Call to get a quote for local towing and they wants to know what's going on with my vehicle before they give a quote. Never heard of this before. I see this as a Rip off !!!

My car decided to break down during a business trip and had me stranded in Charlottesville. The guy that showed up was friendly and had us laughing during the event. When he tried starting the car, it magically started working and I was able to drive home. I told him that he had the Midas Touch. The next day he called me to make sure that I made it home safely. This is A+ service!!!!!
Wayne is absolutely AMAZING!! This man came to get my car AFTER HOURS and didn't charge me extra because they were just hanging out anyways, let me bring my own parts to save some money, and when my rim needed to be replaced to, let me ship it straight to the shop and swapped out my spare for my regular tire no extra charge! You guys were a life saver and I can't thank you enough! I'd call them anytime I have car trouble, which hopefully won't be for a while!

I want to give a big shout out to FBR Towing for coming to the rescue during a family day out gone wrong. They showed up within 15 minutes for a simple battery jump request that quickly became a bigger issue. Long story short, they towed me quickly to a mechanic, then to a different one when the first couldn’t fit us in that day. The driver had a positive, professional attitude the entire time. Really outstanding service!
I had the displeasure of dealing with this company two days ago, my wife slipped off the road in an ice storm at about 5pm and the police called FBR towing. I had no issues with the driver at all he was polite and professional, he hooked up to my car and pulled it back down to its tires from its side slightly in the ditch, he then drove it down the road to a near by driveway and called his boss to get a quote. He was on the phone for about 5-7 min. Advocating for me because his boss clearly wanted him to tow me even though the police officer had already said it was fine to drive, the tow driver said it was fine to drive, but the person on the phone wouldn't give up he said well how far did you tow it, did you pull it out of the ditch, convince him that he shouldn't drive it etc. He then told me it would be $265.00 to pay for pulling it for 10 seconds to put it on its tires from its side. I truly believe he was hoping I didn't have the money to pay on the side of the road so he could charge me even more. WORST COMPANY EVER!
Called to get lockout service and they were here within 20 minutes and a very good price!! Only took about 2 minutes to unlock my car, definitely will recommend to family and friends! Very friendly.
Needed a tow after ridiculously unfortunately losing my spare tire Saturday evening. John was so kind, professional, and stood in the rain for an hour to remove my car. Then, to go way above and beyond found my tire the next day and brought it himself to the dealership where he’d taken my car the night before. Pricing was very reasonable, especially for a tricky tow situation. Dispatch was also helpful and prompt. Would 100% recommend FBR and 150% recommend John !!

Last weekend I was stranded in Charlottesville on a Saturday night and not only did they show up quickly, but also took us to our hotel and looked up a mechanic that was available on a Sunday morning. Then they took our truck to the mechanic for us and left it there so we could be serviced first thing in the morning.
I never thought I'd be recommending a towing service but here we are. My driver CW arrived in under 10 minutes and was super friendly and helpful. He even gave me a ride home. And the cost of the towing was a reasonable price. Thanks for your help, CW!
Roadside assistance was set up through progressive. Called and asked what the ETA was so I could have my wife take me to the car. He gave me about a 2 hour window. I said that's a pretty broad range. He then said, "I'll call progressive and let them know we can't tow your car because you don't know what an ETA is." I had a few choice words for the tool on the other side of the phone. While complaining to progressive about this classless, trash organization, they let me know 30 minutes later he never called to cancel service Petty, and expected. Businesses like this need to fail. And yeah, you're welcome for your one star. There was no bad language until you stated I wasn't being serviced because I didn't know what an ETA was with a nasty little attitude. So your reply doesn't make sense, which is not surprising.
After over an hour wait stranded on the side of the road, I was contacted by the driver who indicated that the winch out would be the obsorbinate sum of $200. I said I guess that'd have to be fine I guess and that I'd see if I could be reimbursed by my job, as my getting stuck was somewhat job related. Half an hour passed and no driver arrived and it began getting colder. So I called another company (whose cost was o ly $75) and called FBR back to cancel my tow. To my great surprise I am informed that my tow had already been cancelled because"I was unable to pay". Which I NEVER said. Lack of customer service? Yes. Overpriced? Yes. Good to do with business with? A resounding NO! I wish I could give a negative star review for this company.
The driver arrived in a horrible mood. He said that the last lady he helped drained his “jump pack” so it might not work on my battery. When it didn’t work he said I needed a new alternator and possibly a starter. I explained that I knew why the battery was dead and that I just needed a jump. When I requested that he charge the pack and try again he refused. When I asked his name so I could make a complaint he refused and began to insult me. I had my child with me during this incident. I did call the company and they seemed unconcerned. After he left I was able to borrow some cables and jump my own car.
Professionally I've worked with the most amazing, skilled, and kind tow truck drivers. I also know we all have off days, yet sometimes you have to walk away and say nothing. Then request assistance from someone else that perhaps was exactly the tow company and driver that had to come. That's exactly what occurred in my regular gal life a few days ago. Kindness always wins in the end.
Hands down the best towing experience I have had. Adam was a complete professional and knew the area well. He gave me some excellent advice pointing me towards a local tire service when the one I had fell through. I would definitely recommend FBR.
