Thank you so much for an exact door knob I needed for my 1920s apartment which was missing one brass plated knob and thumb turn. You even shipped it right to me and I very much appreciate because you were helpful when I messed my order up as well. thank and continue doing great business.

Super disappointing customer service. We were told that they were interested in our project. After several phone calls to Elaine and others to follow up we were told that they were too busy. Next time don’t waste time stringing g people along. I highly recommend going somewhere else to begin with.

Exactly the door hinges I needed. Not as expensive as expected. I loved it as the old building, I want to go browse. So many interesting old things!

The workers were nice and helpful when I visited the new location, I was told they were forced out of their old location because of condos. Which I understand. They also told me they do the same thing that they always have. They may have the same products. But it most certainly isn't the same thing as before. Before they had a literal entire warehouse that you could spend hours in. Now they have a warehouse where you could spend a couple of minutes in and see everything. I honestly would travel a far distance had they moved into the middle of nowhere; if it meant they maintained a similar sized building to what they had before. It is convenient being in Ashland, lots of people drive by, but almost no point in going there because of the downgrade in size. That is why I am giving it a 3 star. It is not the same thing as before. Most people who own an old house in central va know what Caravatis is (Or was), They would probably fare well if they moved somewhere bigger even if it meant a sacrifice of location.

Terrific store to browse and get inspired. I didn’t buy anything vintage, but I did purchase several gifts items: towels, lotion, soap, linen spray. Super friendly staff. Public restrooms.

My husband and I visited this beautiful store today, what an amazing selection of old doors, windows, mantels, wood etc! Not only was their selection vast but the customer service they gave was top notch. A special thank you to Brady who was extremely patient with us, showing samples and giving us different ideas and feedback on the project we are working on with the kindest personality. You rock! We left with a beautiful old door and lock set for our pantry renovation. Thank you guys for the exceptional experience, we look forward to coming back!

This is seriously my new favorite store! I was looking for a rod for the transom window above my bedroom door (circa 1912) and within 30 seconds of walking in the door I had exactly what I needed. I decided to explore the rest of the store and they have so much cool stuff! Old shingles, bathtubs, hardware, doorknobs, toilets, sinks, and endless doors/windows. My favorite part was the warehouse which is where they keep the wood and larger items. Heart pine flooring, every size door known to man, trim, HUGE beams, and mantels. It’s a little pricey but very worth it. Some of this stuff is impossible to find and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely be back!

We’ve been buying from Caravati’s for the last few years but finally made it out to their new location in Ashland. The new store has a beautiful showroom that’s a little different from their old location but they still have a lot of the same great salvaged items they had in Richmond.

They recently moved from Richmond to Ashland so we decided to take a trip to check it out. It's a cool looking store now with lots of gifts in the store front. Love the idea and always get inspiration from this store. They used to have a lot more things in stock tho

I love Caravati's, but they are in the middle of a move to Ashland and stock is depleted, to say the least. Still fun to look around.

Went to go and get ideas for a Home Improvement Project and completely blown away with the quality size and selection of all the architectural salvage items that were available at this location. We were looking to do a with reclaimed with and there was a whole area dedicated. From windows, doors, hardware and everything in between this place is has it.

My wife and I took our first visit there on Saturday afternoon. She got some reclaimed wood to make a few signs with to go out on our front porch. If you are looking for mostly older items to do a remodel with on your home then this is the place to go. Plan on going when you can spend a little time there as the business has lots of stuff to check out.

Great resource! Perfect for the old house restorer! !! Have gone back again and another home run! Our 1905 American Queen Anne Victorian is more beautiful and warm because of the awesome things we have been able to put back in the home that were in stock at Caravati's! This place is a must for anyone restoring a old home!! Keep up the good job!

Fun place, pricey prices- wish they were open on Sundays and closed on a weekday instead. Sundays is a brunch drinks and shopping kind of day and I think Caravatis would benefit from being open all weekend- but of course they are an antique place so maybe archaic hours are part of their schtick :)

I was here for a wedding and was unfamiliar with this venue previously. I'm not sure if wedding hosting is their main business but they did a bang up job. There were all sorts of antique items all over the place. It looked very classy. The drinks were held in clawfoot bathtubs filled with ice and old doors on sawhorses operated as tables. It was a pleasant atmosphere.

I would say this place is OK. They have a lot of antique doors and windows as well as the hardware for them. Really good selection actually. I was hoping to see more old wooden beams. They also had old toilets, sinks and tubs. It was ok but I really expected a lot more from what I saw on their website.

Waiting to pick up a colleague at the airport and stumbled on to this awesome place! Unbelievable items and selections and unbelievable nice folk running the business. If you're looking to repurpose, give you home some character, or looking for great pieces to create that true vintage look to crafting. You'll have fun!

Like walking through a humongous grandmother's attic full of all kinds of things you might need. A necessary stop if you have an old house that needs a few replacement items (light fixtures, toilets, sinks, banisters and railings, wrought iron gates, front porch pillars, wooden paneling, shutters, hinges, heat vents, door knobs, etc, etc. Perfect if you like to up cycle or add imaginative pieces to your garden. Definitely an inspiration and fun to wander through.

Should be sought after world over. Beautiful old original stuff. I needed an obscure set of 100 year old balusters - they had them for a good price. They are as a shoppe should be run, laid back, explorable.

Such a great selection of old items to restore your home. They have a lot of everything, from mantles, to cabinets, to handle rails and windows. Fun to just walk around and check everything out.

If you want the normal run of the mill items for a building or decoration project, Caravati's is not for you. Every time I have an opportunity to stop in and see employees like Peter, I always leave with a million ideas to do creative things with my home. This place is an amusement park for the DIY crowd.

Great place to find awesome pieces for restoration. Everything from stained glass to door knobs, fixtures, furniture and so much more. Family owned and operated. Really nice folks.

This is a really cool place for reclaimed decor or material. Seemed a little pricey but I've never shopped for an old door before so I have nothing to compare it to. We spent about an hour here just browsing.

This place is incredible. For anyone that thinks home improvement stores are toy stores, then this place is like Santa's Workshop. Highly recommend you check this place out first before shopping for anything new. I found a large 68"x98" dining room table made of old doors. The guys were nice enough to trim a couple edges for me and transport it to the house (small fee). All the guys were extremely helpful, nice, knowledgeable and willing to work with me on everything. We will be back.
