Very nice folks here. Great fishing. Dock fee $10.00. They have cottages, and other rentals.

Beautiful campground on the Chickahominy river. Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean!

We held a church camping weekend at Rockahock. We had people lodging in RVs, Villas, Cottages, Yurts, and Riverhouses. All the accomodations were excellent. We enjoyed all the campground had to offer from kayaking, volleyball, playground, camp fires, the beach and just walking around. The Rockadome was a great spot for our potluck dinner. We love the facility but the staff is really what sets Rockahock apart. Everyone is friendly and helpful!

We loved staying here. This was our second time and we were going to add it to our list of regulars. It was nice, friendly, and quiet. Unfortunately we were told that our little jeep wasn’t allowed in the campground after confirming during check in that it was. We even paid the 25 dollar fee that is required. Not sure why. It’s no different than a golf cart. It’s small quiet and slow. Just looks different. We will have to find a new place to camp.

Stayed in the monthly rv sites for 2 months, absolutely no space. They are angled perfect to park my 43 foot rv. And there’s space for your 2 vehicles. The spot itself is big. The entertainment area is the back of your neighbor. And you get close and personal with your back neighbor too. I meant my patio/dining table was right next door to the poop hose and neighbors hookups were 3 feet away from my front door. It was nice telling my kids to stay away from the sockets every five minutes. Everyone thought it was okay to walk through my site so I couldn’t just be outside with my dog. A teenager almost clothe lined himself in the neck running with my dogs leash while we had a fire going outside. The amenities all clean and if you had a problem maintenance wastes no time fixing it. Staff is so nice and felt no hate from the staff in fact they go out of their way to be nice. When I think of Christians this is the image a true Christian should be. Unfortunately other residents weren’t too kind to us because we are a two mom family. The weekly sites are beautiful and shaded and spaced out. There’s a small beach and fishing dock and pool. The WiFi was amazing !

I would like to include how management communicates (please see picture.) I came in before day light hit and did not observe a sign. Secondly, I wasn’t blocking anyone. Management called the police, who were amazing. They said this is par for the course with the staff. Just wanted to draw attention to the fact that there are a lot of choices on where to camp and this staff isn’t deserving of employment.

Spent 4 days at the campground and absolutely loved it. A lot of amenities, a location directly on the river and still close to anything that you would need. ??

My wife is a traveling nurse. And as other traveling nurses know, you receive a contract and literally begin work within a couple of weeks. We have traveled all over the country and stayed at many, many, many places, and I have never had to leave a bad review for any R. V park before. With this particular park, my wife was offered a position which he accepted, so I immediately caught around to make a reservation and 4 days later I had to cancel the reservation because there was a mix up and some paperwork with my wife's employer. Even though it is the dead, middle of winter and disestablishment has plenty of open places. They decided to keep our entire $250 deposit. Even though our reservation did not prevent them from being able to rent out the spot in that 4 day time period i would highly recommend that you look elsewhere. To stay as these people are obviously crooks, and there is no understanding with them. They they told me that they would work with me. When I first made the call about the reservation and all of that changed 4 days later. These people nothing but a bunch of liars and thieves. Do not tell people. That are long-term, especially that you understand that things come up and that you would work with us, and then all of a sudden, go back on that. I could completely understand if you had to take a portion of the deposit but to keep the entire deposit, it's completely insane. If people do not mind doing business with crooks, then by all means, stay here.

Very quiet and roomy. It's easy to get in and out. Had a problem with sewage, and the staff tried to be condescending. Guess they have dealt with too many who don't know what they were doing. Other than that, it was wonderful.

5. Clean and organized. Everyone was informative and helped with any needs that our group of 44 needed. The sites were clean and though you hear trains often. It’s not that bad. Plenty of places to walk and ride bikes and the community room was perfect for all of us with a full kitchen.

Have to be honest, if you're here to get away from it all this probably isn't the place for you. BUT!!! If you're here to visit Williamsburg and the surrounding attractions, this is your spot! Scenery is beautiful, the fishing is great and I have to say the staff and the residents are fantastic. Battery died in my truck while I was fishing and was assisted immediately by a couple of friendly residents there ?. And when I was done fishing and ready to leave I found a note on my truck saying that I overpaid for the kayak launch fee and they told me to come in and grab my money. This place is fantastic!

Nice serene place to pull up your RV. The staff is very friendly. I enjoy the sunsets and the laid back atmosphere. I just started RVing and this is my go-to place…at least for now. I find comfort here just a few miles from the city hustle and bustle amongst many other things that I won’t speak about here..this is about Rockahock! I love this place.

