Great recycling center I have been coming here for years. back when it was the previous company as well. I bring several trailer loads here a year. I also bring Batteries, Aluminum, Brass and Copper. I have brought four vehicles as well, you will need to have the vehicle titles. They pay cash! love it. See you next week.
Had 42 pounds of #1 copper, guy said I had #2, it was clean copper wire ranging from #12 to #8 , DO NOT GO HERE , RIPOFF.
#1 insulated copper wire consists of wire or cable that is clean, unalloyed, uncoated or untinned. It needs to be plastic insulated, or a gauge thickness of 16 or larger, all ends being cut off, insulation does not need to be stripped.
#2 Insulated Copper Wire
This category consists of unalloyed copper wire with a gauge thinner than 16. This includes heavy, double or plastic insulation. Wirings from electronics, extension cords, and other gadgets are acceptable. Number 2 insulated wires usually have tin and nickel coatings.
FYI, as of June 2022, they are not accepting aluminum cans. But the staff is super friendly and helpful, I will definitely do business with them again!
one of best scrap metal yards to go to in the area... plus the employees are great too and helpful! every time i go there... all the employees work together and get along well with each other, which makes for a good experience, and they have a good system down... at the start from the scale office down to the guys around back to help and direct traffic and keep everyone safe also to the guys who collect and weight non-magnetic metals help and weight it right, and up at the office when you collect your money, there do the job right away and great hospitality from lady who counts the money in front of the customer. great people up there for sure... personally that's how my visit goes, some might say otherwise but not me!!!
Always a good experience here. Employees are nice, they get you in and out quick and you get your payment, right there. Also, they usually have the best prices. Highly recommend.
This place is a huge rip off. The yard in Charlottesville pays SIGNIFIGANTLY more. $1.75 for #1 copper? Try $2.25. And.65 for coils? Cville pays.85. I don't know if it's intentional or they just don't have the right people buying their scrap, regardless is a ripoff
