Es muy dificil!! (I broke my Spanish out for this review) the name says it ALL, a stream that runs throughout a few neighborhoods, but MAN...Good luck finding the entrance to it via motor vehicle. don't use GPS, just ask the locals.

The hikes in this area are beautiful the tracks are in good condition and the views are great. I find the geology in this area to be really interesting. The best thing about these wooded walks is that the environment changes with the seasons making it a pleasant distraction.

A nice, mostly flat hike. The water is gorgeous, as you can see right through it. The entire hike overall is really pretty!

Lovely place if you enjoy nature and the great outdoors. I would definitely recommend.

Incorrect location on the map. Ends at a residential street with private homes. I request someone who visited to suggest an update on the maps to the entrance and parking.

Don't be fooled by the name, difficult run trail is a very easy trail that can be used with dogs, and horses. Very nice walk along the river. Highly pleasurable. Small parking though. Be prepared to wait for the next car to pull out.

Good place to hike, well marked trails and signs. Leads to Great Falls Park and it's overlooks. You can do a 3-3.5 mile loop back to Difficult Runs parking lot.

free parking. Right by great falls. You can run or bike or heights of great falls visitor Center from there. Can get a little muddy depending on the weather the days before. No plumbing no porta potties

Hidden gem of a hike. Looking to get out and try something other than Great Falls? This is the spot! Nice path with fun features, I'd highly recommend for a couple hour hike on a sunny day. The path is mostly covered by trees so you get to enjoy the weather without the beating sun ?

Parking can be difficult especially getting in and out of the lot, but the paths are nice. Fishing isn't great.

If it has rained recently, it will be muddy. Not as nice as the great falls trails, but much less crowded. Pretty thin trails, a little overgrown, but nice.

The dogs love jogging here. Parking is limited but it is worth seeing the rapids.

Beautiful stretch of historic creek valley, heading towards Great Falls. The park has a chunk of the Cross County Trail (CCT) running through it, which at present is more of a hiking trail than a bike trail. Expect roots, rocks, and wet feet if you try to ride it.

Great place to hike with dog. Follow trail towards river. Spectacular water falls! I didn't go in main Great Falls National Park, yet. I'm sure it's even more scenic.

It's a wonderful path for a short walk with lots of ways back to civilization or for long walks staying in the woods and by the river for long stretches. Part of our almost daily routine. Dirt bike riders seem to love it. Dog walkers there all the time. And lots of times we see hardly anyone the entire time. Great secret in Fairfax... That maybe I just ruined.. The secret, I mean.

Easy hole without some great views of The running water and boulders. The beginning can be muddy after rain.

Small parking, big fun. I come here often to hike the park and for its proximity to Great Falls park. The river trail is scenic and fun. A great place for runners who like challenging terrain. I personally love jumping from Rock to rock in the river.

Pretty nice hike nestled within the span of housing along its boundaries with a a decent amount of stream bank to walk along. However, the entrance to trail head is poor and under construction around the pump station and not easily determined on the road side. You can easily mistakenly end up in the housing development. I am sure the home owners tire of this.; Put up a sign! Otherwise, you might do better to reach Great Falls Park instead of this hike to get there. It is GREAT for the local residence to jump on so I loved it for that but if you are willing to drive to a nicer spot, do that.

The park is a good place to walk dogs, but the hike is not that difficult or entertaining. Mountain biking can be fun on this trail.

Great place to hike, scramble on some small rocks, and when it's hot get in the stream. About a 2 mile walk one way to the end (at the Potomac) if you don't wander around in-between.

Beautiful area to walk that has the CCT running through it to Great Falls Park. Small parking lot, busy area, dog friendly, no restrooms or water.

There is a beautiful stream running through the middle of the park with plenty of cool rocks on the banks to collect.