Office staff were very rude. There was an error with the booking. Never received a phone call from them when we "didn't show up". There is no entertainment. No activities. Huge amphitheater and it was desolate. Playgrounds empty. Pool small and clean, but empty. Bath houses clean. Garbage areas now locked in the back and you have to find and ask where and how to get to it. There was a tiny home. Tons of long term -- Swimming area on the beach was desolate and rightfully so due to the amount of allege, lily pads, etc. This has become a mobile home park. Tons of off shoots for additional long term stay that are not paved. One person during the entire stay was out in a boat on the water.

We have camped here for years in our camper without issue but this time we decided to try the Villa’s since our camper needs some work and we regret it. The villas could barely maintain a cool temperature and the management kept accusing us and other family members at the villas of having dogs. I do have 3 dogs but all were safely at home being watched by a dog sitter and all weigh about 100lbs so not easy to hide either. So after barging in our villa and seeing no dog the manager began to say that reports had been made of a dog in either our villa or villa one in which my nephew was staying and since his dog is a full bred German shepherd I am pretty sure had it been with us they would have known. What I do know is that in villa six there was an older man with a small dog he was sneaking in and out but that has nothing to do with myself or my family party of about 30 that camped there this weekend! The campground is close to Williamsburg but the management is atrocious and could really stand to learn some basic customer service.

Beautiful campground along the river. Generous spots with all the amenities. The bathrooms are clean. The showers are individual rooms which I appreciate. They were also very clean. Hot water with strong pressure! WiFi and cell service were a bit spotty during our stay but it just meant we had to disconnect from work and be in nature. It was very easy to visit a bunch of cities around us like Williamsburg.

We have been coming to Rockahock campground for several years and could not say enough great things about it! The staff is always so helpful! Becky, who works in front office, works very hard to make sure everyone is happy always and does a great job! These last 2 years, I have also seen a huge effort in making sure there are lots for the kids to do. They have added several planned activities on the weekends. If you want a nice family campground this is your place! Highly recommend it! You will feel like part of the Rockahock family very soon after you arrive and the staff will be there waiting for you when you get there and will even take you to your site if needed.

Boat parking needs some work. I get the whole camping/camper thing. But the boaters have to park so far out that it holds up the entire launch and take out process. The workers are nice and the place is always clean. Stayed here before with some friends and it was nice and quiet at night! Mornings smelled like camp fires and fresh crisp clean air. Definitely worth the money to stay. PLUS THE RIVER IS RIGHT THERE!

We stayed this past weekend in our new travel trailer with our young grandson and absolutely loved it. We drove up the weekend before to familiarize ourselves with the place and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Every staff member we encountered during our stay was super friendly and inviting. The camp[ground and bath houses were clean and our grandson loved the playground. If you don't feel like cooking, the campground restaurant says, "permanently closed" but Lakeside restaurant is a block away. Overall great time, thanks!

We rented both of the river houses and they weren’t clean. We walked in #3 and there was a moldy bottle of Snapple peach tea on one of the coffee tables, food and junk at the bottom of the trash cans (both houses), a cough drop on the floor in the bedroom, the carpet needed swept, a dirty towel in the bathroom, dead bugs in the silverware drawer and our feet were black from walking on the floors. The people are super nice when you can get a hold of someone, which is almost never. Making reservations on the website is impossible as is getting someone to answer your emails promptly. HOWEVER I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. The campground is absolutely beautiful especially at sunset. The pool is nice and everyone is so friendly. I could absolutely retire there and be perfectly happy. None of us wanted to leave. I know I said a lot of negative things about the place but the positive totally outweigh them. I highly recommend it!

We had such a great time over Memorial Day weekend at Rockahock. We stayed in a Yurt, which is simply a one room octagonal cabin with electricity and A/C, a refridgerator and heat. The bed was comfy. There was a picnic table and fire circle and grill. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. They had fun activities for the kids. The bathrooms were clean. We even had a shower assigned to our yurt! We went so that we stayed close to Busch Gardens but I plan to take the whole family back there again just for fun. My granddaughter loved the Pirate camp. We all learned a new game - dagaball. The grounds were clean. It rained and while there were lots of puddles to jump in, we had no issues with flooding at all. There was no tent camping that I saw, which is a shame since we do love to tent camp. But there were lots of cabins, RV sites and the yurts. I can't wait to go back. I did have to leave a message when I was trying to understand the accommodations. I got a call back the next day, which I felt was reasonable. I can't remember the name of the man that we met when we checked in. He was phenomenal. He went above and beyond. Our fire circle was missing. My husband let him know and within 30 minutes he brought a new one, was apologetic, and put it in place. He checked on us regularly. I really have no complaints.

