Nice location, the parking is tough to get in and out of. They have a small selection of groceries, and offer subs made to order.
Everyone with me ordered subs, there's came, I waited. They finished eating, I checked, my order was forgotten. They said something about a mix up, but there were no extra subs on the table, they simply forgot to make my sub, and made up a excuse .
The sub was ok, the bread wasn't the best, the meat was generic low end lunch meat.
The place has a nice atmosphere, if they could improve their sub rolls and meat quality, and remember to make people's orders they will have a leg up.
Moldy bread, baguettes hard as rocks, tomato paste disguised as soup, overpriced on all items, slow service and bad parking are what all of the good reviewers must love about this spot.
I mean 2 bucks for a single small chocolate chip cookie? Lol

I mean, it’s a quaint old country store but honestly charm doesn’t equal value for my $. Will be skipping and sticking to choices in Crozet in the future.
Ordered sandwiches (about average taste), chicken curry salad (delicious!), Marie Bette baguette (heavenly), and a bottle of local wine (reasonably priced). Service very friendly. Cute spot.
We stopped in for lunch at Batesville Market. The food was delicious and portions were very generous. Ingredients are fresh and of the highest quality. We were able to take our dogs and enjoy lunch on the patio. Can’t wait to go back!
Friendly staff, with a nice selection of sandwiches and breakfast offerings. Nice beer selection as well and looks like they do some taps with mugs hanging for customers. Got an Italian sub and it was good. Also had soup made and ready to go in different sizes.

If you find yourself in batesville, you will probably stop at this little gem. It's an awesome place to get yourself a bite to eat or relax and watch some like music. There are lots of things to see and local crafts and art to purchase. The deli is boars head and tasty. The biscuits and some of the best I have ever had. They also have a selection of extremely high-priced beer that will not only catch you off guard but could be a couple of months past the best by date. 18.49 for a six-pack? Yep, I was not paying attention. My mind was on the biscuit. Besides the beer price, it's a decent selection. The folks behind the counter are nice and always helpful. The baked goods are top-notch. They come fresh frome a bakery in Charlottesville. It's a great little place that you should go check out!
This little country market was a nice stop on a day of wandering through the 151 area. Delicious sandwiches, good beer selection, nice ladies. The store reminds me of Ike Godsey on the Waltons.
We volunteer our services at a farm nearby and get sandwiches from this shop for lunch whenever we work. Not only is the food expertly arranged and in huge portions, the quality of ingredients it’s just far superior. It’s a really awesome shop too with a great beer selection and lots of great snacks for our campfire adventures every evening. Our entire crew would recommend stopping here no matter what you’re into!

A bit pricey. BM has a very interesting history and backstory, to include a $1 purchase agreement. Ask the staff about it.
Has live entertainment some evenings too.
Superb water and bathroom stop too. Water is available outside from the well even when BM is closed.
Lots of sandwiches and a few other deli items. Cute selection of specialty items. Good alcohol/non-alcohol beverage selection. It feels a bit pretentious for a country store; almost like they are trying to be local but run by outsiders. But maybe I'm mistaken :) I've been here before and didn't feel like that.
Very cute deli, amazing selection of food and drinks. The young brown hair man at the counter was incredibly friendly and helpful-answering all the questions we had about the delicious baked goods and other selection of amazing food! The short lady with the graying brown hair (40s age) was not very friendly at all and was constantly giving dirty looks and ignoring us. Stone face, no smile. Apart from that our experience was very enjoyable and the price and products were amazing!!!
Lovely market with lovely people and lovely food. This is a true hidden gem and absolutely worth a visit. We will be back next to time for the outdoor music. Also the beer club is a super cool idea.
This place is unexpectedly wonderful! I recently stayed in Batesville and fully appreciated having a store in town with great wine & beer, delicious food/eat in or take out, icecream sandwiches to die for, even french pastries and gluten free breads. There seems to be an extreme amount of thought and care put into everything in this store, from the wild flower bouquets to the wonderful local gifts. Love!
This was our first visit to the Batesville Market under the new owners and since covid. We went to see Will Evans band play some indie jazz. The market now has a large tent setup over their patio area with room for 7 tables and a little extra room not under a tent. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of vegetarian options and had trouble deciding what to order but we settled on the zucchini quesadilla and the cold orzo salad. Both were delicious but the zucchini quesadilla was amazing and something we would definitely order again. The Batesville Market has a wide variety of wine and beer available for sale as well as some other country market type of items including some locally-grown fresh produce. Finally, I want to say something about how friendly the staff was when we visited. Several times I was helped by Katie who remembered my name.
So much goodness in one little shop.
The cooked food was so flavorful. One of those massive veggie fritters and two small sides made two meals and the ice cream sandwich for dessert was the cherry on top!

This place is great! We stopped by on May 1st for refreshments on a cycling trip. Very good food. Loads of interesting and delicious items in the store. Live music and picnic tables across the street for outdoor seating.

It was the coolest of country markets! A friend of ours lives down the road and we pass by all the time. NEVER AGAIN. It is country with a very upscale twist. We got freshly made breakfast sandwiches to order and tasty canned LA Colombe coffee. Local pottery, woodworking, glassware. Local wines as well as an excellent choice of wines further away. A great experience even if you don't buy. BUT I BET YOU WILL!
I've had lunch at Batesville Market over the past few years, and today was THE BEST! Black bean burger with a spicy aoli and sweet potato fries - YUM! Really good! Each week you can go on an eating adventure with their changing menu, so that's fun! And the staff is super friendly. Treat yourself to a local down-home experience that feeds your tummy and your soul.
Locally owned country market perfect for the quick Crozet beer run. Popped in and out and got the craft beer I needed. The place does food, sandwiches, local farm products, music and much more. Such a great staple for the Crozet and Batesville areas for food, beer, family and more! Going to have to go buy some fresh cookies now as the whole place smells delicious...

the first band is really good and maybe later on after 9 or so are some other good bands but the people playing in between are unorganized and talk a lot without playing music. It's a great scene for local people. It's not so exciting for those who don't know the musicians. We went last year and had a really good time but this year we left around 9 because we were just bored and it's crowded. Also there is very very limited seating. In
