I will give you plain advice. Use it or don’t does not really matter. Their warranties suck. They don’t cover anything. From the minute I purchased these 4 tires it’s been a headache. Staff is nice. Facility is ok. But they lie about coverage on their warranty and are very excited to sell you a new tire with a warranty. Watch out for this line. “Alignment check” included. It almost sounds like they would give you an alignment when they sell it. I even asked about the alignment during the sale. They said yes once a year you can get an alignment( for some reason I did not hear check) all that, is an alignment check. I can check that myself. Unbelievable. I had an issue 2 days after buying the 4 tires. There was a bulge coming out the side wall. But very minor. Could barely see it I took it back. The said it was normal. Well my sidewalk has a bulge about 3 inches outward. Did not show up that big until after about 3 weeks. Of coarse, they wanted to sell me a new tire. That tire was a defect. I had a flat yesterday. I went in to fix my tire I had the warranty I paid 40 per tire to get it. Well after they plugged it I got home. The tire was down again. Mind you I live like 3 min away. The car stayed home. This morning I called. The best they could do was tell me to remove the tire and bring it in they’ll fix it. My neighbor helped me inflate it so I could drive it there. It had 2 more small nails in the same tire they fixed yesterday. That’s bad luck I guess. 2 nails in a 3 min drive what ever. Then the ice breaker. You need a new tire. I can not plug it because of the integrity of the tire. Guess who fixed the tire. The service guy working there. I had to pay him cash. This place is a joke. I could have saved 160 bucks or more and just paid their techs any time I had an issue. I could have taken it to Costco and they prob would have fixed it for $10 if I had I bought the tires new there. This is joke company with bs warranties. I don’t advice buying any of their warranties. Frankly, I have had much better experience in other places. They do not stand behind their tires the minute you walk out I could have ordered them online same tires and saved 300. Plus my 140 of warranty’s that cover nothing. I wish I could get my warranty money back. But it’s too late. I’ll deal with them till the warranty expires I guess. What a waste of money.

I really needed a oil change, but my work is keeping me from getting it done at my usual spot. Then I remembered I had a pep boys really close by to my work area. I was as I walked through the door and was quoted and ready drop keys quickly. I must note they made sure to be very accurate with my car info so that my car was getting the correct oil. My car was done and felt better than before I took it in when turning the car on. Thank you Jonathan,christian and Giselle(always has a great smile and ready for everyone who comes through the door)

The store associates and mechanic did a great job with my pre-purchase inspection by identifying some serious problems that were extremely critical to know before making a purchasing decision. The customer service associate Yousef was very helpful in helping me understand what kinds of cars to choose based on my preference and what areas to look at when considering a pre-purchase inspection.

Had an awesome experience at Pep Boys today! I bought a set of wheels about a month ago, and they kindly let me store them there until I was ready to install — super convenient. When I came in today, Christian took care of everything quickly and professionally. He mounted the wheels perfectly, made sure everything was balanced, and even gave me a few helpful tips about checking my suspension. The whole process was smooth, fast, and friendly. Really appreciate the great service and attention to detail. Definitely recommend this location — great team, great energy, and top-notch service!

Highly recommend getting a second opinion if you come here. I had an appointment on Saturday expecting to get my back brakes and rotors replaced. Pep Boys told me I needed to get the calipers replaced as well, adding $500+ to my bill. I consulted a few friends who were certified mechanics, and they told me it's incredibly unlikely a 2018 vehicle would need new calipers and would more likely expect that on vehicles 10 years older. My friends also told me that you cannot ascertain if calipers need repair unless they actually opened up the brakes, which they did not. Having taken my car to another mechanic, they confirmed my calipers were fine, and the price for parts was a third of what they were charging me. This leads me to believe that they saw I was a woman and attempted to overcharge me and replace parts that didn't need to be replaced. Will never come back and would give 0 stars if I could.

Customer service, communication, and repairs were excellent. My only issue was the exorbitant price of the alternator for my 2006 Buick Lucerne. Without discount it was over $400.