We loved our stay here! The staff treats you like family, and I'm not just saying that. As soon as we pulled in, a neighbor immediately asked us if we needed help setting up. This isnt just a campground, this is a community. Everything is convenient and all you need is right there within the campground. We weren't able to visit the restaurant, but I heard the food was great! This place definitely deserves a 5 star review

Not even worth rating. We never even actually arrived, and they've done us wrong. My husband was going to be staying long term, as he was being transferred to the area. Because of the Labor Day holiday, they stated we had to reserve then or risk losing a spot over the holiday, asked for the $250 security deposit. We did not have the lease yet in hand. They sent it after taking our deposit (sans receipt), stating we can turn it in when he arrives. All of this arranged 10 days before husband was needing to arrive. Before we could get there, company decided to transfer him to different state instead. We notified them immediately of our knowing this, and cancelled the spot reservation. They state now that they cannot give us the deposit back, as it was within 14 days of stay. Which is true, but also true is that we never signed the lease agreeing to said terms. So technically, they took our money without proper documentation of holding of funds, and now refuse to give it back. After reading reviews here on Google and Facebook, seems that their business ethics and hospitality are truly lacking. While I'm sad we are losing our $250 deposit, can't say that I'm sad that we no longer have to deal with people like this.

We had a great stay! The water feels amazing. You all have made it super easy to move a trailer around and get launched in the water. The guests that I had the pleasure to meet were all sweet and great to talk to. Everyone helped each other out when needed. And Geri in the office was great to work with.

We visited some family that stays up here. The gate people were very kind and helped us to figure out where to go. Beautiful pool and scenery. We had so much fun at the bounce park for my daughter and the other littles. We even paid 5 dollars to tie dye shirts. Unfortunately that part was a little disorganized. However, I do not blame them... they were bombarded with a large group all at once. Plus, the teens running it were super kind and calm under the pressures of a bunch of kids/adults. And our shirts turned out adorable. I wish we could come more often.

We absolutely love this campground. We’ve been everywhere camping from Maine down to Florida and this I’d have to say is our favorite!!! The staff is exceptional. They’re all super friendly and helpful with anything you may need. There are activities for kids and adults. A ton of fun for the entire family. Their website doesn’t do this place justice. The grounds are clean. The store is clean and has many helpful items inside. The pool was clean. If you’re thinking about taking a family trip or just a weekend getaway, this is an awesome option you won’t be disappoint. One suggestion is the website should list the events and times for people that are planning on visiting so they know all the great things Rockahock offers their campers!! Thank you so much Rockahock and stuff for such an enjoyable experience!!

We RV camped in May for 9 days. They were very accommodating with our 40' fifth wheel. They gave us 2 sites that were back to back so we could use it as a pull thru. They seemed excited to tell us the site had been newly renovated. It was renovated all right. There were dirt mounds all over the site. They should have used those mounds to level off the sites as they became swimming pools after some pretty hefty rain. They put us in the very last site next to the trees. It would have been nice except they were cleaning up the rest of the campground and dumping all the tree limbs and debris along the tree line behind us. Not very pleasant to look at. Their trash area was atrocious. Huge turkey buzzards strewing trash everywhere. There were a lot of people with boats because of the lake. Too bad they couldn't take some of the expensive fees they charge for the sites and use it to fix the dilapidated piers. One good thing about the place was the Italian restaurant that was on site. We won't be back.

We reserved a site at this campground for a week-long National Aliner Owners Club rally in mid May. They have enough sites to accommodate well over 100 small Aliner campers in one section of the vast campground. Upon check-in, the staff was very welcoming and did a good job of explaining the park and even guided us to our reserved site. Very few sites have any shade. The campground has frontage on the lake which is dominated by their boat ramp and docks. ||||Our rally was purposefully scheduled slightly before their busy season, and unfortunately their swimming pool was not yet open. The vast majority of their campsites are level which simplifies RV setup but is not so optimal in rainy weather. They do have a very large, fresh-looking, covered pavilion which easily accommodated the group’s hundreds of attendees for meetings, catered meals, activities and concerts. The pavilion stage has lighting and a sound system. The campground provided adequate tables and chairs for all our planned activities. A couple of the other buildings (the back area bathhouse/meeting room and tavern) are looking a little tired from age but provided excellent alternative meeting spaces for smaller group functions. They have self-serve laundry facilities available on a first-come, first-served basis. They also have yurts and (I think) cabins to rent as well. Unfortunately, I heard lots of frustration about their WiFi bandwidth. We were lucky to be able to use our ATT cell phone data service.||||If your large group is looking to have a RV rally or conference outside of their peak season, it would be worth your while to see if this facility would be right for your group.
