Called at 8:44pm for roadside assistance and it’s 10:07. I am not sure why this business would accept a job from my insurance when we are nowhere near Chantilly or Sterling, VA. (We are stranded in Dumfries, VA) Now I’ve been waiting in my car at a gas station with my 9yr old daughter for over an hour for a tire change. Thank you for the long wait and for leaving us stranded for so long in an unknown area. You guys are great.
Edit: Tire changed at 10:26pm. The mechanic that you sent was great. Very nice and professional. Got the job done fast. So, I’m changing to 3 stars just for him, but the wait was absolutely ridiculous. You guys stretch workers out too thin.
I world give zero stars if I could. These people stole my vehicle from the overflow spot I had a valid pass for from my HOA. There was snow on the windshield so they claimed I didn't have a pass and I needed to pay them to have my vehicle returned to me. They also said they could not return it because management was unavailable on the weekends to authorize it so I have to pay them on a Saturday, Dec 6th, or wait til Monday morning, Dec 8th, to discuss it with management. We were inside preparing to leave the house to drive the vehicle when they towed it. They refuse to take accountability for their actions for basically stealing a car. This was after initially telling me it was towed because I was parked in someone else's space. Very unprofessional for management to not be available when their people are illegally towing cars.

DO NOT USE THIS TOW COMPANY! They are complete scammers who take advantage of people in vulnerable situations. Not only are their fees outrageously high (way more than any other tow service in the area), but they also hide extra charges until the last second.
The owner is one of the rudest, most unprofessional people I’ve ever dealt with. When I questioned the ridiculous price, he became aggressive and refused to explain the costs. It’s clear they’re just looking to rip people off instead of providing honest service.
Save yourself the stress and money—avoid this company at all costs! There are plenty of other tow services that won’t scam you or treat you like garbage. **Zero stars if I could!**
Road Runner truck with license plates RRWS238 came in on Sunday at our tire shop in Rockville . Driver started yelling at our customers and employees and after that tried to start a fight and threaten employees that he will come back and hurt them all. Run our parking sign with his truck and left.Police report was filed and Road Runner towing was called. Let’s see if they do something about it.
Impounded my car while the parking pass was in it. It was either hanging and they put it on the floor, or it fell and should have been visible if they cared at all. They just want to extort people out of money and charged me $300 for all of this. All while I had to go 25 minutes away from my home, and wait for 45 minutes for them to let me have my car that they towed from my house.
Companies like this are a net negative on society and the world would be a better place without them
I had an incredible experience with Road Runner Tow Company! Michael arrived incredibly fast—faster than I ever expected—and within just a few minutes, he had my car back on the road. He was kind, professional, and clearly knows his stuff. His efficiency and calm attitude made a stressful situation so much easier. I truly appreciated his help and would absolutely recommend this company (and Michael in particular!) to anyone in need of roadside assistance.
I normally don’t leave reviews, but my experience with Road Runner was so frustrating that I feel obligated to warn others. This company tows innocent cars from our neighborhood where there’s barely any parking available due to ongoing construction. People are doing their best to follow the rules, but Road Runner shows up and tows vehicles anyway, with no consideration for the situation.
Their customer service is just as bad, nearly impossible to reach anyone on the phone, and when you finally do, the staff is rude and unhelpful. I was told my car would be ready in two hours, but I ended up waiting nearly six with no updates and no one answering the phone. When I got there, the process was slow, disorganized, and they added random fees without clearly explaining anything.
Also the good reviews are all paid no one really is satisfied here, stray away!
So, I wanted to share a great experience I had with Roadrunner. I've worked with them a few times through my old job, and they're seriously awesome for towing and repossessions. But I recently had another interaction, this time with Michael, and wow – he was incredible! He explained everything so clearly. Roadrunner really goes above and beyond to make sure you're happy, which is rare these days. If you ever need their services, don't hesitate – you won't be disappointed! Michael deserves a special shout-out for his amazing customer service!
After a snowstorm in the DMV area, I found myself in a dire situation when my GPS led me down a steep, one-way private drive. Despite my cautious driving, I slid 100 feet in my AWD SUV and got stuck with the back tires off the road. AAA and two other towing companies refused to help, but after 2.5 hours, Road Runner Wrecker arrived. Shawn, the driver, confidently explained the recovery process and took extra care to ensure the safety of both the vehicle and himself. Using a winch, he slowly pulled me up the hill, expertly predicting every movement of the car. At one point, when the car began sliding backward toward a dangerous drop, Shawn reacted instantly, locking the winch and preventing a serious crash. After switching to stronger equipment, he successfully recovered the car without any damage. Though it was expensive, the professionalism and expertise of Road Runner, especially Shawn, made it worth every penny. My car was in perfect condition the next day, and I felt reassured that these are not your average tow truck divers—they're true professionals and operators.
I was stuck in the snow and was told my ETA would be 30-1 hour. They did arrive but I was stranded for at the intersection of a busy road. Henry did a great job of getting my car unstuck and handled my car with care.
DARNELL KIRBY!!! Amazing! nothing! but amazing. This was my first time jumping my Tesla. He helped me so much, I would absolutely request him again. and had great communication I seriously owe him so much. He got to me quickly and had great overall service.
