If you’re looking for a place that checks all the boxes for an unforgettable camping trip, look no further, Grateful Acres is the place! This mountain campsite is truly something special, I honestly didn’t want to leave.
First off, the scenery is breathtaking! Towering mountains surround you in every direction, with crystal-clear lakes and forest trails just down the road. Whether you’re an early riser catching sunrise over the peaks or settling in with a cozy hoodie for a starlit evening, the views are nothing short of magical. Better yet, if you’re a star gazer ~ the night sky there is UNREAL. No light pollution, just an endless glittering dome above. I haven’t seen the Milky Way that clearly in my life.
The vibe at this campsite is everything you could want: 4/20 friendly, clean property and outhouses / porta potties, and SO welcoming. Upon arrival, I felt right at home. The staff and other campers were awesome, kind, respectful, and down-to-earth. Whether we were swapping stories around the fire or sharing marshmallows with new friends, there was a genuine sense of community here.
Great prices! Groovy kayaks are available for rent and paddling out on the lake with the sunset and mountain reflections around you is an experience I’ll never forget. If you need supplies, the on-site office offers some camp supplies that may come in handy, great firewood, snacks, and some cool merch that make for perfect souvenirs!
There’s a ton to explore nearby too ~ waterfalls, hidden trails, charming small towns, and scenic overlooks. Whether you’re an adventurer or just want to relax in nature’s embrace, there’s something for everyone.
In short ~ Grateful Acres, VT encompasses a gorgeous location, amazing people, starry skies, and good four twenty ?️ vibes ALL around. Gratitude is the best attitude. I’ll definitely be back! ☮️?✨?️
This is that place. You know the place that you've been searching for all those years of looking. Adam and Stephanie's attention to detail above the rest.
There is 2 cabins and a settlers tent that are fully outfitted for a great night. I saw a queen bed, chairs, screens, bbq, privacy, picnic table, umbrella, hammocks, and plenty of space to get the outdoors in your blood.
We stayed at one of the 2 tent sites. One is kinda close to the road and the other one is in the middle of everything. We stayed at the one in the middle and it was perfect. 360° view of beautiful green mountains. Plenty of space for our 4 legged friends to run around. We enjoyed watching the sunrise over Mt Snow and Heystack and the sunset over Glastenbury.
There is an outhouse that has 2 sides. This was cleaner than any public toilet I've ever experienced. There is 2 sets of cornhole boards and bags. I saw some kayaks next to a shed (not sure if you can rent them or not).
It is about 7 miles off of VT Route 9 and about 2 miles from Somerset Reservoir. There isn't pavement but the dirt road is better than most paved roads. We tow a travel trailer that is about 20' and had no issues.
I'm telling you this is where it's at. Peace and quiet. Views. Hospitality. Leave your troubles on the pavement, follow the river up to the unforgettable Grateful Acres. You won't be disappointed.
This place is awesome! I was using iOverlander to find boondocking nearby but fell in love with the property. Close to the reservoir and hiking. A clean restroom and firewood! Adam answered all my calls and I stayed for two nights. I’ll be back for sure!

This campsite is absolutely wonderful as is the family who owns it. I booked through Hipcamp but they also have spots on Tentrr. The views are amazing and there is lots of space. We camped to watch a meteor shower and the skies were perfect. Our trip was potentially going to be rained out and Stephanie was so kind and responsive to all of my messages and extremely accommodating. She even moved us to a spot with a luxury tent since it was available. It was excellent. We stayed for two nights and even with rain on the last day we had an amazing time
This place is magical. Set on a hilltop in the middle of the green mountains, this camping spot is epic. You have views, privacy, groomed fields for the pups, picnic table, and a fireplace. There were a few cabins on site and a yurt, but our tent did us just fine. Our sleeping plans for the night backfired so we had to find a safe place to hunker down when we stumbled upon this place by chance. The owners answered on the first ring and put us up for the night. Grateful indeed!
We absolutely loved Grateful Acres! Everything was perfect from the amazing little cabin to the incredibly scenic property to the impressive drop toilet that had all of the essentials (books, candles, tp, wipes and more!) We can't wait to come back.
One of the best camping experiences I've had, the owners are some of the most friendly and accommodating people I've ever met. The cabin is beautiful as well as the location/view. My girlfriend and I were looking for a weekend get away and when we found this place we called to check if it was available, it was not so we continued looking, less than 10 minutes later Adam called me back to let me know there was a cancelation and they were now available, you can't beat customer service like that of a small mom&pop type business. We will definitely be coming back at least once a year. ✌️

We had an amazing stay in one of their tents. We arrived late but they had LED lights on. Bed was comfortable and there were a lot of little touches like a camp stove, extra lights and a hammock. Felt almost like a outdoor hotel. The property was nicely kept and had some nice plantings scattered around. We hope to be back soon.
A very good camping experience. I stayed in the tent which was very comfortable. It is a bit pricey for glamping, but I did enjoy the property, owners and the area.
This is the best campground I’ve ever experienced. The hosts are very kind and accommodating and the site itself is beautiful, relaxing, and located in the perfect spot. I can’t express how lucky we were to stumble upon this place. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I’ll be coming back here every summer it’s truly a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a beautiful mountain getaway this is the place!
Our stay here was great. Great place to get away and enjoy nature. They are dog friendly and my dog got to run and play off leash. Wicked nice people. Picnic table, fire ring and toilet. They have sites with yurts, tiny houses and tent camping.
Perfect spot for camping. Had such an amazing time listening to all the wild life. The host was kind and informative. Site was stunning and well maintained.
