What clients say about Augusta Springs Wetlands Park in Augusta Springs (VA)
-
Wetlands area is near parking and no elevation gain. Easy for kids. But I came during winter and only saw a couple ducks and a very few other birds. I hope to come back during a warmer season. There is also an "uplands trail". It is not long and the elevation gain shouldn't be hard for most people

Nice boardwalk. There wasn't a lot of water because of the drought but it is a nice walk.

Nice level trail. Not strenuous at all Benches to sit and enjoy the peacefulness.

Easy, mostly level, 2/3 mile, wheelchair/stroller accessable trail, with more strenuous, maybe 2/3 mile uphill, 2/3 mile downhill, "highland" wooded trail.

Nice trail to wander. A spot for splashing in the creek. Great place to learn about nature.

A great loop trail in Augusta County. Great for walking, birding, walking with little kids and/or dogs. Some of the trail is a built up boardwalk that turns into dirt. Flat, easy walk and a great way to get in the woods for anyone.

Spent a quiet fall day walking the loop. Nice paths and walkways. Not too crowded.

They need to keep the weeds and grass on the sides of the trails cut back better especially during dog days when snakes are blind and will strike at anything. I had my friends dog walking it and both of us could have got stuck by a copperhead. Now when I go up there I carry later a friend told me I could be fined if I shot one all I can say to that it's the snake or me or the dog. The weeds on the bridges need cutting also there could be something under them

Nice little loop with signs and brochures telling you about the flora and fauna in the area. There is a restroom and picnic area, and a couple of other trails off the main loop.

Easy trail around wetlands. Upland trail has very steep climb or descent on northeast portion of large loop. Climb is uphill if approached from eastern trail entrance walking counter clockwise.

It was a easy path to walk. It's probably a more beautiful view when it's all grown back. When we went they had cut down a lot of growth. But we will be back in town and we will have to check it out again.

Me and my wife and my dogs love this place. Easy walk. Nicely shaded. Really nice nature walk.

Nice relaxing area to stop and check out. There are some very old cars in the woods that are neat to see. Hard to see some of the things (Spring House, Bottling Plant Foundation, and the Smoke House) in the summer from the overgrowth. Recommend going in the winter months.

What a beautiful nature trail and walk. Non strenuous walk, almost 2 miles with no hill climbing and a few benches along the way to sit and enjoy what you see. Close to the entrance are Picnic benches and 1 durable restroom( bring hand sanitizer, no running water, was well cleaned). This is handicapped accessible so I could bring any family member here. It was great to enjoy alone as well. Absolutely gorgeous views. I'm so glad I stopped.

Loved this park! The boardwalk was splendid with the sights and interpretative signs! We saw cute newts in the water! The upland trail was good for the heart rate going up to see lovely views! Will definitely be back to see the park in different seasons!

Absolutely beautiful! The scenery was stunning and the trail was very well-maintained. No litter anywhere. Would definitely recommended this trail for families with small children or pets. Another gorgeous gem of Augusta Country!

There are a few trails here. The wetlands loop has a lot of boardwalks and many signs describing local wildlife. The uplands trails are more rustic. There are a lot of old cars, I'm not sure what the story is there.

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Very stroller friendly place. My son and I really enjoyed our trip to Augusta Springs Wetlands.

Great little nature walk, good accessibility and easy use for kiddos. Variety of wildlife, and opportunity to branch off on some further trails off the short main loop.

It's a great walk. The main trail is easy going and short it goes around the wetlands and is a flat trail. There is another trail off to the side from the main trail that is more of a moderate hike with a lot to see.

Great spot to stop for a walk! There is a nice forest loop trail that has some good cardio and 4 cool abandoned cars out in the woods, as well as an old stone dam from back in the resort days. It's nice! Then the wetlands area has a wooden platform and graveled trail that circles the wetlands area. I always like to stop if I have the time, while on my way to Craigsville. Check it out some time!

Nice flat walking path and Boardwalk to see wildlife, pretty quiet. About three-quarters of a mile Loop. Really nice fresh spring rushing out of the bottom of the mountain to feed the wetlands.