DO NOT GO HERE- MONEY GRABBERS! We had a flat tire and came to pep boys first thing in the morning for a tire change. The lady at the front desk recommended we change the front two tires and quoted about $240 per tire. We asked her to save the good tire that was being removed. She told us the job would take a couple of hours even though the mechanic informed us there was no one ahead of us. Finally when they were ready to change they tire they couldn’t find the wheel lock which was left in the glove compartment. We had just used the wheel lock since we got a flat and placed it in the glove compartment. They called us and told us they couldn’t find the wheel lock and then charged us extra to remove the tires without it. Then when we picked up the car, they said they do not have a note requesting the keep the old tire. The bill that was originally quoted to be under $500 was over $700. We feel they over charged us on purpose with the “missing” wheel lock. The wheel lock was in the car and now we can not find it. We are pretty sure they misplaced it. We also feel the service was incredible slow and disorganized, as the front desk lady failed to properly document the fact we asked for our tire back. Very poor service for a very simple task of changing a simple tire. We will not be returning to this pepboys for service again. UPDATE: I received a call from the store after leaving this review. The individual I spoke to (Jonathan) told me he is willing to refund me for the wheel lock removal charge and then suddenly asked me to hold. I was on hold for over 20 mins and he never returned to the call. I called back several time and I could not get ahold of anyone. No one has followed up about the refund. This again highlights the very poor customer service at this location.

I’m so thankful to Jonathan M. And Kyu for the Exceptional customer service. Went to another tire shop yesterday about a noise and they said it was nothing. Stopped by Pep boys today, Jonathan addressed my concern professionally and immediately. A gifted tech Kyu found the issue, the nuts were loose.!!! They are life savers, literally! It could have been a very dangerous situation. Thank you so much for keeping me and my family safe. God bless you both!!!

I booked an 8am appointment to have tires changed. I arrived at 8:05am and apologized for being a few minutes late. Service advisor said it was not a problem and that the work would be completed within 2 hours. At 9:55am I checked the status and was told my car was next in line. When I asked how long it would be I was told it would be another 1-1.5 hours. At that point I asked to have my key so I could leave. The service advisor never apologized and then asked when I would like to reschedule to which I declined. Completely unaccepted, I am not really sure what the point of an appointment is if you don’t adhere to them. I have used Pep Boys in past for tire service and never had an issue.

DO NOT GO HERE. I've been going to Pepboys for yours but never again after my last visit. I took my tire in to be patched after getting a nail in the tire. I purchased the tires from there and had the roadside hazard warranty. They couldn't patch it because somehow after less than 2.5yrs the tire was showing signs of dry rot. I was told they would need to order the tire but it would be about $50 or I could get a different tire that day and it'd be $150. I said I would wait and get the same tire. Took it in today and my total came to $150. I was shocked and told the manager I was quoted $50. He said sorry not sure how that happened but it was $150. This repair ultimately should have cost me nothing because the tire could have been repaired if there wasn't dry rotting. At that point, I had no choice but to pay the $150. I should also mention the original salesperson tried to tell me dry rot at 2.5yrs was normal. All the manager would do was shrug his shoulders and say sorry.

Whatever you do DO NOT go to this place to get your brakes here! I went in to get new brakes and rotors and waited there for 7hrs because they couldn’t give me an eta on when it would be done. I got my car back and the brakes squeaked worse than before! I dropped my car back off to get them corrected and it took them 8hrs to complete and I got my car back and again they squeaked worse than when I dropped it off and still squeak to this day! After spending $1000 I got more of a headache. Horrible customer service and horrible service in general. I would give this place a 0 stars if I could.

Went to get a tire replace. 08/20/2025 Mind you I had my vehicle towed there this past Sunday evening. Bought 2 new tires. Customer Service is not great. I had 2 tires put on and alignment. It took 4 hours after he quoted me about 2. 2 hours to me is still a bit much. I don't blame the tech's. I blame management. Gave me a discount but not for the time I missed work. Should have asked for more. Like take of the installation fee (labor). Geesh. 12:00pm walk-in left about 4:30pm.

I used to faithfully get my oil changed and tires rotated at Pep Boys because I always appreciated their honesty with me, but the service has gone downhill in recent years, culminating in something completely unacceptable. The first strike was when they kept assuring me they'd topped off my windshield washer fluid only for it to run out a week later. The second was when they quoted me $1400 for a repair that only ended up costing me $300 to fix elsewhere. But the third and final strike was this week when, while rotating my tires, they snapped one of the wheel studs and refused to take responsibility for their mistake. At first they said they would cover it because it was a technician error, but five minutes later they said actually, it wasn't their fault because the stud was extremely rusted and that's why it snapped. Friends, does this look extremely rusted to you? What it looks like to me (and the two other people I showed it to for a second and third opinion to make sure I wasn't crazy) is cross threaded and torqued to hell. I also looked at what was left on the car and it was similarly not rusted in the slightest. When I showed this to the manager, she said well, there are a number of reasons why it might have snapped other than being rusted (cross-threading being one of them). But even when I reminded them that was also their fault because they were the last people to rotate my tires, they still refused to cover the repair. Even though the part is cheap, because of labor costs, they quoted me an absolutely absurd $200-250 to fix it. So I'm taking it somewhere else today to get it fixed for $50 and never going back to a Pep Boys again.

