These guys are awesome! I needed my vehicle towed from my house to a garage and Jacob gave me a time and arrived just as he said they would. Everyone was so kind and helpful! I had to call back to get a receipt for my insurance company and Kevin was so nice and got it for me quickly! Highly recommend! I’m definitely saving them in my phone in case I need them again!!! You can tell these guys are honest which is very hard to find!
They helped us with a trailer tow within the company's property for offload , the price was steep but they did their job responsibly and took Zelle for payment

Got my rig stuck at a chicken farm in the snow. The operator got me up the hill and even stuck around till I got unloaded to make sure I got out of the farm ok. Very proffesional.
I didn’t actually pay for the tow. But I used my phone to call Paynes to get broke down truck driver to truck enterprise in Harrisonburg, VA. Paynes provides a much needed service to the community in Greene County and surrounding areas . Getting these broken down trucks is a huge challenge but paynes can jump on it like no one else. They seem to be professional @ what they do.
My husband had a tire blow out which required towing. I called and spoke to Kevin. They were quick to respond which was good considering the location of the vehicle. Very efficient. I would recommend them in the future. They are sure in my contacts now.
They got me out of a real mess. I had went camping up at the middle river tract of the rapidan WMA got stuck trying to come out .
Had to get a ride out from the game warden to get cell service then when I started calling tow company's they where the only ones that would go back in the wma but they got me out quickly and for a reasonable price.
I was stranded with a flat a few days ago in an unpopulated area and nowhere near home. My insurance provider hadn't been able to find any company able to come to me and none of the companies I called on my own were responding. Payne's happened to drive by and see me on the side of the road, stopped, quickly swapped the flat for my spare, and had me on my way to a repair shop in no time. They did this in the snow, and without charging me anything. I was at a point where I couldn't see my way out of the situation when Payne's showed up and they seriously saved me! I can't thank them enough for their kindness and expert help. Highly recommend this company!
Ignore the bad reviews cause those aren't worth reading. I own a trucking company and have had to use Payne’s a couple times for long distance towing and I appreciate all they do! Family owned company, hard working people, and they are worth any price they charge, which is always within reason!
From a past experience that involved this company, I knew that this owner was a decent, reliable and very honest guy so when my car unexpectedly “died” on the road today, I requested a tow from them and they came quickly and were great from start to finish.
And were priced just right too! So many Thanks to Payne’s and your truck driver for rescuing me!
I called at 7:30 am to have a car towed away. I was told that they would come in 2 hours. By 11 am, nobody showed up. So I called the company back and asked for a new ETA. A new honest ETA. I was told rudely by the guy that answered the phone that I should call another company. Why didn’t they tell me that at 7:30 am that they were unable or unwilling to do the job. They wasted 3 and half hour of my time. My time is just as precious as their time.
Plz call another company if you need towing service.
This company cannot he trusted. No wonder they have a horrible reputation in Greene county.
To move this truck on the side of the road, they charged 14750$. They told us, that by law that this is a normal charge for 1 hour of towing, and you think this is normal? This is ridiculous, the worst service we have ever seen!
They responded super fast and got my son out of a potentially dangerous situation in the snow at the drop of a hat. Price was very reasonable and the driver was too nice to accept a tip. I highly recommend them.
Kind and personable on the phone, did their best to accommodate, but I needed a tow sooner than they could arrange. Would still consider the next time I have need for a tow.