I understand towing isn't an easy job but this company is extremely unprofessional and not customer-oriented. First, they wrongfully towed my vehicle, yes, annoying but not entirely their fault. Then as we are figuring out the problem and having someone come out to release my car, they take over an hour to get here. I'm reassured that they'll be here in 10 minutes or less when I called again but they have no certain time as the drivers gps system isn't working. Multiple calls and each one I'm getting put on hold for even longer than the last. I've been waiting, their hours say they're open but no one's inside their building. I don't know if that's a new change or something but it's inconvenient to have hours and not stick to them. I know I'm not the only person they could he dealing with but if you make promises to customers, please stick to them. Overall, the experience here wasn't the best and I hope they can improve the communication between themselves and the customers.
Not a review I wanted to leave, but I got myself in a pinch and these guys made light work of it! Top notch equipment, experienced operator that shows up when he says he was he will. Couldn't ask for a better experience other than not needing the wrecker on the first place.
Very pleased with the service Roadrunner provided after I had a flat tire stranding me at night off Rt 28. No spare in my 2019 Honda (who knew?) and it took calls to 6 companies before I got ahold of Roadrunner. They were able to get a truck out in under 45 minutes and got me, my car and my puppy safely home. Bravo, Roadrunner!
Michael was the best. He arrived on time ina remote part of West Virginia , skillfully loaded my Tesla on the flatbed and dropped off my car at Costco. His skills and personality were both top notch. Many Thanks to Michael and Road Runner. They saved the day!
My car was towed while parked in an area where I am a homeowner. It was impounded in a salvage lot somewhere in a remote industrial park. GPS and website directed me here to get my car. There is no office here… I called the number on the website for some guidance on how to get my car back and I was told “you need to give 1hrs notice when you want your car back”. This is not called out on the website anywhere nor is it noted anywhere that there is no office at the location. I waited for nearly 2 hours before I got my car back. If you get towed by these guys expect to block out about 4 hours of your day, expect to be poorly communicated with and phantom rules and charges to pop up and a lot of your time wasted or hope you are towed by a real tow truck company. I was rightfully towed and impounded here and was times before but never before have I felt more disrespectful in the retrieval process. This is just an avenue for RoadRunner towing to gouge you and waste your time. Please update your website and update all rules for getting your car and be more responsive in giving cars back.
Years later… got towed out of my driveway. Website is still not updated. Location for pick of towed cars is still not updated. Process for recovering cars is not updated. Responsiveness is still absolutely abhorrent. I think the “owner” responded to this a few years ago and promised updates to help people navigate the maze of getting the car back.
Several other cars on my block were parked the same way that I was parked and they were not towed. Why am I being targeted? Why weren’t others towed?
Starter to my vehicle decided to go out and I needed towing service asap. I came across road runner and Jay was very helpful, informative, and over communicated throughout the pick up and drop off. Will definitely contact again if needed. Thank you guys for your amazing service!
Shawn and Michael were above and beyond the expectation of an ultimate tow experience! Once they arrived, it took them no time to efficiently and effectively get me and my car to our proper destination. I would recommend them a million times over. Very cool also, felt like i met them before.

Roadrunner is an excellent emergency roadside service! Bryan M went far and beyond to assist me in a time of need last night with a Blow Out many miles from home. With their affordable prices I was able to get home with a tow from Bryan M! My insurance covers 20 miles and I had to pay for the other 10. I am very happy with the service provided. So I thought I'd give this gentleman and honest review and he is amazing and I appreciate all the work you all do at Road Runner Heavy Duty! Kudos to you all! Keep up the good work!!
Ricardo was my technician and he was great: personable with a bent to help make the situation better. He listened to my unusual case, offered to try and help, even though what I explained was not specifically why he was dispatched. In the end, my car needed towing which he handled efficiently and professionally. Our conversation on the ride to the repair shop was pleasant and always positive. I felt supported in a time of difficulty.
Service was excellent. Dispatcher verified pickup address and time frame. Said driver would text an arrival estimate. Drivers arrival estimate was spot on. When he arrived he was quick and efficient in loading in the car and very pleasant. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Highly recommend.
Driver was able to call to get directions considering my house is kind of hidden. Very polite and confirmed the damage to my vehicle as well as where it was being towed to. Fast and easy service, also made sure I had everything I needed out of the car before putting it on the flat bed. Great customer service, super nice!
I wanted to complete my previously interrupted review. Chuck, the operator who assisted me, was the absolute best! He was super friendly and professional. He went out of his way to perform a couple of things that he did not have to do. He handled my car with extreme care and gentleness. Additionally, he and his truck were very clean. The young lady who handled the dispatch showed genuine concern in my getting the service as quickly as possible. I would HIGHLY recommend this company.
My 2017 fusion transmission started having issues as I was heading into work and I called my insurance for roadside assistance and they set everything up with Road Runner. I gave them a call to make sure they would let me ride back with them to my ford dealer and the lady I spoke with on the phone was so nice and comforting and reassured me that everything was going to be okay and the driver was on his way. The driver gave me a call when he was about 10 minutes out. When he arrived he made the whole situation better. I could not be more happy with this company and would highly recommend them to anyone. Excellent customer service and professionalism.
Absolute delight! Called late on a Saturday and within 10min their truck arrived. Loaded and secured my car carefully within a few minutes and dropped both of us off two towns away. Driver was very courteous and professional. Thank you road runner team!
Shawn towed our 24-foot “Tiny House” today and made it look like he could do this in his sleep. He was professional, precise, careful, and extremely respectful of our project and our preferences. We were also very impressed by his staying up late on his own time to personally figure out and wire up the 7-pin RV-style connector we needed on his truck, which allowed the truck to connect to the trailer’s brakes. Thank you for making our first move that much less stressful!