I went in today because of a slow leak and left satisfied. I was greeted by the staff and a woman named Blue. Omg!! Blue is so sweet and she tries her best to ease your mind about your vehicle. She inspected and talked me through possible issues just so I wouldn't be shocked. Well it was the lesser of the possible outcomes. Thank you all!!

Customer service is non-existent, I stood there waiting for someone to acknowledge me for 10 minutes. Front Desk was taking calls on speaker, Very odd. Waited an hour for a tire repair (And ended up leaving without having the service done) even though when I pulled in the mechanic was literally sitting down not doing anything. If you have time to waste or are in a pinch this would be my last resort.

Scheduled an appointment with notes on my request stating I had customer provided parts. Received multiple confirmation/reminder messages about my appointment. When I show up, they state they don't accept customer provided parts. I have no issue with that, I have issue with them wasting my time and not contacting me with the notes I put in my request. Super miffed I had to leave work early, not to mention a waste of gas. Luckily the Woodbridge location is way better.

Went to Pep Boys to get my car checked out and Blue provided excellent service. I was not sure what was wrong with my car, but she took my car in right away to get it assessed, explained the required repairs in detail, arranged for the parts to be replaced same day. This will definitely be my go-to place for car repairs moving forward and I will definitely ask for Blue!

I visited this location on July 20, 2025, to purchase two tires for my car, with an installation appointment scheduled for 2:30 pm. I arrived a bit early, anticipating that entering all the necessary information might take some time. However, when it reached 3:00 pm, I approached the front desk to inquire about the estimated wait time. The representative I spoke with informed me that she was unsure of how many cars were ahead of me, which caught me off guard, as I would have expected that information to be readily available. When I decided to forgo the installation due to the delay, I was informed that the tire I planned to install was unavailable, despite it being shown in the system. I was surprised to hear that appointment times may not always be accurate, similar to experiences one might have at a doctor's office. This situation highlighted an area where additional training could benefit staff, particularly managing customer expectations during busy times. Potential customers should be aware of this experience when considering tire installation at this location to ensure they can make an informed decision. Unfortunately, due to this experience, I cannot confidently recommend this location to my family and friends.

Pep Boys Annandale Is a Scam—Avoid at All Costs I took my car to Pep Boys in Annandale to get the A/C fixed, and it was an absolute waste of time and money. They claimed to have repaired the issue, charged me for the service, and yet the A/C still doesn't work. It’s like they didn’t do anything at all—except take my money. I showed the technician the low site, but they didn't fix it, and it still leaks. - They added less freon and charged me for the full price, which shows my AC compressor doesn't work, and charged me for the replacement. When I went back to complain, the staff gave me vague explanations and tried to upsell me on other unrelated services instead of standing behind their work. They lack accountability, provide no accurate diagnosis, and offer no customer service. This establishment is either inexperienced or purposefully defrauds people, or perhaps both. Regardless, I will not return to this establishment, and I strongly advise others to consider alternative options as well. I suggest visiting a shop that prioritizes honesty and effectively resolves issues.

Replace four tires using a "Buy 3, get 1 free" special. This ends up being about the same as buy all 4 with free installation. They recommended alignment which I accepted. Smoother and quieter ride. Took me at the appointment time and were done when promised (90 minutes later). What I like best is that they recommend other services that might be needed. Mine were just fluid replacements and I take care of those elsewhere.

I don’t normally leave reviews but felt compelled to highlight the manager of this store was awesome. I recently acquired a 1973 240Z Datsun and brought it by the shop to bleed the brakes since the pedal felt like complete mush and I was looking to safely drive it to a vintage car specialist. While I understand the concern working on older cars can often lead to accidental breaks and few parts in stock, I asked the manager if I could sign something to ensure I would not hold him liable for any issues. He agreed and had a very knowledgeable mechanic Kyu put it up on the lift. Kyu quickly diagnosed the issue of leaking break line fluid and topped me off. While offering to pay the manager for his team’s time, he graciously replied that they do free break checks. Thank you Pep Boys for your honesty and professionalism and setting me up for a safe drive to get this vintage car properly restored!

The customer service agents were very nice and did their job well. However, I took my daughter’s car in for replacement of struts. 3 weeks prior I got an estimate that was much less that what I paid because the part brand in the estimate was not available. I don’t think that’s the proper way of doing business. Even if the part that I received the estimate for is not available at the time of service, Pep Boys should either get the part that was included with the estimate or compensate the client for what part they will use. You can contact me if you wish, but with all the competition out there Pep Boys should be more cognizant of this business practice.

