, I was able to run my hand on the inside of the tire and see if there were any cracks, nails, or other signs of damage which can't be seen from the outside (or while on a rim...hint, hint M&J). Our pro at Doody's offered to 'make it right' if anything bad was discovered even after the deal was closed. Ultimately, I'll swear by the customer service at Doody's (especially the dude with the tattoos) and the overall experience of knowing you'll be taken care of...can't say the same about M&J Motors next door; read my review on them (M&J) if you are contemplating losing your money. Over at M&J, you'll see a sign behind the counter that says, "If you bought the wrong part, now you'll have a spare." At Doody's, they said to me, "Tell your friends that we got tires for them, we'll treat them right." They absolutely treated me right at Doody's!

Haven't been to Doody's in a long time. Last time I was there I sold some scrap auto's. I feel I was paid a good price for what I sold them and would gladly deal with them again.