I went there for rear brakes they told me I needed front brakes also and rotors and 2 new tires. I told them I didnt need all that. I left went to a garage/gas station. They said i did not need front brakes and tires maybe in a couple of mos. I got my rear brakes done and no rotors were needed. Be careful they will try an get your money. I dodged a bullet by leaving

I got a flat tire on a friday. So I called another tire shop and made an appointment. We went over tire size, the number of the tires in stock, tire price and appointment time. I called to let them know I would be 5 minutes late. The guy told me they don't make same day appointments but could fit me in after some back and forth. Then they said they were out of the tire I wanted and only had one over $100 more. So I called this location. They got me in taken care of ant out the door fast. Super friendly. The techs were so amazing. I went back for the other tire a few days later. I was an hour from home and the victim of a late and switch. All 3 of the techs Yousef, Blue, and the older gentleman (who's name i can not remember but got me set up ) are kind, pleasant, and knowledgeable. They will be getting my business from now on. Thank you Pep Boys. You saved me form being that guy on a doughnut with his hazards on driving down the highway.

The staff have been friendly in both cases I've been to this location. Scheduling is another issue as many other reviews point out. Today I arrived for an 11:00 AM appointment. The appointment noted, and then so did I in person that I'll be waiting. The car wasn't done until 2:00 PM. for an oil change, tire rotation, and courtesy check. This is similar to the previous time I was in this location (and most PepBoys I've been in for the last several years). I'm a busy person, don't tell me that's a drop-off time, that's not how the world works. It's an appointment time. PepBoys, as a company, needs to make a change. This is the first time on a courtesy check that the form wasn't even filled out. It was all 0's for the measurements. Price is hands down the best in the area, but that comes at a cost. PepBoys, not a canned response, take this and other reviews as a call to action. I will try another PepBoys location in the future. If it's the same thing again, I'm out. I'm a very frustrated, long-time customer of the company.

Zero stars. Do not go here please I am warning you! They advertise good prices online and discounts, but they do services that you specifically ask them not to and then hold your vehicle hostage to pay them for the additional services that were not wanted or needed. Came in for a specific service that was due, and had an assessment showing that’s all I needed, but they ended up doing additional services that cost five times as much and then refused to return the keys without full payment. Also they said the service would take 1-2 hours (had appointment) but it took them all day since they did more. I could’ve arranged a ride but didn’t since it was only gonna take 1-2 hours and ended up sitting there all day. They wouldn’t even let me get personal items out of the vehicle without payment for the parts they weren’t supposed to replace! Manager was also not helpful and rude!

I scheduled an appointment for a simple oil change for 1 pm, but due to no traffic I was able to get there around 12:40 pm and I let them know that I was there. I come back around 1:45 pm thinking my car would at least be on the lift and come to find out that they haven't even started it yet. I let the person at the front know and they said they would start my car after someone else!! This is ridiculous, what is the point of appointments if you don't even use them. I understand it may not start exactly at 1, but 45 min into the scheduled appointment and my car isn't even on a lift and now I have to wait on someone else first?? It takes at least an hour to change the oil due to my car being 5 L and needing almost 10 quarts. I had other errands to run and a another appointment I had to reschedule. They also had at least 3 empty bays available, which they could have at least put my car on to start the drain. I provided picture below. This is unacceptable for a simple oil change!! Last time I'll be coming here. Don't make appointments that you can't keep. Update: moved it to 3 stars instead of 2 due to the customer service being apologetic and nice. They should still explain better how appointments work and let the customer know that it's just a drop off time and not when they will actually work on the car.

My experience wasn’t great at all. The only reason why I decided to purchase was due to their current sales promotion. The waiting area was filthy to say the least. I originally was scheduled for a 9:30 AM Appointment in Alexandria. Unfortunately they were unable to fulfill my appointment due to one service tech. The next available location was Annandale…. I called to schedule an appointment…. No One Ever Answered The Phone…. I contacted the location multiple times… Still no answer…. Then I drove 27 minutes to the location to schedule an appointment. Luckily my tires were in stock and the availability for appointment. Arriving a day later at 9:58 Am for my appointment at 10:00 AM. I was notified that the service would take 2 Hours Max. Arriving back at 11:35 turned in after 1 PM. The staff decided to take a collective break while leaving my car untouched. I asked why? The representative gave me a bogus excuse instead of acknowledging the lack of communication, speed and transparency in the matter. Not to mention several of the staff member didn’t wear face masks inside the building or while servicing cars! I was really hopeful for a better experience. Maybe better luck next time….
